now there is a series of quick ones, so don't miss out....

Payout is stuck again, probably because of Block 269017 (#20797 on Slush's count) which seems to have no transaction fees.  I know that it will eventually happen, but it is annoying still....

I wish payouts happened quicker. I don't mind the long blocks, so as long as it's not every day!

True but man, if we had 2 - 12 hour blocks that's one day.

I can only see a single 12 hour block in the last 24 hours (the previous extra long one of 13 hours was on 8 Nov).  It's not the largest pool, and luck or randomness or whatever you want to call it has an impact, but it averages out on the long run.

Yeah, maybe i should try solo mining once see if that randomness has any impact. not making any pool bigger or smaller Cheesy

Maybe slush should have 1day/7days/1month/3months/6months/1year luck showing as luck is not with us again

Minimum is set to 0.01.

It seems a bit ridiculous that the pools don't have "empty my account" options. They probably have a lot of coin sitting there if you add up all that change from everyone on the pool.
I can understand a minimum payment for regular payouts to reduce fees and network traffic.

But how about if I haven't mined for a month? - maybe there should be some sort of auto monthly payout if you have been inactive for a long while..

Pool operators need to get more transparent and more vocal as there is a lot of money involved and people seem to have only partial ability to seek out help.

I am sure the minimum will be increased (or decreased depending how you look at it) as the price of bitcoin increases.
But I agree with your sentiments.

I guess the decreasing % of hashrate distribution for slush is because of people jumping ship due to the luck going down?

A couple of days ago we had 6% of the hash rate, now its 4%

I mean its still like just under 300TH/s in the pool, but what affect will it have on luck the smaller the hashrate we have?

I've been sticking with Slush because I believe its important to have diversity across the pools but it doesn't seem to be helping.

It's not ridiculous, it's a business model allowing  pool owners to earn extra BTC. I cant imagine the amount of forsaken BTC laying around there, lower or higher than 0.01.

Umm.. No.. It's totally ridiculous as this is a form of stealing.
A business model that revolves around theft is still theft. (I know its fractions of pennies for now..dust.. but still..could be worth more one day.)
Ridiculous in that it is unfair, not that its not a "smart idea" for the pool owners, its just unethical.

Anyways, as Trongersoll says, you can get your remaining coins from slush by closing your account. Thats just fine then. I'll have to look into the other pools..

I need help recovering my wallet. I re-installed my Windows today and lost one of my wallets in the process because I didn't backup the private key.

However, I have private key backed up for this wallet two weeks ago. But since then I created new receiving address. Now my balance shows zero and if I create a new receiving address it is not the same as what was created before the backup.

Need help! I'm using multibit.

I'm afraid you won't be able to recover your wallet as multibit wallet is non-deterministic (AFAIK).
However you could try scanning your HDD for deleted files using specialized software.

Stop using your computer. Now.
Give the HD to someone who can extract files from it, hoping they have not been rewritten already.

I can do some recovery work on the drive but would it help if I got my .wallet files back or do I still need the .key files?

Backup anything related to wallet. Then do recovery.

This is bad. It's a brand new Lenovo yoga and I can't even run my recovery tools on it. It's also a ssd drive. I'm screwed. I'll get a black eye when wife finds out.
