The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

I got a question. In my bat file should I have..... bfgminer -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u myworker -p mypass.....or.....bfgminer -o stratum+tcp://stratum.btcguild.com:3333 -u myworker -p mypass? As of now im using... bfgminer -o stratum.btcguild.com:3333. Just wondered if adding stratum+tcp should be included, and if so whats the difference?

courtesy ckolivas:

If you don't specify stratum+tcp:// cgminer will try a few different ways to connect first. Some pools might not like the multiple attempts to connect so it is always cleaner and faster to specify the stratum+tcp:// prefix.

this by extension applies to bfg

Winter's coming so I can fire up my Radeon 4670 again if you think it'll help.  I would contribute my 5830 but I'm playing DOOM 2 at the moment.

HA!  I just solved another block!  That's 2 in the past 7 days.  Not bad for a guy hashing at a measly 170Gh/s.   Grin

Found my 3rd block!  3 in the past month.  I've earned less than 25BTC total from BTCG.  Solo mining is looking better and better, lol.  But with my luck I'd never, ever find a block solo mining.

Yeah, my Avalon had some major luck streaks early on.  Found 6 blocks in a week for the pool, even though I should've only averaged 1 block in that time.

Haven't posted any updates about the store in a while on the forum, just wanted to repeat the latest news on pricing:

Single USB Erupters are now 0.11 BTC/unit.
10+ Erupters are now 0.09 BTC/unit.
100+ Erupters are now 0.08 BTC/unit.

The above prices include free shipping within the United States.  Inventory is limited as ASICMINER at this time stated they will not be producing additional units.

There was a brief outage on the US stratum server to update a few settings on the miner validation server.  This outage only prevented new connections from being established and did not disconnect/impact active miners.

I have a 60gh miner on this pool and would like to know about the minimum difficulty setting. Right now its set at 32. Is that the right setting, or should it be set to 64? Not sure what the difference in the two would be. Also noticed when restarting my miner on the rejects i get, R:0+20. Sometimes its more sometimes less. What causes that 20 im getting? Sorry for all the noob questions.

32 difficulty for a 60 GH miner is perfect.  I have no idea what "+20" means on the R:0 part.  That's a new one to me.

This may be in the wrong thread, but is asicminer going to produce 28nm block erupters? and if so, will BTCGUILD have them, and when?
I saw a post on ebay stating 3gh/s erupters, pics look like big custom alum heatsink pasted on to a normal usb block erupter.

There's no such thing as an erupter above 500 MH/s or so (overclocked to hell and very unreliable).  These require physical hardware mods, and so far I've never heard of one maintaining 500 MH/s without extremely clunky heatsinks strapped on that block off multiple ports.  There are non-ASICMINER USB chips based off BitFury, but as far as I know they're not widely available/high production runs.

When ASICMINER releases new hardware, I will have it for sale.

Its part of BFGminer stats. Don't know how to post a screen shot so, this is what I see on BFGminer.

  BFL 0: 64C | 61.45/61.11/60.52Gh's | A:10153 R:46+20(.45%) HW:1910/.58%

Uhm...it isn't good today?  Do you expect luck to be neutral or positive 100% of the time?  You're not going to have a good time as a miner on anything other than pure PPS payment methods if so.  We're still 4% above expectation over the last ~900 shifts.

Right, luck is all good on average but I was talking about just today. I understand there's up and down, just venting because I added a 60GHs BFL just today.  BTCG is good!
