Vs3, I see you're using crossfireX cables. I've allways had the impression that without em system works best.
I mean that you can individually max out each card without crossfire. (plus atleast I had ULP problems etc on my main comp)

To be quite honest - I haven't experimented much with the without-CrossX/with-CrossX - it just worked, so I decided it's best not to "fix" that Smiley
Btw only 4 of them are crossfired and the last one isn't - I managed to misplace the cable and haven't bothered buying a new one as it still just works...
So you might be right about that. I'll give it a shot over the weekend.

Lucko - about downclocking the memory - mine are at 450MHz, but that's only because at lower MHz sometimes the driver crashes and also it seems to affect the hashing speed. I can get mine easily down to 350MHz. I'm using the Sapphire Trixx - it also has an option to disable the ultra-lowvoltage-powersaving BS. Oh - and among the first things I do after booting up is to kill the CCC.exe and MOM.exe apps - they seem to want to tweak my cards and often cause the crashing.

I use cgminer, with it I don't need any overclocking utilities etc... I does all of it out-of-the-box, only "thing" with it is that its a console app, but with cgwatcher (which restarts miner if its crashes or cpu gets sick etc..) its golden in windows. Prolly lil more setting up tho (compared to guiminer etc...).
Only thing I had with it is that, because I run crossfire (with 4xxx cards, yeah old I know but best ones are all in the rigs Wink) I have to start a game, otherwise 2nd card doesnt get undervolted/overclocked core/underclock mem :/ (ULP problem, tried modifying registry etc, didnt work)

As far as I know crossfire uses more electricity as far as I know... And I kill CCC.exe to... I will look into killing MOM.exe too. I have .bat file that do that. I did play with mem clocks so I don't think this is a problem. Thanks if this is a attempt of figuring out crashes of drivers in 5970 black edition...

Yes options like that are sweet...

--temp-target 74,70,70,75,75,75,75,65 --auto-fan --gpu-fan 70-100,60-100,50-100,70-100,70-100,70-100,70-100,30-100 --auto-gpu --gpu-engine 800-986,900-986,800-941,700-816,700-816,700-841,700-841,850-990 --gpu-memclock 900,900,300,300,300,150,150,300

just in case you dont to know. First are temperatures for my cards. Then I setup control for fans and as a backup option give cgminer chance to lower core MHz to have safe temperature... Then I setup mem clocks.

EDIT: From what I can figure 5xxx mem can go to 300 or even 150 but some cars get unstable, 6xxx can go to 900 and 7xxx can go to 1000.

Agreed. I kill this every time I reboot (mostly I 'resume').

Hi folks,
Not that i could tell you how, but i seem to have joined your pool ...I hope that is ok ?. I'm using my small Hakintosh dual boot win7/mac mountain lion computer on the mac side , using MacMiner application on BFG , my spec are as follows .

Specs
i72600k running at 4.2GHz
GA-Z68MX-UD2H-B3 (rev. 1.0)
8 GB 1600MHz DDR3
AMD RadeonHD 6870 HD-687A-ZHFC - 1GB XFX HD 6870, 4200MHz GDDR5, GPU 900MHz, 1120 Cores, EyeFinity, HDMI/ 2x mini DisplayPort/ 2x DVI-I

MacOS X 10.8.4 (Tonymacx86 multibeast Hakintosh)

I'll only be on 12-15 hours a day or as long as my mobile phones internet connection is at home...

I've already had great help on here by Anonymailer in the MacMiner section which is welcoming, i look forward to finding out more and to meet more good folk.

20% hit in rewards last night due to increased hashing and a difficulty bump this weekend is pushing this GPU only guy to litecoins, Can anyone recommend a good thread or site for beginners?  Is there a slush's pool preferred pool for litecoins?

Edit: Googled it.

How often should my account page on slushs website be updating itself to reflect the work my miners are doing?
I'm watching my GUIminer and my workers are acccepting shares literally every single minute, but on slushs website it says the time since last share for my worker is 1 hour and like 12 minutes. WTF.

Why is the website not updating the shares my workers are finding and therefore not updating my score and therefore not updating my reward?

Should it be updating every time a worker accepts a share?

Yes. You should be using stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 if you aren't already.

Hi does anyone know why my share dropped from ~0.023 btc down to 0.017 btc all of sudden?  the asic blade is still running fine at around 13GH unchanged, but slush is showing my share dropped quite significantly, dont understand why.

Yesterday your 13 ot of 12500GH were 0.104% of pool's total hashrate, and today the 13 out of 17500 is 0.074% or your current contribution is 71% compared to what you did before - as a result your payout would be about roughly 30% less.
Or calculated : 0.023*0.71=0.01633 is what your current average should be. So your 0.017 is actually more than what you should be getting Smiley

Are you sure that MEM is running at that speed? I'm asking because I get report that change was successfully but when I look at MEM speed I see that it is running at 1100. And this happens at every speed below 900 or 1000... Even in afterburner... I can set it but when I look I see 1100 in graphs... Or it could be the driver...

i have my 6xxx cards memory at 275, i can go lower, below 200, but i do seem to lose hash rate, and higher only affects the temp.  I kill ccc, and combine trixx with cgminer  and get fan speeds between 1% and 50% with target temp at 70 but usually lower. i must be a lucky one!
Are you sure that MEM is running at that speed? I'm asking because I get report that change was successfully but when I look at MEM speed I see that it is running at 1100. And this happens at every speed below 900... Even in afterburner... I can set it but when I look I see 1100 in graphs... Or it could be the driver...

Lucko - check your speeds and voltages with other programs as well as they sometimes read/report different things. I've found GPU-Z to be pretty accurate.
I had a lot of issues with the MSI one and I found the Trixx to be a much better and stable choice. And AMD's CCC is a complete joke so I won't even go there.
A tip for the trixx - initially the memory speed slider would go let's say only down to 2000, but once you hit Apply you'll find that you can move it even further Wink

[...]- about downclocking the memory - mine are at 450MHz, but that's only because at lower MHz sometimes the driver crashes and also it seems to affect the hashing speed. [...]

Hashing with 7970, cgminer + MSI Afterburner I undercloked  memory to the amount of 50-100 Mhz with core clock around 1140. I didn't see the impact on hashing power or driver crushes but GPU's fans speed and tempratures.

Lucko
I went through all this on my 6870's
So in MSIAB I could only drop mem to 100 below GPU Engine speed (840)
So I uninstalled CCC (Catalyst control Centre) left driver and runtimes
So I could then drop mem to 550 in MSIAB.
Saved that as profile 1 drops mem to 550,
then profile 2 drops it further to 330 (Only if Profile 1 applied and I close and re-open MSIAB)
I then apply profile 2 to drop men to 330

-> On start up apply Profile 1 550
Close and re-open MSIAB and apply Profile 2 330
(Don't set to apply on startup - As you'll be booting in safe mode a lot until you find your "sweet spot"
