There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

On Nodecoin/NXTcoin:

1) Who will buy them? It seems to me that it will follow the mine & dump path, so:
2) It will devalue NXT

PS: Ricky do you have skype? If yes PM me your ID please...

Interesting, I didn't think of that possibility. However, BCNext has talked about coins on top of nxt right? Maybe nodecoin will be the first and most popular one?
Nxt is for store of value and nodecoins will be what we use to buy calzones and diet pepsi?

THing about nodecoin, is it is a process, that just happens to be trackable, and then the proof of process, or proof of work if you like, has a value.

We already RUN nodes. But we need to impress others to do it. The coin has no value to anyone UNLESS you need nodes.
We all need nodes, and when businesses, like  Damelon's outside project comes online, they will need MORE of nodes, and they will PAY you to run them

Price will go up, and more nodes will come online.

Back to my cell tower argument. Imagine if the teclo ran fine, but when it got busy they could PAY you to help. Turn on your wifi and you help. and get paid.

Ok so i pay a Telco to provide a service. The Telco then pays me to provide a service and i pay the Telco again! Why not just have a auto convert of Node to Nxt. If a company needs to pay for nodes they can do it in NXT.

theres no paying the telco. remove your pre conceptions. and feel free to ignore nodecoin. just cause you dont understand its value doesnt mean its not there.

this is like explaining Bitcoin to your grandma right now...
Many thanks my Nan passed away on Friday. It is not a question of ignorance kind sir, Considering i have worked for W/Com, L3, MM Above Net, BT i tend to think my Nan was up to speed. You may think of yourself as an all knowing Crypto God. The sooner you pull that pizza out of your ass the better. To finish the fatal flaw is not the code it is us. GREED

So, Evil-Knievel has volunteered to audit and/or review the Nxt core code. Nxt welcomes the interest Evil-Knievel has shown! So, what is your background Evil-Knievel?

What's up guys?
I am not a good java programmer at all, but after a short audit of the code I am pretty sure that it is possible to fund your account with as much NXT as you like - out of thin air! If you guys want me to write a line-up on this, I would we willing to do it for a small "contribution towards expenses".

That's funny. If you could do it, why do you need people to fund it? Do it and sell them on BTER. There is your "fund"

Okay how many nodecoins will this take to do?

All I would ask for is to fund my new Burberry Trenchcoat  Grin
Why I don't create them and sell them on BTER? Well, being a NXT holder myself I do not want prices to plunge  Grin

But it could be as well possible, that I spend a week of coding and get a 0.1 BTC reward  Wink There is so much other work to be done, which generates a larger income.

If you want to secure the network and give motivation to people to forge, then you need to reward them in NXT. Either we will change the PoS algorithm somehow or we shall should make a form of dividend or something in NXT.

If we reward securing the network in any other coin, then NXT will become even less valuable than XRP - basically it will only be important for people who want to control the network.

I am not good at economic theory though, it is difficult for me to model all parameters in my head..

For the smart maths people out there

This chart says volumetric expansion coefficient of silver is 58.3 (10-6 m/(m K)) i can only assume they mean m^3 since that is how you would measure volume.

So if i multiply 58.3*0.000001 i get 0.0000583

So silver expands at 0.0000583 meters cubed per meter cubed per kelvin.

Room temperature is about 300 kelvin. The melting point of silver is about 1233 kelvin. So that's a difference of 933 kelvin.

So then i just multiply 0.0000583*933 and get 0.0543939 meters cubed per meter cubed of change, or delta = 0.0543939 m^3/m^3. (i think i did that right)

Ive got to be honest that seems crazy. a 5.5% change in size as it cools? there is no way that can be right.

Should be even worse: http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/0022190262801882

Quote
The density of liquid silver is 9·346 g/cm3 at its melting point

compared to 10.49g/cm^3 at room temperature.

Or do you mean solid silver just below its melting point?

Or it could as well be possible that you (1) are a liar (2) mistaken/

You haven't even given an idea what exactly you are talking about, before "coding"

What exactly are you going to "code" when you can't even describe it.

Also, Eadeqa, if I'd happen to get the OK from the developers, I would pull it off right away. But this would result in a total desaster.

I asked you to describe it in words before you can ask for money. You can do that just by sending a private message to CFB and he can confirm you have a point. You can't even do that much.

By the way, there is already 100,000 Nxt reward here

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=397183.0

Try to find that one first and people might take you more seriously then

ok, perform your trick, create 100 NXT, then get with CfB/JLP and point out the flaw and have them fix it.  Or just burn it all to the ground.  Do you recall how Dr Evil handled things for the flaw he discovered?
