The distance between bolts (the two flanges on the front of the case have holes for bolts) is 18 5/16" on a standard rack, therefore the MAXIMUM width of a server is 17 3/4" or it does not slide in. FYI: http://www.server-racks.com/19-rack.htmlClearly I'm looking at the dimensions of an abnormal server rack (maybe an open rack?), then. Anyway, I sent an e-mail. No, I believe you have been given the incorrect dimensions by someone who was careless and also knows nothing about what "standards" are in the industry or they would have caught their error. This does not inspire confidence. Not to be a total dick here, but if they have decided to hire you as the go between for them and the forum, you need to have a slotted time each day to ask questions on the telephone. Emailing a company that is non responsive to email is not helpful. At this point right now that would mean basically not getting any answers, as my e-mails go to one of their PR people and then it gets bounced to people all over apparently in the search for answers. I can ask my contact for their phone number or skype or something if you want, but if I was on the phone with them it'd probably be, "Okay, I'll go send a message to so and so about this question." Does anyone know a consumer protection lawyer or do you want me to go to one? I do want you to go to one. I tried to contact something like 10 lawyers in the state of California Saturday but have yet to hear back from even a single one. Maybe the fact that every contact form had the same pattern could be the reason, but i would really like anyone to help me contacting a lawyer. Everybody just light up a bowl, pop a cork, pull a tab, whatever is legal is your jurisdiction... we will hear from Hashfast soon enough... although hopefully tomorrow (Tuesday, there at the practical end of the world's timezones in California).
While I was not impressed by the stupid advertising raffle, I still think that Hashfast are fundamentally decent folks and will do right, that they intend to do what it takes to ensure that MPP customers, especially in Batch 1, make it through this delay intact. HF can't roll back the difficulty or instantly conjure up extra boards, but they have other options already discussed here, and probably some that haven't occurred to us. So let's see what they do. I'm optimistic that it will work. everyone would, if there where reasons to think so. Such as like pictures of the pcbs, real deadlines, not the middle november one that will be missed, real feedbacks from them, not them hiding behind fantasies and non existent NDAs, etc.

Yeah, those numbers don't make sense now that I look at the rack specs. 20.5” (482 mm) is the width of a normal server rack, which is given for the BJ. None of the other numbers conform to a normal #U size. I'll pass another e-mail over.
Well the dimension between rack posts is ~17.5" (technically a little wider but there isn't suppose to be a metal to metal fit between chassis wall and the rack post). Chassis widths (excluding ears or slides) are usually ~17.25" +/- 0.25". The 19" is the nominal dimensions and is larger than the space between posts. Still the numbers do appear to be complete nonsense. The width would need to be ~ 17" excluding rackmount ears to fit between the rack posts. The height would be in increments of 1.75" minus 1/8" for clearance 6.875" for 4U). In your clarification ask them to provide the H, W, D with each dimension. They just got back to me... Do you want to ask again to specify which dimension is which?

There was a typo in the Sierra size as suspected; e-mail as of a couple of minutes ago says: 17” x 16” x 7”
This has been corrected in the previous post
Thanks. I am assuming 7" H X 17" W X 16" D. Yeah, that's my guess too, but I can ask again if you and DnT wanna confirm

Cool, I'm gonna go drink a beer and not think about this toooo much until I hear back about the refund situation. Between a full time job, volunteering, and coming here, this has spanned an 11 hour day and I'm a little tired.

Understood, take care buddy. Thanks for giving us some insight into the inner workings of Hash Fast. I hope they are able to sort through whatever their current problems may be and get their hardware shipped soon for everyone's sake. Every time I look at the expected ROI from all the ASIC hardware I bought personally and through group buys, a cute little kitten is murdered inside my heart.

So why they're making you the announcer/go to guy now tacotime?
They used to post here like daily and now they basically all disappeared. All of em.
Shitty situation. Updates needed but they're hiding behind a guy - whom they take ages to email back to.

I read through the Perseus whitepaper. Uniquify is the real deal and if they say chips in October, they mean chips in October. 400GH is huge, but I bet they will probably need to be under clocked to be thermally stable.

Yeah. Up until about the 18th, all the Hashfast people would post here. Now nothing.. Where are my 12 Baby Jets?.. I expressed to them when ordering that I was coming from 1.2 year wait at BFL. They kept telling me they're nothing like BFL, they're on schedule, blah blah. They seem more like BFL every day. With the Hashfast Baby Jet drawing, going silent, posting for ad space but not here, and generally their change of tone. They all seemed like good people on the phone, now they just refer me to the fine print TOS. That's cool and all but whatever happened to them wanting their customers to succeed?

Where is the PR where uniquify announced that they where on schedule for having the chips ready at the end of october? I was sure to have read it, but not it disappeared...
"we at uniquify are confident that we will see the chips ready by the end of october... bla bla". Bum, gone.

This, with a maybe added. Pics of everything in the next 10 days. (because without the pics of everything, they will have no reason not do delay till the 20th of december)

The annuncment should come for the iceminer asset, so there should at least be an announcement. It will be vague and useless, yes. Then they will "carry on" until december, when they will ship from the 25th to the 31th.
And if they file for bankruptcy we will have the first open source 28nm asic design ever.
