Should I be finding blocks? Never have I seen blocks found more than 0 on my account page. I have thousands of shares...

Okay I think I get it, I had about 3000 shares of that 14M share round, about 1/13k chance of finding that block.

Simply accept that you'll never find a block.* I tell you it is easier this way. You need at least few - more than 10 - GH/s for a reasonable chance. In that 14M round with let say 3M shares yes, there is a reasonable chance. With 3k or 10k daily there is simply no hope in hell unless block is like 10 shares big and you supply at least 1 share = JACKPOT. But blocks like that are even rarer than chance to find a block with 3k shares out of 14M.  Wink

And I'm more ore less sure this are off to...

18496   2013-06-10 05:52:57   1:44:24   18792520   4816   0.00481197   none   240709   25.06020000    99 confirmations left
18493   2013-06-09 23:22:47   0:12:10   2401181   421   0.00209470   none   240653   25.04861000    43 confirmations left

Log doesn't how nothing that would would explain why I got 30% and 50% less...

EDIT: Wasn't the same hashrate. Lost 750 before block 18493 and got it back the next block...

If you call this fixed... Than yes... I know that we last 3TH that time so I do understend whay I went from 0.006 to 0.007 and I added some additional ASIC USBs to get to 0.008 but I have no clue why I got what I got on blocks 19493 and 18496.

I think it is time to say Slush is still not working and look for some other pool that has no problem with CGminer 3.1.1

I have found 7 blocks in the just about 2 years I have been mining on slush.  But ALL of those came in before ASICS, when my 1.5-2ghash was a decent number.

I haven't found any blocks in almost a year now...

EDIT: but I would like to say that my total payout during those 7 blocks was about 450btc.  Which means I'm ahead of the game by almost 100btc.  Definitely pays to mine with slush...

I wish I knew what bitcoin was gonna do back in 2011.  It was worth between $3-$5 for the longest time.  And I would save them up until I had like $300-$400 worth, and then I would be a good little bitcoiner and I would go spend them in the community.  I got a lot of cool shit, for basically free, but if I would have held on to all of them I could go buy myself a porsche, or a house... lol

same here discovered Bitcoin start of 2012, value was 5 GBP, i intended to start mining but i put it off due to BFL saying they were releasing ASIC very soon, well now im stuck with no Bitcoin, low hashrate and a heartbreaking realisation of missing out on at least 20-25k.

Well for now all I can do is hash away. I have a small farm of GPU, FPGAs and now ASICs mining. (Mostly GPUs though)

Imagine it, when the bitcoin price was 3$ and then buy a lot from them, apr. 1000 bitcoin (1-3 month reward from good job) and now sell it, u can still buy a house from that:)

Because of yesterday. 6 hours+ block in not in last 24 hours and block after that were short. So last 24 hours is not just today.

Is the 4+hour blocks normal here?  I'm new and only been mining for a week or two.  I only have 1600MH/s and it seems like a long time to just earn .0026 or so.

Edit:  I guess the 3 minute and the 4 minute right afterwards kinda balances things out a bit. Smiley

4+ is short... If you are mining with 1.6GH you should be getting about 0.015 not 0.0026. So I guess you are slower or you are not mining all the time. If you just started the number will go up slowly. This is the way DGM works... If interested you can read hire https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=57148.msg1955006#msg1955006 or ask (PM or forum)

Pool users close to your speed:
Rank   Id   DGM Estimate   Shares   Rate (MHash/s)
112   e928ec84   0.01513061   6,704   1,690
113   5d7860a5   0.01607279   6,639   1,674
114   906b1bc4   0.01587488   6,546   1,650
115   0b938696   0.01585955   6,544   1,650
116   f313718d   0.01525332   6,486   1,635
117   b978fca8   0.01547224   6,352   1,601

This is a pool data that you can get on IRC

[19:50] <Lucko> !average
[19:50] <mmbot> On average it will take 6.7 hours to find a block at 2790.7 Gh/s. 50% of blocks will be found in 4.6 hours. 95% in 20.0 hours. 99% in 30.7 hours.
[19:50] <mmbot> The pool should earn approximately 89.94 BTC per day.

So 4X0,015=0.06 but you need to take small part away since it is not 4 blocks a day. So If you look http://www.alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator and calculate your speed you will see that this is what you will get with your speed. But there is a variance of luck. Sometimes you get much more sometimes you get much less.

EDIT: Sorry wrong pool Smiley No not normal but it can happen Smiley Longest I seen was 14 hours+. But it doesn't happen offend...

To be honest, I'm not real sure how to figure out how many mH/s I do get other than using what's on the "Main Account" page on Slush's site. It says:

Average hashrate in last 10 rounds: 1716 Mhash/s

I've been mining non stop for about a week now with my rewards ranging from .00265261 to .00329058 which was the 4 minute one about 30 minutes ago.

So this is normal?

Thanks for the help

I made a mistake and thought you are asking for a different pool. It is normal... and reword looks right for your speed. You will have long and short blocks... On short blocks you will also see bigger variances since luck plays bigger part. You can be lucky or unlucky for short time but in a long term it evens out...
