Thanks to the person who sold me 6,000,000 DVC on Coingather.
I'm going to keep accumulating Devcoin and might be able to help with development soon.

1. How do you know this is a bug of the coin? 2. Is it a bug in the client or the coin itself? I guess the client, if so, easy to fix Uh, I hold a massive quantity of DVC. I've sent multiples of up to 20m at a time. I've never had an issue, so not sure what he's talking about. Might have been an old bug or something but I was sending a lot even in 2015/2016 without issues. This only applies to a large number (about one billion, in the example 739 099 918 DVC) if all the funds are accumulated at the same address DVC. When sending via QT wallet, owner will be warned about the amount of commission. If you send out from daemon "devcoind sendtoaddress", in this case, without warning, all the remains will go to the fee. I showed the results of research blockchain what was on the block 237497. Time: 1466623710 (06.22.2016 19:28:30) - at the time was the current wallet. 1Jw3SwT14VkHhxg74aVWQxTCZnTAonV2Fu lost all of his coins. This money mined on address 1HM1haADUGW9zxNQz6n2x7A5W7PB1n2TVn. But on the block 237717 http://block.d.evco.in/block/77491fbea625f78fdbcc6cf54439e5347df53e675142dc70ec3c7cd9b1bb8bb4 he also lost their. I think that this should check and test developers in testnet. But the DVC holders just be careful not to keep everything on the same address and do not trust the automatic sending.

Who is currently handling the development?
This is excellent question because I think devs get most of block reward. If someone wants to help develop the project, how does that work currently? If we make price go up would devs get interested again? I want to help bring this currency back to life.

We've seen some activity on CG for DVC recently. If the price doubles, we can add a BTC market.

The prices have been insanely low since we ran out of exchanges that had DVC/BTC markets. For a LONG time I used to buy at 3 satoshis, sell at four, and had huge amouns of bitcoins sitting on the buy side. Of course that meant I lost a huge amount of bitcoins in January of 2016 when an exchange ran off with all the money. I tried to work with BTER on their CNY/DVC market but they discountinued it. The prices were insanely low there too but I was slowly building up the buy-side again. I really have no interest in getting stuck with a bunch of LTC or DOGE so have no plans to build up buy-sides in those markets. Have you been following the price lists at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/indevcoins.html and http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/sharesindvc.html ? Since Open Transactions is still not apparently ready for mass-market use, it looks like I will have to implement those assets and shares on the HORIZON (NHZ) platform. (Horizon is known as HZ on Poloniex). If you are interested in buying any of those listed assets and/or shares please let me know, I will try to implement the ones people are looking to buy before others although eventually many of them will end up being implemented. You can buy them using DeVCoins, of of course the price lists at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/digitalisassets.html give the prices of those same things in other currencies too, not just in DeVCoins. The page at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/companies.html shows the latest holdings of the Corps whose shares are listed on the shares price pages, it shows the total holdings of each Corp expressed in terms of DeVCoins, based on the latest price of DeVCoins. Of course it all adds up to a heck of a lot more DeVCoins than actually exist, the page is simply ujsing the last posted value of DeVCoins as a "unit of account" to add up the total value of the holdings of each Corp. IS THERE A GIT REPOSITORY for DevCoin, that is is more up to date than the ancient one that I have? I have a new site, http://LFM.knotwork.com/ that is a membership site (with a free member level of membership) in which I have been providing downloads of coin source code, basically .tar.gz (.tgz) archives of the code I keep updated from Git repositories. But I figure before I add DeVCoin to the downloads I should check if there is a newer version than the one I am currenctly using.... You are of course all welcome to join http://LFM.knotwork.com/ (LFM Knotwork) for free to see what I have there so far to promote various coins... -MarkM-

Looks like Hunterbunter is the admin https://github.com/Unthinkingbit/charity/commit/28381870be88512ad6ed14493d625d581b455fd5+Rating Earnings: 5 Shares +Hunterbunter,1LHVxAkzcN8BzSdrT7J2W3CCpiz5Rgj72E,5-Leader(+5 for being the leader) Problem, the leader didn't even log in the last 4 months https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=24440 (Last Active: 07:44:34 le 28/10/2016) Also, on devcoin.org ( http://devcoin.org/devcoin-wallet.html) says that the official forum of Devcoin is http://coinzen.org/, that redirects to http://devcointalk.org/, which is a forum full of spam I think a big cleaning must be done... And I'm not talking about the spammed forum

Yes Sir! This is the repository with latest code https://github.com/coinzen/devcoin/ it has the updates from @sidhujag, @belovachap and me. I contributed a few small things like testing and proof reading, yet I still have admin access to this repo and I'm looking for new contributors to send PRs. One important thing for development, there are several issues reported here https://github.com/coinzen/devcoin/issues which is excellent since we already know what we could improve. Also, since devcoin code base is 99.9% similar to bitcoin, priority number one is update devcoin to latest bitcoin stable release, which will add new API features and fix lots of bugs, security vulnerabilities. Let's bring Devcoin back to life!

Well i have cleaned up the forum as a start Fuzzybear Great, thanks Who control coinzen.org though? Because there are many links to it and although the root page redirects to devcointalk, all the other pages (like http://coinzen.org/index.php/board,49.0.html here: https://github.com/coinzen/devcoin/) shows this: Page Not Found The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please try the following:
If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly. Click the Back button in your browser to try another link. Use a search engine like Google to look for information on the Internet.

The issue queue is just enough, and we have an IRC channel, do we need more?

+1 I set devcointalk.org back up ages ago at the time of the first clone coins explosion and it was getting harder to track all the devcoin threads on here. Coinzen came about when a few of the altcoins tried to band togerther to make a forum for all... I was happy to redirect to the forum but I was concerned as I did not have access to the DB or server and did not know the admin people. As time then showed... coinzen went away suddenly without warning and I tried to get access to or a copy of the DB so I could at least save some info posted on there by the devcoin community but to no avail i am afraid. Thus I poiinted the devcointalk.org back at my original site I had setup for the community. I am happy to keep this forum up and running though agreed the traffic there is really not much and posts are mostly spam if anything, but it is there as a resource for the community to use and will not suddenly disappear. If anyone wants to be an admin, or has ideas and suggestions for better categories site organisation etc feel free to let me know. Fuzzybear

By all means, if you have the time and inclination to restore devcoin then do it. When I took over from Unthinkingbit, capital was fleeing devcoin through devtome, which wasn’t even close to paying itself off. With a sinking price I didn’t act quickly enough (nor really had the power) to stem it before the bottom fell out and exchanges starting dying or delisting dvc. Without exchange support, there was no price support, and without price support the shares were worthless as an incentive, so no one wanted to do anything to help fix it. There was basically a hyperinflation of devcoin going on due to capital flight - devtome was a money sink that never paid itself off. I think in two years it amassed something like 0.5btc in advertising revenue. Since then, I’ve tried a handful of restart attempts but it’s obvious that I’m not cut out for the job. If you or anyone else would like to take over that’s fine with me. Unthinkingbit is in charge of accounting, everyone else is apparently in charge of whatever he left them in charge of when he resigned as leader. He’s the only one we have to inform. Who’d like to do it? Just say so. Devcoin is a great cause and if people have the interest in redefining it, I would never stand in the way. Whoever takes over should focus on getting exchange support again. To get that you need to get someone to update the code to the latest bitcoin branch. Either kill, or clean up devtome so advertisers that actually pay will touch it. The only thing I really manage is the 'ongoing list' and I've purged that as much as I can. It can probably be purged further, but without exchange support the whole thing is a bit moot. I put this together when I took over to track who's supposed to be doing what: http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_human_resourcesHunterbunter

The doom of Devcoin was inevitable. The structure on which distribution was based was all wrong. Do you still give rewards for writing articles and stuff like that? Probably with the right distribution model it could be great again.
