People keep asking me about how to clone Nxt. While I support clones as a way to make the world better, I can't reveal all details regarding traps inside Nxt code. Anyway, my conscience lets me to give such hints:
1. The traps r still included into current NRS version (0.5.10), Jean-Luc doesn't know what these traps r, so he is unable to give u more info. 2. We r 100% safe coz Nxt blockchain can't be attacked by someone exploiting these traps. 3. BCNext or me won't attack clones by using the traps, but someone else could do it, I already detected an attempt to attack Nxt such the way. 4. A 100% safe way to clone Nxt is to fork the blockchain starting from current block. 5. A 99% safe way to clone Nxt with another genesis blocks is to rewrite code related to crypto completely. 6. Another way to safely clone Nxt code is to find the traps and disable them, analysis of the genesis block could help u a little.
How would 4 work? That would not really be a clone would it? Wouldnt that really be an attack and takeover? U take ur account and declare it as a new genesis account, all previous accounts declared as illegal accounts and can't be used. U distribute coins from ur account to new "founders" and u all start playing with "reduced" coin supply. Can several of those "clones" be merged again in the future?

I'm not sure, they will likely have different "value" so u'll need some kind of a quotient.

And that genesis would not be at risk of the traps you spoke about? And couldjust usethat genesis block in any future client releasefrom JlP?

I just spoke to Adam (LTB) concerning the panel at the Miami Bitcoin Conference. Adam opened his email with "I'm not going to lie to you - this will be an intense event.". With that being said, Nikel isn't the right person to be on the panel. If one of the developers with a strong understanding of architecture can fly out, I STRONGLY recommend it. Adam said a mic is available for us if we can fill it. The ROI would be high. We didn't get to bed until about 2:30a last night reviewing our plan. Nikel has a 5 hour lay-over this afternoon, he'll spend it continuing to highlight everything going on in the community. I've walked these events before... the fact we have someone shaking hands, handing out business cards and discussing ways Nxt might be able to benefit the vendors is a huge first step. He'll be busting %#%# all weekend for you.

Yes, u need only little changes in Nxt code to block all illegal accounts. Edit: Not sure I got u correctly about "original stakeholder", explain plz.

it would be cool, if BCNext wrote an article addressing the main points of this article. I set up a bounty on this: I will give chess lectures to BCNext for free for a whole year (unless he is a stronger player than myself). BTW: does BCNext know Boris Gelfand (which is my favorite player)?

Jump on a plane, my friend! I'm sure, stakeholders will pay. Explain you are no developer (because they have no identity, mystery, secret and so one) but an enthusiastic user. Bam, publicity. Take nifty with you

Hey CfB, you like riddles i guess. So here is one for you (you can earn 100 Nxt by solving it): There are 5 transactions in the genesis block with a invalid signature. Having invalid signatures in the genesis block is a shame. But BCNext can't publish valid signatures for those transactions. Riddle me this: Why can't he do that?

U won't have TF then. I would fork starting from block 47k and then follow all changes related to Transparent Forging. If u fork at block 0, then u have to fix flaws that were already found.
