Re-posting my Public Service Announcement:

If you are new to Nxt and don't want to read through 1249 pages of posts, come to the wiki:
- Learn about Nxt
- Get started
- get basic questions answered in the FAQ and common problems pages
- Learn how to set up a public node on a VPS
- read up on the Nxt high-level API, which you can use to build apps, games, clients, utilities, and more
- find additional resources for programmers, including suggested methods for handling transactions, a PHP library, and more.
- check out the current draft version of the Nxt whitepaper, which is being built and refined by top community contributors (it's still rough, but there's lots of great content already)

Also remember there are great forums with lots of info and support for beginners. Many of the best Nxt wiki articles are based on information originally contributed here:
- The nxtcrypto.org forum
- The nextcoin.org forum

Wiki contributors pull information from these threads every day to keep the wiki up to date. You can also help contribute, or translate.

This thread is long and daunting for new folks, and most of the conversation here is not helpful for beginners.  So don't get frustrated -- come to the places where new folks are welcomed and pampered!

after the account is activated for forging every NXT in that wallet is eligable for forging, no need to be in the account for 24 hours.

Source: I transfered 1 NXT to a fresh account and after 1440 blocks i sent 50000 NXT there and was able to forge with all instantly.

Update 6: Bitcoin Miami Conference

JustaBit (who has worked with Bitcoin Magazine in the past for Peercoin and Feathercoin) introduced me to Bitcoin Magazine's Elizabeth. She was very receptive to Nxt, JustaBit spent some time outlining it's importance. They have a new head writer and wants us to follow-up with the Coindesk article. JustaBit will make this happen.

It is ok. It might be a good thing for big account not to forge at this early stage of NXT because the little guys can have some of their forge power and make more fees. Here is the thread about Transparent forge https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=364218.0

question about forging... why does the time until i can create th next block keep changing?? one min its 3 days then 27 then 30 then back to ten...Huh? is that supposed to happen? should i just leave my computer running until it hits zero? :L

See http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org/wiki/FAQ#I_have_some_coins_in_my_account._How_can_I_start_processing_transactions_and_forging_coins.3F

The timer changes with every new block generated - about once a minute.

@genitrust I think this is a good warning for people, and a sign of some development that needs to take place on Nxt's side.

lol. So many wrong things written there.

It seems the author got all his/her ideas from NXT thread of https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397183.1140 and took the issues without context. NXT community has discussed almost all the issues in quite details in that thread.

Yeah, I would just ignore that idiot, he offers a paid service for crypto advice, he's obviously a miner and not worth our time to discuss.

Update 7 - Bitcoin Miami Conference

Had a great conversation with the guys at CoinFlash ATM. They encouraged us to swarm the website to add Nxt, I will handle this early in the week. Great open source system that facilitates an easy way to add additional currencies. Once we end up on this ATM, we will use it as leverage to work our way on the rest of them.

Look for a swarm early in the week.

Some people with twitter should respond to the tweet and how Hazard feels regarding NXT. The guy calls many coins "SCAMS" from what I remember (go look in the original BTC NXT posting lol). But anything negative needs to be corrected with good evidence against the negative.
