Hey guys, RapidBalls now has a jackpot of 202235 DVC, along with the chance to win 5000x your bet! Jackpot is still growing but nobody has taken it yet. Hey Ranlo, I never knew who runs RapidBalls but I want to say thanks now I do...I won 10,000 DVC back in February.... I am a total skeptic about any site offering prizes/freebies (sorry) but when I won I nearly fell of my chair Nice site

I just like to help support the sites that support DVC. Past that, I have no affiliation with it. Glad to hear you won though!

How could devcoin keep the miners get only 10% of the coins? In another way, how it implements?if someone else may change the file's data or change the client so that he can cheat the system. Which part of the source code is responsible for it.Can it prevent the miners cheat the developers, like change some docs in the source code or client? thank you very much for helping me

The process of Devcoin mining calls up a receiver file that contains all contributors wallet addresses in it each time a block is solved. The receiver files mix the addresses in a random order, and there are 9 locations that host the files, ensuring integrity and duplicity of results. Neither the miners nor the individuals who will be receiving can change anything, it is coded into the protocol and would require major work and group consensus to change. It is reliable and trustless, and is a primary innovation of Devcoin.

Looking forward to your reply ,thank you very much

I understand Devcoin, but I really don't see this currency taking off. There's no incentive to use it. There's no sound monetary protocol. And the market clearly does not see it as any more advantageous than other currencies.
I get the ethical standpoint, but again, as a developer or creative artist, the question remains: Why demand devcoin over bitcoin?

A currency should have static inflation instead of 0. Bitcoin is more of a commodity. A currency needs a formal process to be able to accept work for payment.. Devcoin is the only currency that does that and its a distributed pay for work scheme. You get the best of both worlds. Mining power without giving all coins to miners aswell as giving coins for work done. It is better than any other alt out there I believe market hasnt taken notice yet. Now I created a new type of pay for work which is a business I created (a penny auction site): devcoinauctions.com The site is compensated by devcoin shares to offer items for sale and profits are given back to devcoin so basically I can envision tons of businesses competing for shares and bidding up the devcoin market price as a result. The incentive to do that would be 1) marketing the conpany under the devcoin community model 2) have community help with the business thru work needing to be done paying by shares 3) Business operator gets paid in shares to run the site as work..

Why demand devcoin over bitcoin?
Yes, but with devcoin: You don't have to go thru the process of the free market to find someone who likes your work well enough to be willing to pay you in bitcoin. So, you are free to just do what you like, free your mind, and just do the art... post it online... follow the devcoin rules, and voila, devcoins arrive in your wallet.

The issue is there still has to be value in Devcoin. If everyone is earning coins (180m a month) and nobody is buying, it doesn't matter if you have 10k or 10 trillion of them: they are worthless. We need to find ways to get money in to the system. It's a lot like Bitcoin and what its problems were/are; people have to add money or the value goes down until it has none anymore.
