at BTCGuild i get best payoff for my hasing power. not sure why, but it beats other pools.

Low stales, high reliability (low chance of failover losing work), good fee rate, an admin that actually responds to user questions about problems with stats unlike some other pool admins who go months on end without saying a word (sorry, was foaming at the mouth there).

Good job E!

Whats with the 7.5% fee?! It was 3%, then 5% and now it's 7.5% and we didn't even get a notification that the fees went up?

They didn't go up as far as I can see... 3% or PPLNS and 7.5% for PPS.

It's been like that since August or so.  Nothing new.  That 7% is for PPS since it is very risky for the pool.  PPLNS remains at 3%.

I would disagree only on this one. I find the 3% fee disproportionately high to what the pool offers.
And the higher the hashrate you have the more disproportionate it is.
For someone who is making 1BTC a month that might be OK, but for people who mine 100BTC monthly I see no real reason why this service should cost them 3BTC.
Pool luck is irrelevant as it is in no way controlled by the owner, so please do not use it as a reason to justify the fee.

Thought the same thing at first. Watching miners now, shares still accepted. Hopefully just server maintenance or something on the GUI.

Website is back up and running normally.  The pools should not have been affected by it (the apache process was what was lagged).

Just a coincidence that the luck went to hell.  If you look at the block history, you'll a cluster of bad blocks (277522 - 277570).  Multiple 2-hour blocks will generally nuke luck pretty bad.  It's not that any individual block was terrible luck, just that a group of blocks taking ~2.5x longer than normal happened in a row.

PPLNS is and has always been 3% with paid orphan blocks, paid transaction fees, and for the last few months, Namecoins.

PPS was 5% from October 2011 until May 2013, then increased to 7.5% with significant warnings for close to a month before it was increased.

Thanks eleuthria !  I feel i have been treated as fair as possible on your pool and the attention you give your pool miners is top notch.

Website temporarily unavailable in order to debug a script that's eating up a LOT of CPU suddenly.  Should be back up very soon.  The mining servers are still running during this maintenance period.

Shares are not being accepted at the moment i keep disconnecting and my workers keep stalling because the pool is "unstable"

Problem found, and now fixed.  The public servers *should* have remained online.  The private server did require a restart unfortunately.

Payout scripts are paused for a little bit longer (that's where the holdup is stemming from).  They'll be manually run a few times to catch up once I've caught the part that's lagging the system down.

If your miners are still having problems, please let me know ASAP!  Everything looks perfect from the server side right now (with the exception of payouts temporarily paused).
