Looks to me to be a miner at Ghash.IO that's too lazy to even bother with managing his IXC. Isn't it not the same address with a total of 500,000 coins? Why do you think it is 4 million coins?

Dear members,
I just want to take the opportunity to let you know that:
- I think the foundation, despite been a good idea, should be made up of people really able to help the coin: funds, ideas, development, marketing, connections. That's why it's my intention to kick myself out. It's even true I feel useless and unable to help as I wanted. Let my seat go to someone able to inject life in this coin;
- I removed my posts, but only the useless ones (lol). It's my way to tell you: it's time to abandon this thread for a new one. It could be nice to summarise these 200+ pages in a few messages inside the new thread;
- After a long period I realised the following: this coin could have no future, unless it will apply a roadmap very close to what Luke proposed to us, included a professional website, a constantly updated code, and a change of name. Yes, the last one is the hardest, but the right name is all. A crypto-coin is an intangible good. The average customer's attention is caught by a good name. IXcoin, no matter what you and me can think or like, has been unable to get people's attention;
- The last but not the least: this coin needs a clear, credible and established purpose. E.g.: to be the brother of a famous actor can help, but it's not what people expect. Even iXcoin's kid (i0coin) has a clear purpose (quick transactions), not iXcoin. Without a well established purpose there is no real future.
Best Regards
I'm glad to hear from you, Deadsea33. I hope when things improve [should they ever] you will become active again with iXCoin. I agree with everything you're saying - even the renaming. Although on that front, I'm very skeptical and would go with the opinions of Thomas and CEX.io, given such a big move can back-fire which could ruin what's left of iXCoin. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's! P.S. - Sadly, that lambo will have to wait until 2015...[or perhaps a lot longer]. lol You'll be missed, fratello. Cheers!

the 8.x version of iX is not recommended, i would suggest anyoner looking to use a client go with the one on ixcoin.org which points to 9.2 iX coin source and windows qt done by Ahmed and Groundrod, tested also by me although no binary from me appears there (if you want my build search back in the threads here for it or I can up it to github)

Nice chart, Deadeea33.
I would add 3 things to make it a more accurate timeline of important events which shaped or totally changed the direction of iXCoin:
- May 2013, Vlad2Vlad hijacks the unknown and abandoned iXCoin alt-coin [and BCT thread] and tirelessly promotes iXcoin [as the next Bitcoin] all over the internets, thus, bringing in numerous investors and building an actual community for iXCoin.
- ~February 2014, Vlad2Vlad, after harassing a lot of very important people, brings [the Powerhouse of Crypto] CEX.io to the iXCoin board of directors.
And finally, if you're gonna mention Frictionless' code update, which was mostly a cut and paste, you really should add something for Ahmed and Groundrod who have done a lot of actual code work on the 9.3 update.
I really hope they finish it so they can get their much deserved 50k IXC bounty. They earned it!
Cheers!

another adjustment needed to that chart. the code is already up to date with the latest bitcoin base(It has been for about a month or 2). all that is needed is for groundrod to finish his work on compiling of the QT and then it can be released (although merged mining hasnt been tested i believe the unit tests have).

Ahmed, you're a good guy and I can tell you work hard but if you guys don't know when or if this will be done I'm gonna try to find someone to do it. Thomas Nasakioto wanted this done more than 6 months ago which means this was an important update, and if our partners are gonna launch iXpay and other products early next year, we really need the pools/wallets to be updated to the latest code. So I'll look for someone who can get this done ASAP and maybe the bounty can be split somehow or you guys can work out an understanding between coders - something equitable for everyone. Thanks again, to you and groundrod for all your hard work. Cheers!

As you guys can see by deadsea's chart - he has also quit the iXCoin board.
So at this point the remaining members are Cinnamon and I.
If I find a good coder I will also try to get some other things done to help improve iXCoin's image. Given there is no bounty for most of these things I will either pay out of pocket or do a fund raiser [or both].
At that point I will work to find some additional members for the board who will be able to add value.

the code is done. GR compiled some binaries. its just merged-mining that needs testing. the best people to test this is ghash.io or another merged mining pool. You cant expect me to be able to do this when i dont have the code to do this.

Sorry, I am not so tech saavy. Is the update ready to be tested on Ghash.io? If so, I can try asking Jeff a favour. What link should I give him? Thanks Yes i would say so. atleast with a little bit of hashing power The link to give him is: https://github.com/IXCoin-Dev/IXCoin/tree/iXcoin

Does anyone know what happened to ixco.in? It's been down for over a week? Have they quit the site or just doing upgrades? https://ixco.in/

IXCOIN.ORG: work in progress.
After I did take the time to read ixcoin.org, I realised there are still errors and old info to update.
Correct. Thomas gave me strict guidelines so anything which wasn't specifically allowed I have to verify before I correct it. Probably an overkill but I won't change anything, not even typos until I get the OK from him. His trust means a lot to me so I wanna respect his wishes. I have done some updates to it already which took me quite some time but it's not my personal site so I cannot do as I please with it. I am talking to a skilled coder now to help me improve the .org website and to also help me build and release iXcoinFoundation.org.

I have been saying since the very beginning that buying coins for their [copy and paste] features was a chasing after the wind and that a great name would prove to be much more valuable.
That said, iX is not a bad name, a lot can be done with i, X or iX made to look like an X.
However, given IXC is perceived as a dead or dying coin it may be easier to rebrand so I have mixed feelings about this.
I would be ok with a new name as long as:
A) It's a better, more marketable name than iX.
And
B) Thomas and CEX.io are ok with this important change and also agree with the new name.
This is still Thomas Nasakioto's coin and CEX.io is still our partner whom we need like air.
That said, if anyone feels like they have a better name then let's hear it.
It could be a simple change like going from iX to iCoin or XCoin. That way we rebrand while at the same time retain some of our original identity. That might be a good way to go.
What say you?

Sadly one cannot dictate what a coin will be used for once it is released into the wild. Doing so would make it the enemy of the people instead of a useful tool.
Any [popular] crypto with [semi] anonymous capabilities [because none are truly anonymous] will always be used for illegal activities. Just like cash, which is much more anonymous than Bitcoin et al, will always be the preferred currency for criminal activity, which is why any govt would much rather prefer Bitcoin over cash.
But don't worry, the govt will soon force everyone to identify their wallets so all of that illegal activity [along with all our privacy and freedom] will soon come to a sudden halt.
And I agree that any popular name will first require a lot of development and especially marketing, a la doge, and I think our partners are aware of this fact.

Force people to identify their wallets?
No way, that would be a sure way to kill this coin and put us on the top of the community's most hated devs list.
Although I agree with some regulation I really don't like where Bitcoin is headed, but unlike 99% of the people here I also realize that it's inevitable and unstoppable.
That said, I don't wanna be the first to take away the freedom and [partial] anonymity provided by crypto currencies at this point.
