Maybe someone can help me with this.  I did my first mining two days ago with Slush.  I ran it for about a day.  Now, the same exact command line gives me the following error:

 [2013-06-24 11:33:05] Started cgminer 3.2.2
[2013-06-24 11:33:05] Probing for an alive pool
[2013-06-24 11:33:06] Pool 0 slow/down or URL or credentials invalid

./cgminer -o http://api.bitcoin.cz:8332 -u username.workername -p password -I 12 --temp-cutoff 80

What gives?

Why don't you use:

stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333

so your command line would be like the following:

./cgminer -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u username.workername -p password -I 12 --temp-cutoff 80

Actually, cgminer recommends a "special" protocol setting for stratum connection:

cgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.bitcoin.cz -p 3333 ...

instead of http://

OP's problem could have been that redirection from api2 to stratum worked at his first try and it did not at the second one.

Me too. What do I do? Wait for it to get fixed?

Most people have a backup pool - when your main pool dies, you can configure cgminer to automatically switch to a backup pool. I use bitparking as my backup.

Nearly everything seems to be down,  I wake up this morning to find I've been mining on HHTT and EclipseMC all night.

Now hanging out on Atomic-Trade.com...

Maybe Slush has posted the transactions and some other included them in their block?

And this is the only pool I'm set up with...

First create new account on https://vircurex.com/register?referral_id=350-195 and active addresses for NMC, DVC, IXC (these are alt coins you get when you mine BTC on bitparking).

Then register on bitparking http://mmpool.bitparking.com/register with the vircurex addresses (and your BTC address).

Then run cgminer like this:

cgminer -o http://stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u USERNAME -p PASSWORD -o stratum+tcp://mmpool.bitparking.com:3333 -u USERNAME -p d=1

So do I.
Can't it be Slush himself?

BTW, with my last post, I've just passed the 55 activity level.. Smiley
