But how to get it up and running on Windows?

sorry - this kind of thing is difficult to explain gently ... you know, about the Windows 'Operating System' ??

mcjavar is asking how to run a native version on windows.
Only few windows people will bother setting up a virtual linux machine to run the software.

ok no way im gettin that running..lol

think is kody, now its testNXT, but soon it will be realNXT

the coins wont transfer over, but the tech will and we will have a Proof of Work layer to add onto PoS and all the miners and whiners with no NXT can help secure the network and GET PAID

it literally took 90 seconds including trial and error to get this started on a Mac, and taking 1% CPU and a couple K MEM

another thing for a uDroid or a Cubbie to run, non stop and MAKE MONEYS

If you are on windows, use Wesleyh standalone client NxtWallet (somebody could point from where to download). I do nothing special with this client, just it is running all the time in my PC and my account is forging (yeh, until it "hibernates Smiley )

Getting nodecoins automatically is really cool. But someone explain to me when real nodecoins start what is going to give them value? Isn't it a false
assumption that miners will forge to get nodecoins?
Right now miners have so many options of which coin to mine and they choose based on how
easy the difficulty is and how much they can pump and dump it for.
That's why new coins get mined quickly. The miners know there will always
be someone dumb enough to think "ejaculate coin" will be the next big thing and everyone is going to use it to buy groceries so therefore I must
buy some on cryptsy.
What reason would miners have to "mine" nodecoin? Who's going to buy them?

can we get some clarification on node mining from within the WESclient?

It makes sense that all nodes running should mine coins, but what about NRS? If I have my account with lots of NXT unlocked and forging locally, am I going to earn NDC? or is there another step to set up?

Wesleyh, what is purpose of registering new account? When I ran your windows standalone first time, I simply entered my new secretphrase in the field and it created an account.

That works just as well, it's simply a matter of directing new users. They will click on "new account" and in doing so will receive messages about password security and how it matters. Ultimately leading them to not use a bad password.

hey Gramps, PoW gives value because the network needs securing. Nodecoin will not be worth much ever, but it will be easy to make, and serve as more of a direct payout than Forging blocks.

This will help the naysayers and minnows who accuse NXT of being a premined scam, and those who dont want to leave their NXT online.

you could set up a node farm, and HELP the network and earn a lot of coins.
