Holy C****T!  :p

1933GH/s at last look and not even risking half the mining network either [finally there are many pools and some decent size pools to balance things].  Awesome accomplishment!  Congrats Tycho!  I see the hourly block rate is over eight though which means a significant difficulty increase although perhaps not as bad as in the past.  In any event, if new hashing power comes online distributed across the pools (or solo) as it has been, your pool stands to break the 2500GH/s barrier in not too long and likely still not be at that infamous 50% Smiley  I love it!  Bitcoin rocks!  Deepbit Rocks!  Many pools rock.

BTW, that was a smart and honorable thing you did with the temporary 3% across the board fee cut after the DDOS [too bad others can cause damage to the innocent], but it seems to have helped you out in the long run if I am not mistaken.  It seems your pool may be as stable as I have ever seen it [in spite of some DDOS a-holes].  Keep up the great work!  Future growth potential is huge and deepbit is clearly the model that many others try to emulate and compete with.

Thank you for being there, dedicated and bearing with all us miners pressure and occasional critic like me.

Hey [Tycho] was wondering if at some point you can implement a page on your site that shows the top 50-100 or even total donors by name or number like guild and mine does by highest to lowest number hashes and shares and stuff? This way we can see where we stand against the other miners and how much shares, hashes, and anything else people are doing in an hr or 24hr period just for fun. Can make it global or an option like i believe BTCMine does. And if you dont want to use names then you can give each account a number and make it to where it will mark your number in the list among the others when you look at the page. something similar to the statistics page but by user instead of group as a whole.

You set the averaging window?  Smiley  I actually like having mine set at 5 minutes.  Setting it to a long period of time makes it seem like it is always low [which in truth it would be giving an infinite window], and I like to see the spikes when it is higher than my mining software reports.  It is just psychological goodness  Grin

Why do you think it is bullshit?  The stats will all be available shortly if they aren't already and you can see how many shares you submitted and the total for the round.

The lower your total hash rate, the less you will complete in any given round and thus greater variance.  Use PPS if you want constant payment.

I mine relatively fast I suppose and yet I still get rounds where I am paid nothing.  Consider:

TimeFound inTotal sharesReward
03.06.2011 16:50:580h 00m16092None

I simply did not get a share accepted during that time frame. I may have submitted a share too late as a stale share, or work I was doing was dropped due to a long polling push.

The lower your hash rate, the more of these.  You should be able to see that it follows that in short rounds, you may get a much larger payment than is typical or a much smaller payment than is usual.  It is a quantum effect.  You take a variable amount of time to solve a share, but you submit a single share; there is no such thing as a partial share.  So, the shorter the round, the larger the value of each share.  It is theoretically possible that you could solve the first block of the round on the very first and only share and thus get the entire payout (-3%) of 48.5BTC for the round, but I think in practice, it would be nearly impossible to happen.

Is there some sort of delay on PPS crediting?
I've put up 22 shares and seen no change.

Your BTC is updated every hr on the hr. You will not see a change until then.

Ah, that would make sense. I've never checked it often before.

Something is very wrong. You are either on proportional, or you are mining at an inexplicably slow rate. 1Mh/s is roughly equal to 1 share an hour, so to miss submitting a share during a 44 minute block, you would have to be mining at less than 730Kh/s.

I would have a good look at your client to see if it is properly optimized, or even working for that matter. More info about your setup would be useful too, as I would be glad to help diagnose this peculiar phenomenon.

Are you running PPS or proportional?

Probably a dumb question, but are you sure that you are mining deepbit; maybe you left your miners pointing at another pool?

So it happened to me again I was at the movies watching X-Men when natrually right when the movie started all my miners went down with the error.

unable to communicate with BITCOIN RPC

When I got home I shut down one server switch it to BTCMine and all of a sudden all the rest started working.

Very frustrating, do I have too many miners for your pool what's the deal?

I've had the issue a few days ago also. It might have to do with deepbit being attacked.
