Keccak: what do you think about that new GroestlCoin? It seems to have simmilar features like HVC, especially that it's power effective. Can you maybe summarize how HVC is better than Groestl?
Actually, the 'power-effectiveness' is a side effect of mining not utilizing card resources to 100%. For Heavycoin this ineffectiveness is 'enforced' by thread divergence in the algorithm (though the divergence is not where devs intended it to be), while in Groestl it is just inoptimal code.

I'm holding my coin. no dump coin but i need team dev support coin. They are only support code , don't support Plan, marketing coin no have future.
Bounties: 1-2% (depending on total supply) for strategic direction and promoting of heavycoin? why they are not use to marketing . Wait we are working and add to home page and topic ?? example: https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/10329-heavycoin-secure-e-currency?locale=en if keccak512 give away 100hvc 1 support for 100 supporter now we done .

I am using the standard conf: --lookup-gap 0 -g1 -I 8 --worksize 64
I have custom modified my bioses with a HEX editor to get low Vcore values and the card to still boot. But I think with Sapphire cards you can go pretty low using Trixx also.

Here is a list of Watt/Mhash/Mhz/Vcore's I am using:

4x 17,3Mhash @ 950Mhz/0.856V = 405W
4x 18.3Mhash @ 1000Mhz/ 0.880V = 445W
4x 19Mhash @ 1040/0.900V = 460W
4x 19.8Mhash @ 1080/ 0.920V = 480W

I am not using higher setting such as 1150Mhz because it demands too much voltage

What about memory clock?
I use 1000Mhz

Yeah, I use 900 but no difference with 1000. For some reason turning it all the way down to 750Mhz actually starts taking more electricity  Roll Eyes Smiley

Those core/voltage values are amazing. How is that possible for you?
My 4 x 280x rig can only go down to 1080/1.054v @ 19.8 Mh/s = 585W.

For me the key was getting the values in the bios right as MSI only allows -100mv/1100mv via Afterburner. My cards would not even boot when using VBE7 and 0.956V but editing the VRM values with a HEX editor did the trick. There is some info on it on this page: http://ultracoin.net/undervolt.html
GPU-Z only reckognizes the value set in the bios which is 0.956mv for me and I use after burner to fine tune the voltage up to another -100mv/0.856. So at 1080Mhz I am using .0956V and -37mv offset in afterburner which equals to 0.920V.
My watt meter is ok, I have double checked it with amper clamps as well. I have tens of those cards all running at these volts with a few exceptions that need another +10-15mv.

I have seen Gpuz, Afterburner and Trixx report one voltage, and measuring with voltmeter shows another ( not voltage drop ) I can lower VDC in Trixx as low as I want, but none of my 20 280x will go below 1v ( voltage drop is another thing, and Gpu-s are working at slightly below 1v with voltage drop)

gpuz in not accurate, because the voltage can be locked, in my case gpu-z show 0.875, but the real voltage is 1v..

Yeah, GPU-Z is only good for reading Information from the bios which might actually not be accurate. For me changing the offset in Afterburner brings clear changes in energy draw also so that is definately working.

i found an interesting thing

if you leave the voltage in the bios as default and then reduce it with msi you will have a certain temp, but if you mod the bios to a lower voltage, and then set the same value as before on msi your tempp will be lower....

for exmaple:

bios voltage 1200 on msi you set 1100 = 80°(just an example)
bios voltage 1100 on msi  you set 1100 again = 70°

i tested this myself and i don 't know why it work in that way, problably the card force the value to reach the one of the bios even if you modify it with other programs
