Slush is my first try for a pool..
But after reading a bit left and right...
I'm moving towards Eligius...
We'll see how it goes!
Anyone knows anything about a rumor about decrease of difficulty in the next 2 weeks?

Do not consider me a traitor, but I'm leaving. I counted how many I pissed away money and was horrified! Good luck to everyone!

In theory you could switch from one 'unlucky' pool to another only to have another stretch of bad luck and then you switch one more time and same thing. This all assuming it is just bad luck and not something else. Dividing your mining power among several pools is one approach that might help and it might not, as one pool is not 'aware' of your bad luck at another and thus 'thinks' it has to make something up to you.

I bet you will not like the way Eligius handles their payouts (waiting in a que, possibly for days) as you have been spoiled by Slush ;-)

seems like everyone is jumping ship, right now we are at 4067693.594 Ghash/s for the server, we were over 51 this morning and closer to 56 yesterday...

And/or maybe the sudden decrease is due to the fact that the "testing" of newly manufactured mining equipment has come to an end, that the equipment is being packaged up and shipped to the end user/customer that has been patiently waiting for his/her pre-order device to show up at their doorstep such that they can then place it back on the Bitcoin Network attached to the pool of their choice.

Good thats more for me ! Seriously though - in this game you have to take the rough with the smooth! There will be times like this when blocks are few and far between and there will be other times when they are plentiful... The long term figure is the important one...

This is possible with his miner. And when we have to pay the rent today and now, look at a profit. My hire miner caught one block for our pool. But now I just watch from the other pool and really want to restore everything to return. Good luck to all!

The total network hashrate is not decreasing! In fact, the increase is accelerating very quickly. The previous two small difficulty adjustment were just the calm before the storm.

A bunch of ordered SP 30's shipped and are coming on line at Spon's DC. Not going to get any better anytime soon.

I have 2 xia-class miners (machine detail: http://www.lketc.com/engoods/show/252.aspx), each works at 1000GH/s and present to their pool worker by mining_proxy, and the mining_proxy shows normal diff 1880. My Internet connection is 1xEV-DO, which redials every 3 hours. Thus, every time redial, the diff will reset to 8, then increase to about 1800 slowly. Before diff increase to 1800, pool shows my hashrate lowly. If Slush pool find a block in a short time, I'll get a very poor income. So, problem 1: I want to fix my diff at 1024 or higher, is it feasible? and how? and problem 2: Is the normal diff 1880 be sent to every xia-class completely, or half? even if I have 3 xia-class, diff will be sent one third to everyone?

Could you explain the internet connection redial situation? How long does the disconnect/reconnect take? This pool has vardiff and its problably acting like you are pool hopping from what you are describing about your hash rate staying low after the redial situation. I would start with getting stable internet and then either get better mining software or look at some Dragon miner(I'm assuming since you have to adjust difficulty yourself) threads to see what they are set at. I remember some saying either 1024 or 512 depending on machine.

IPS will disconnect all 1xEV-DO device that is online continue 3 hours, reconnect by win7's dial-up internet. The disconnect/reconnect takes about 5s. Could you explain the detail of vardiff? I set diff at 1024 in machine software, but mining_proxy also shows diff 1880. Mining in btcguild, mining_proxy will show 1024, of couse, I set pool worker diff at 1024. So, xia-class can mine fully in btcguild. But I still like slush pool more.
