Better safe than sorry ...

Yep, I've shifted my miners elsewhere for now, just hoping to understand the cause. I'm sure it's nothing nefarious, but I like to know that I have access to my coins, i.e. liquidity.

liquidity?

LOL!!

How much time did you guys waste transferring your miners because you didn't get a pay out immediately!?

Want fries with that?

I can honestly say, after using slush for a couple of days while btcguild was down, that I feel sorry for the people who mine with slush full time.

Can you explain why?

Should be obvious - if you don't switch pools when one is DDoS'd then your rig is sitting idle not making money.

Slush - what's the word on service? Are you considering any kind of SiteBacker DNS load balancing to help with traffic distribution between colos - that's helped some of my environments with DDoS.

I'm sorry, but I think smackdady is all right.
After atack in sunday, I have about 0.011 BTC for any block with my 440 MHash - about 0.3 for day.
On Monday, I have only 0.008 for block. Now with ~210 MHash I have 0.003 - 0.005 for block.
I wait result today but supose, I will have only 0.11 BTC for 24h.

On btcguld, with 230 MHash I have about 0.0050 for each block (0.163 BTC in last 24 hours). This about 40% more.
Something its not good with this pool.

A swing that wide is not uncommon when comparing two pools over a 24 hour period.  The other day BTC Guild had -39% luck.  BTC Mine had an insane +90% luck.  You would have made significantly more at BTC Mine than BTC Guild, even with a 2% fee vs 0%.  Pools are NOT immune to short term variance.  They are simply more likely to provide stable variance over a reasonable time frame.  You can see at BTC Guild our variance over the last two difficulties was +0.2% and -0.4%.  But those numbers included swings from -30 to +30 if you were to look at any given 24 hour period.

RIP BTC Guild, April 2011 - June 2015

OK, I'm wait some day, and compare result on btcguild and slush, but I dont have account on btcmine, and registration is closed.
I may to easy compare, because, I have one comp with 210 MHash, and second with 230 Mhash.

The bitcoin you get also varies according to the number of users in a pool. More members means less bitcoin.
I use deepbit as backup while i mine in slush. In deepbit(0.04000) i get less for same hashes than slush(0.06000). Reason deepbit has more members & the mined coins divided to more members than in slush.
I also tried with mineco.in, where i get more bitcoins/block than slush ~0.2234, but when i get coin is the question.

DNS load balancing does not help DDoS prevention, unfortunately. There is not real way how to prevent DDoS when attacker uses 1.5 GB/s of traffic and tries to open 2.2 million connections per second from various IPs, like last attack on Sunday.

hello all, I would ask for a clarification on "Unconfirmed reward", or rather after how many blocks they become "Confirmed reward" and the confirmed reward will be the same amount of the unconfirmed?

Earnings from blocks are moved from 'unconfirmed' to 'confirmed' after 100 blocks in bitcoin network. It is basic rule how Bitcoin generation works, it's not 'artifical' rule made by pool.

I'm sorry that I'm not so responsive and chatty those days, I'm very busy. Of course I'm keeping my eyes on pool service all the time.

Anyone else having payout issues? I don't seem to be able to trigger a payout regardless of how far below my confirmed amount I set the threshold. I've also tried setting the threshold to my confirmed amount plus a small buffer (less than my share of the next confirmed round) to try and trigger that way). I have a valid wallet.

Yes, there was small trouble in payouts on today morning, it has been repaired around 10:00 UTC.

You cannot compare you per round payment from one pool to another.  While deepbit does pay you less per round for a given hash rate, they will also be solving more blocks within a defined amount of time because of their higher collective hash rate.  (All other things being equal)  A fair comparison would be the amount of payout you get per day for the exact same hash rate.

Yes, per block cannot be compared.
I forgot to say it. I compared with per day only. But the values i gave is per block.
In deepbit i get 1.85 btc/day(prop) while in slush i get 2 btc/day.

No, look

http://mining.bitcoin.cz/
This 50 BTC is divided among all of the users that contributed to that round, weighted by the number of shares that they earned. Therefore, the reward earned by a given user is given by the following formula:

(50 BTC - 1 BTC fee) * (shares found by user's workers) / (total shares in current round)

It doesn't say anything about a score system anymore

Is the pool running smooth?

We have an extrabad luck and a lot of looong blocks.
Of course it's a probability, but can it also be some kind of hidden attack aimed not pool servers itself but provider infrastructure, gateways or something, and making it operate slower and the pool be less effective than it should?

Or it's just my paranoia?)

Well, I checked everything and it actually looks fine, no reason to think there's an attack. My experience is talking me that it's just bad luck.

Processing of shares can take some time, so it is pretty normal that you see 'none' for freshly mined blocks. So - yes - check again.
