While it's somewhat of a concern, I have a strong feeling that once Avalon/BFL chips are in more hands, the current percentage of network lead will fade quickly. If you subtract ASICMINER from the pool, BTC Guild is roughly even with the 2nd largest pool (50BTC). 50BTC and BTCGuild (sans ASICMINER) are only ~30% larger than the #3 and #4 pools. Assuming that ASIC distribution is roughly equal to current pool hashrate distribution, the 4-12 TH/s ASICMINER adds to BTC Guild will just be a drop in the bucket. And they may or may not stick around once they have all their chips up and running.
We're still a long way from where we were back in 2011/early 2012 when Deepbit was on occasion in control over >= 51% of the network, and 40%+ average.
I think deepbit is crazy, trying to take a 10% fee. 5% is still a little high, but PPS is dangerous for a pool so it's understandable. I have a a suggestion/request for the new look of the page. Can you add an average of the Per share payout of the last 100 blocks of PPLNS, I might be more willing to roll the dice with that system if I knew what it was paying out on average in comparison to PPS. Just a though.

New UI is mostly functional for users who would like to use it right away at https://www.btcguild.com/new_ui/ - You can now log in if your cookies don't automatically log you in already. Launch has been postponed until I return from my meetings tomorrow [starts at 10 AM, should be home before noon]. Like I said in my post yesterday, I'm not comfortable launching it tonight before I go to bed in case something is broken with the new interface, and there's still some introduction pages that need to be added so new miners aren't lost after they make the account.

Advanced warning to users:
Friday at 9 AM PST payouts will be disabled to defragment/consolidate the pool hot wallet. During this time automatic payouts and manual payouts will not be processed. If the network is making blocks at the normal rate, it should last about 2 hours.
This is being done because over time the bitcoind wallet gets very cluttered with extra addresses (change) and tens of thousands of transaction inputs (the results of change). Over time, this means bitcoind will occasionally time out to a payout request and not respond with a transaction id, requiring manual correction in order to provide proof that the transaction was sent or to resend the transaction if it failed.
In other news: New UI is still on target for launch in the next 4-6 hours.

The new UI is looking bad ass, I really like what you have done with it. Thanks! I have tested it on Windows Phone, iPhone/iPad, and Android. All looks well and formats without issues, obviously landscape is best for viewing on the small screens. All the menu options are easy to navigate with a touch interface. Will you be bringing over Worker Statistics as well?

I have recently spoke with BTCGuild operator via email, here is a blurb of our convo. 1) I’ll look into adding +/- symbols on the Dashboard before it’s deployed tomorrow.
2) Hidden/visible workers makes sense in that it allows you to clear off old workers from your dashboard view (or extremely slow ones you don’t care about). There will be an ‘Add Worker’ section added before the page is deployed.
3) The Earnings Detail currently shows only your PPS rewards, working on a way to bring PPLNS into it (currently you can per-shift earnings under PPLNS Stats).
---- new response ---
Historically I never allowed “deleting” of a worker, since I can’t actually delete it from the database without losing the rewards you’ve earned which are tied to individual workers. Technically all I could do is fully-hide a worker so that it can never be restored.
After the site is updated, I’m going to look into additional changes such as what you mentioned with a pop-up Dashboard. However, it would have to be a new window in its current incarnation. The website is not using AJAX/XMLHttpRequests to update pages, which means you can’t have a free-floating “pseudo-window” as you navigate through the rest of the site. Part of going to this new UI is it opens up the potential to do things like that in the future though!
For PPLNS calculations, you’ll be able to see clearly how the per-share rewards are determined for a shift when the Details page is added to the new UI. You can see it currently on the live website if you click View Details next to any shift (one that isn’t highlighted green will give the best picture). Just some additions to what I have found: (Most of this is purely preference/what most sites do; purely suggestions) - There is a small bug: Support page heading says "unknown page"
- The order of the page links. Ex log out is on the far left, normally on far right.
Not much.. Also, I like the current 10kGhash rate! Keep it up guise! EDIT: Ooo also, I would like to see a "luck" calculation for the pool. Say at the current hashrate of our pool (based on probability) we should find a block every X amount of time (maybe X hashes even). But in reality we find it every Xi amount of time. Xi/X would be our luckiness ratio? A Ratio > 1 means we are lucky < 1 means we are not lucky. Obviously there would be a better luck calculation than that. But I just would find it interesting to see; I started mining for the idea (i made it up myself) that I could enter a lottery for 25BTC*30 = $750 roughly 5033164800 times a second (600Mhash/s speed for me), with the same chances for every drawing I do. Personally I have already broke even without have even made 1 BTC because I would've bought my computer even without the allure of BTC, so everything I do to me is profit!

New website is live, and nobody caught the few moments where the site was "down" apparently. There are a few small changes that will be made during the day, but all the main features are up and running already. Mostly a few cosmetic changes are all that remain.

Perhaps this has been explained before:
Where did all the shares for user 19187 come from all of a sudden. Im pretty sure that user never had so many shares and def does not have the hashrate to just be behind asicminer.....blocks solved is also nowhere near the alledged sharecount
Thx

Many users which have been inactive for a long time have come back recently. The Hall of Fame is set to ignore users who hadn't logged in for the last month, so you're starting to see a few older accounts return to the Hall of Fame. As for the Blocks Found count: Only Stratum servers record found blocks ever since the last reset of that counter (previous counters were polluted with Namecoin blocks).

That change is coming soon. Right now I'm restoring Password Reset functionality (something I completely forgot about when setting up the new interface). Current battle plan: 1) Password Reset 2) Worker Performance Charts 3) PPLNS Last 'X' Shifts Rate Relocated UPDATE: #1 Completed. On to #2!

All the major stratum servers are running fine at the moment. PM me your worker and I can test from here just to double check. What hostname/port/software are you using?
