Marketing and Promotion Proposal Updates - Dash force News

How much is 1,000 random people seeing a Dash “commercial” worth?  How do you value a five minute conversation about accepting Dash with each merchant on a block in your local downtown area?

I find that as I look at marketing / sponsorships / adoption campaigns it is hard for me to judge their real value to Dash.  Passing out 1,000 Dash flyers at an event may be a total waste of paper if 998 end up in the trash barely glanced at, but on the other other hand if those last 2 bring in a couple of great community members it could be a bargain.

Anthony Di Iorio Clears Up Jaxx Security “Fake News” - Dash Force News

Earlier this month, VXLabs published an article about the Jaxx wallet, claiming a security vulnerability in the wallet, allowing a hacker to break the PIN and gain access to the wallet’s private keys. This was followed by rumors that users had lost large amounts of funds. Jaxx maintained that no special vulnerability exists and that no users lost any funds.

I sat down with Jaxx CEO Anthony Di Iorio to talk about the truth of what, if anything, happened with the Jaxx wallet security discussion. We also talked about the balance of ease of use vs. security, hot wallets vs. cold storage, and the prevalence of “fake news” in the cryptocurrency world.

Bitcoin Miners Begin Signalling for Segwit2x, Dash and Litecoin Spike - Dash Force News

Bitcoin miners have begun signalling Segwit2x despite fierce opposition from segments of the community, as Litecoin and Dash grow to take its place as digital money.

About a month ago, business leaders and heads of large mining pools came together before the Consensys 2017 conference to discuss a compromise in Bitcon scaling solutions. A compromise was reached, which would include a 2mb block size increase as well as Segregated Witness, or Segwit, in an effort to appease both sides of the scaling debate. As of today, the vast majority of the mining power is signalling for the Segwit2x compromise.

Why on Korea exchange Bithumb dash price is 0.079 ?? Koreans know something we didnt know? Roll Eyes

Surely low liquidity on the exchange + high volume (same than Polo) ==> higher price Smiley

Koreans really want some DASH.  50% more volume than Polo right now and selling for almost $40 more.

Dash Markets
USD
#   Source   Pair   Volume (24h)   Price   Volume (%)   Updated
1   Bithumb   DASH/KRW   $31,939,600   $230.13   31.64%   Recently
2   Poloniex   DASH/BTC   $19,591,700   $191.62   19.41%   Recently

Icey is gonna have to learn another language to keep the lid on DASH price.  Just a matter of time....  Grin

can someone explain why dash is worth more then others altcoins?what is the tech?what are the fees?what about the network?

Two tiered network, masternode backbone
Instantsend
Privatesend
Self funded
Distributed and decentralized governance
Soon to come; evolution that transform crypto and makes it accessible to nearly everybody - not the technically  advanced users only.

In a sense it is surprising that the price is  as low as it is. By this time next year things are likely to be very different in the top of coinmarketcap  Wink

That explanation (it's actually just a list of marketing buzzwords) is not based on facts or logic.  It's 100% pure Evan's Gate cargo cult doctrine.

Dash's 2nd tier is a fatal flaw, not a feature, because it requires users to trust 3rd parties controlled by unknown entities.  Also, the Masternodes are a Ponzi scheme and HYIP in violation of the Howey act, and thus ripe for aggressive law/regulatory enforcement actions.  Dash's trusted 3rd party "backbone" is a security hole and presents the .gov JBTs of the world a fat juicy target.

Instantsend isn't any faster than Ethereum and Digibyte's 15-second blocks, and utterly obsolete compared to Litening (Lightning on Litecoin).

Privatesend hasn't been audited in years despite many code base changes, and is shit-tier garbage compared to Monero's state-of-the-art RingCT.

The "self-funding" is also misleading, given the funding is created by inflation and comes at the involuntary expense of existing bagholders.

Many printing-press funded projects lack accountability and have made a mockery of Dash's entire approach to throwing money at every charlatan who asks for a handout.  That's why there are multiple try-hard efforts underway to heap atop Dash's broken enterprise logic more convoluted bureaucratic epicycles.

See https://forum.getmonero.org/8/funding-required for an example of a proper 'skin in the game' approach incorporating best practices such as voluntary donation, escrow, and deliverable milestones.  Monero's FFS is why it doesn't suffer from a litany of failures (which constitute dis-proof of concept) like Dash's.  EG:

1. Dash Delinquents: Charlie Shrem's Dash Debit Card

Quote from: solarguy

2. Dash Delinquents: Dash Play Awards

Quote from: dashtreasury.org
It sounded like a great idea: Dash sponsorship of a big fancy awards show for Youtube content creators. It would be targeting a well aligned market (online content creators who earn off the internet), and the proposal creators had some great ideas on how to integrate an aggressive Dash campaign throughout.

There was just one problem. The entire awards show was fake. It never happened. The Dash treasury got scammed.

3. Dash Delinquents: Dash Branded ATM's

Quote from: dashtreasury.org
Where did the ATM's actually end up? Nowhere. They don't exist.

These proposal owners have at least posted a few updates on their progress, but it's looking more and more like the Dash treasury didn't actually buy deployment of Dash ATM's. Instead, we've provided startup capital to individuals who would like to deploy ATM's but are not yet prepared to do so.

This is another example of where the Dash treasury could have benefitted from having a vetting manager supervise and investigate these projects.

4. Dash Delinquents: Developer Documentation

Quote from: dashtreasury.org
Dash desperately needs some developer documentation.

QuantumExplorer was paid a substantial sum of money with the expectation that he would either provide value or return the money. He has provided no services, and now he is audaciously refusing to return the funds as promised.

The proposal owner was fairly active on the Dash.org forum up until the day he got paid. Since then, he's gone totally dark. No progress updates, no forum activity, not a single completed page of documentation. This is what you might call "dine and dash", or rather "dash and dash".

QuantumExplorer is refusing to honor the terms of his proposal not only in providing zero work product but also in his pledge to provide transparency over the application of the funds and in his promise to return any unused funding:

Did he spend any of those funds to hire documentation writers for his project? Did he use any of those funds to even advertise to hire writers? Did he live up to his commitment to be "transparent" with the use of the funds? No, no, and no. A mere 12 hours after he was awarded his payment, at 15:43 that same afternoon, he swept 100% of the money away to top off the remaining coins he needed to start a new masternode, which has earned him an additional 12.6 DSH to date.

How could this have been avoided? First of all, think about in what strange world a newly hired employee would be fronted three months' wage before showing up for a single day of work and without even providing the employer with a single valid piece of contact information.

Even Basicpop the cult enforcer agrees Dash's current approach is stupid, broken, and a giant fail.

Quote from: Basilpop

The biggest, fattest lie of all is that Dash's governance is somehow "distributed."  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Dash is 100% centralized, as amply demonstrated by Evan's arbitrary Instamine-intensifying cut of Dash's total emission as well as his sudden top-down decision to rebrand Darkcoin to Daesh Dash.  He's even written on this very forum an admission that "nothing in Dash is fixed."

This is what it looks like when a shitcoin focuses more on marketing than development:

https://i.imgur.com/SgbWupF.png

Evolution is not "soon to come."  That's another lie.  Evolution has no whitepaper, much less peer review and alpha/beta code.  Github or GTFO you goddamn snake oil salemen!
This pretty much sums it up but I'd like to elaborate on the last part.
Good marketing and a poor product results in a something that's value can suddenly go up in a very short amount of time, however, if the product is poor people will just stop using it after awhile. What results is a short lived project

Dash (or Digital Cash) as seen on following chart versus bitcoin has risen to the top of the pink channel it has been in since April. This has been a good time to try and accumulate on dips for those of a trading persuasion. However the best buying opportunities at the bottom of the channel were very quickly snapped up.

It looks quite promising that Dash has a chance to break through above that pink channel to perhaps proceed on up to test again all time high against bitcion. But there is resistance to overcome first, with Dash appearing to bounce exactly where I’d have expected based on previous area of resistance at the top of the pink channel. Some might prefer to sell here and see if they can buy back later cheaper. It remains to be seen if Dash is to stay within pink range a bit longer or break above. If this is a bull flag (the wedge marked with dotted lines), then we might see break out soon.

This analysis is based on my more detailed blog post https://afbitcoins.wordpress.com/2017/06/19/darkcoin-rising/

Dash Comes to African Markets with AltCoinTrader Integration - Dash Force News

Dash has begun trading in Africa thanks to the addition of trading pairs on AltCoinTrader.

The South Africa-based exchange recently added Dash to its short list of traded currencies. The list includes Bitcoin, Litecoin, Namecoin, Ripple, Ethereum, and Zcash. The addition will allow Dash to be bought and sold for the rand, expanding acquisition options in a historically underserved continent in the cryptocurrency world.

Exchange addition comes as global interest in Dash grows

The addition of Dash trading on AltCoinTrader comes amid a renewed surge of trading interest. Dash claims about $72 million 24-hour trading volume. This is currently more than the trading volume of Zcash and Monero combined, with Poloniex a major source of trading as usual.

The Risks of Segregated Witness

https://coingeek.com/risks-segregated-witness-opening-door-mining-cartels-undermine-bitcoin-network/

Saw this on Africoins thread thought it was interesting

So Icey it seems game theory predicts that miners will be incentivised to form into cartels if segwit is implemented

Quote
SegWit Creates Incentives to Form Mining Cartels
If implemented, SegWit would change this for the worse. It opens the door to an economic incentive model that would encourage mining cartels to form. As the bitcoin network currently operates, there is no incentive for miners to form cartels. Mining pools are not cartels; they are a firm. But SegWit introduces a fundamental change to bitcoin: the “AnyOneCanSpend address”, or essentially a blank signature for transactions. SegWit uses an “AnyOneCanSpend” address so that transactions will be validated and recorded into blocks, even though the sender/receiver signature data is separated. Normally, an “AnyOneCanSpend” output (as its name implies) would allow any miner to spend the funds associated with that transaction; therefore, SegWit would introduce new rules for interpreting “AnyOneCanSpend”.

...

Theft by mining cartels. Maybe removing witness data from blocks isn't such a great idea after all?  Grin

Luckily this isn't on Dash's radar

btw Icey reposting the same post again and again is lazy trolling. Try to put a bit more effort into it please.

How Dash Can Help Build Your Savings - Dash Force News

Almost 57 million Americans have absolutely no emergency savings. That can be scary if you’re one of them. Luckily, using Dash can help you fix that.

Everyone has their own reason for not being able to save up for a rainy day, but I’d be willing to make a guess on a couple of them: expenses are too high and people can’t afford to tie up money they might need for bills at a moment’s notice. I’m here to tell you that Dash can take care of both, and allow you to build a safety net far faster and easier than more traditional methods.
