Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

To all people spamming me with IP lists on all possible channels Smiley. Please, stop this, I'm unable to find relevant messages now. I have many pages of unread emails in gmail and so on.

Everybody will be able to enter his email IP/address on profile page, stay tuned. I'm working on it.

What if we have multiple IP addresses? I have two miners here, one at my friend's house, and one at my parents' house. Will I be able to enter all 3 IP addresses?

I have a dynamic IP, but am using a DynDNS service to be reachable from the outside. Would I be able to use this domain?

Set the minimum payout to your confirmed rewards and it will automatically transfer to your wallet after it reaches the minimum amount.

I'm having lot of fun with another attack, but looks like IP whitelist really works. There is significant packet loss, but mining is still up. Without whitelist it would be already down completely, like earlier today. There is important ongoing change in pool architecture, so:

Please point your miners against api.bitcoin.cz

If you already changed miners to mining2.bitcoin.cz, you don't need change anything. I'll need to split website and mining backend to separate machines, so mining cannot use same IP as website anymore. Website will be still on mining.bitcoin.cz, miners on api.bitcoin.cz .

I'll send email to all registered users with all necessary changes with all that summary about IP whitelisting and necessary changes in miner configuration. I believe that this changes and updates will make pool more robust in future attacks.

lol, I found that the most efficient way of mining, is with GUIMiner set to run 4 miners, one for mining.bitcoin.cz and one for api.bitcoin.cz (I have two GPU's)

They switch by timing out, so idle time is reduced, while your Mhash/s stays the same

Hi Slush,
I'm getting a lot of warning about miner being idle and I think it only started happening after you restarted balancer. Is there a way to fix this or we'll just have to wait until ddos is over?

Hi, second ddos wave started few moments before I restarted balances, but it wasn't related. Currently pool is under ddos, which leads to packet loss, which explain your idling miner. But it is keeping that attack much better than earlier today and I'm still trying to improve it a little.

It's really pathetic that people would DDOS a mining pool...

Keep up the good work Slush.

Slush, I have a new dynamic IP every 24 hours thanks to how my ISP works.

I have no idea how to tell your whitelister to accept  *.myisp.domain ranges for possible IPs.

So far it seems it only accepts single IPs or a DNS string that resolves to a single IP.

Both dns name and IP change 24h, and I would miss half a day of mining if you restrict worker useage like this without full domain ranges.

--

I have not received an email about the whitelist / whitelist format yet.

--

Someone should seriously figure out the origins of the ongoing DDOS attacks (they've been going on since > 5 week snow) and sue the living crap out of these ***holes.

Ho-Hum.
