Update #9 - Bitcoin Update Miami

We sat down for lunch with one of the managing partners of Bit Angels. They have raised over 10 million dollars and looking to fund decentralized applications regardless of the platform. This could be a great funding opportunity down the road... in fact, there's a crypto shark tank that we'll talk about shortly that'll appear at Bitcoin Vegas. Had a great time talking about Nxt and look forward to following up on this initial meeting next week.

Important Funding request
Unofficial PR Committee agrees with the decision to have a paid 1 minute sponsor spot at the Let's talk... (one favourite Bitcoin show).

There will be also 4 new shows, but I wouldn't like to spend too much NXT. If we wanted to be in all 5 shows for 6 months, it would cost 1.3 mega NXT.

I am for: 1 minute long ad (=sponsor spot) at one show for 3 months for 270k NXT. Or: 500k NXT for 6 months.
(maybe we could add one more show..)

I will be exchanging NXT probably after Vircurex boom, if there will be any. So price in NXT could be lower.

I am asking the community if we can spare some unclaimed coins for this advertisement. Also if we have any private stakeholders who would like to sponsor this. And ofcourse if you agree with this all.

I don't want to write everything publicly, so who wants details, I will send him them.

Thank you for your attention. I am personally against paid ads, but this time it is little different.

I don't really see the sense in running ads now let alone locking in medium to long term contracts at current Nxt prices.  At least wait until we're on a few more exchanges as there's a reasonable chance Nxt will increase in price based on that alone and then our advertising Nxt will go farther.

I would say these sponsor spots wouldn't be about selling, more about sharing interesting tidbits or features with our cryptocurrency and new-things interested audience so they look further into NXT and become members of your community.  We are currently booking out sponsors on LTB for the next six months and anticipate having all spots filled within the next two weeks.  We've approached Mastercoin, and will be speaking to Bitshares and Ethereum next week with the same offer we presented to NXT, but we only have room for 1-2 projects to take us up on it.  Right now everyone but the NXT crew are occupied with Miami, so you guys actually have a time advantage until monday.

I would run an NXT show that focuses on the community, and am talking with a member of your community about developing that.  

Whoa, am I hearing you right? Do you mean you would start an entire NEW show based on the Nxt community?? If so, wow!

I think he meant an entire "episode" dedicated to discussing NXT.

No, I meant a new weekly show.  I wasn't volunteering to be the host, I said I would give a platform to it and help you find an audience just as I'm helping all the shows on the LTB network.   Among other things, we start on terrestrial radio (test market in southern california) in February.   Somebody in this thread said he wanted to start a show and I said he should do it and would help him any way I could.

Then there woul be 1 episode of Let's talk Bitcoin about Nxt.

I think the most important show to get on would be Lets Talk Bitcoin. It's also the one that will fill up the fastest. We might have more time to decide whether we want ads on the other shows.

I think this merits dipping into the marketing fund, but if big stakeholders want to contribute, even better!

I transfered 1 NXT to a fresh account and after 1440 blocks i sent 50000 NXT there and was able to forge with all instantly.

- it is not true after the Transparent Mining phase 2 starts (at block 4700):

Starting from phase 2 all coins moved within previous 1440 blocks will be deducted from effective balance. It means that coins have to wait 1440 blocks until they start to forge

If nxt price doubles....then we only have to pay 765k....can we block the slots and then pay before a certain date?
