So how does CPU mining work? I thought the CPU power goes to the Boinc software running in the background?

GPU1: 75 degree, 840kh
GPU2: 84 degree 670kh

I'm not having a VGA or HDMI connected with the GPU2.
According to  the program open monitor GPU2 is running only at core clock 750. GPU1 runs at 1000.  (Both actually overclocked to 1000 with afterburner. ) The system has 8GB but open Monitor tells me it uses only 2GB.

Settings for both: thread concurrency: 24550, work size: 512, intensity: 20, vektor: 1
Both running with the guiminer scrypt => cgminer

Could anybody help me to run them with the same speed of nearly 840.

did you try work size 256? I suggested that in one of my previous posts. Why is gpu2 running @ 750?

I moved it to 1000 but its running only at 750. I don't k know why. Work size 256 doesnt help.
The cards are: 2x r9-290 from gigabyte

Does it make sense to CPU mine with a weak CPU (Core i3) ? How many GRC can I expect to earn at this stage, approximately?

I remain very interested in Gridcoin, but I run miners to make money, so I'm going to let the software go another couple of revisions before I invest any more time in this.  

Try installing Gridcoin and Boinc into c:\Program Files folder. There may be some permission issues for folders.

I'm running it as admin.  It is installed into the /Username/Documents/Gridcoin  folder.  BOINC is also installed to the documents folder in /BOINCprogram   and /BOINCdata.

Gridcoin.conf has been modded to reflect this.

I think I had that once, but once I ran it as admin it seemed to work. What dir did you install Gridcoin in?

So really, the GRC software is completely separate from BOINC? 
This is just a scryptcoin distro that looks for a running instance of BOINC, and then hands out rewards based on BOINC utilization?

I'm not a developer, but this seems like it would be awfully easy to hack.  How is the proof of work verified?

Not trying to be antagonistic, but I think GRC is about to increase in popularity, and with that, flaws will be exploited.  It seems like a natural step in the evolution of GRC would be for BOINC to be handled at the pool server, with each connected miner appearing as a device in BOINC.

Miners would simply point their mining client at the pool, same as they would with any other scrypt coin.  This would require the pool server software to break up and parse out BOINC work units to the individual miners.  I'm sure this is no small task, but it probably needs to happen if GRC is to succeed.

Boinc credits are 3rd party API verified.  There is a 5000grc reward to hack it.  Have at it.

Maybe I'll have at it, when I can get it working in the first place.  No one has answered my previous posts about being unable to open the mining console.

Yeah, I figured running it at all is a security risk.  I was using my test rig.

I updated to the latest client 1.1.5.5 -g71 and am in the process of transferring from a bloated old wallet A to a new wallet B. The problem is when I tried to send 5K across, it remained as "unconfirmed" in wallet B for a whole day now. When I tried to use a back-up of wallet A, it does not even show the transaction after syncing up to the latest. Ever since then, when I tried to send again from wallet A, it does not even show up in wallet B. Any idea how to resolve this?

Hello guys!  I'm using the guiminer scrypt with r9-290 and got for 24 hours mining 6 accepted and 15 stale, is that normal? If not how to reduce the stale rate? Both GPU are at intensity 18 and 24550 concurrency

I just noticed Gridcoin is writing HUGE debug log files in the Appdata Roaming Gridcoin directory. For example: debug.log which might be a backup is 4,505 KB and debug2.log which is being added to in real time is now 2,328,818 KB - over 2.3 gig and growing. I don't think I've ever turned on logging when running Gridcoin.

Also, I notice that recent versions have added a line to gridcoin.conf that says UpdatingLeaderboard=false which might explain why the leaderboard screens show nothing on my system for the last few days. My old backup gridcoin.conf files don't have that line and I'm pretty sure I did not insert it manually, but my head is spinning with all the changes.          

Is this stuff normal? It seems odd to me.

Edit: Details - current version v1.1.5.5-g71-prod, obtained from the msi, installed less than an hour ago, running on Win7 64.

Bump and update.

I removed the log files from the Appdata Roaming Gridcoin folder and took the "UpdatingLeaderboard=false" line out of gridcoin.conf then started gridcoin-qt fresh. It generated a new pair of log files and it added the "UpdatingLeaderboard=false" line back into gridcoin.conf.

With that level of unexplained I/O overhead, I won't test gridcoin further for a while.
