Read that report but its seems like they are going to make some exception this time. No one can raise the doubt if they do because since the pandemic started there was not much domestic cricket going around in India and when it was on these kids were preparing for the WC or already playing u-16 or so.

@JSRAW honestly I don’t think that anyone will have objections if BCCI makes exemptions for once, because these player’s need to get IPL experience too, and who knows one or two might even make it to the team India’s squad if they perform constantly in IPL. Lastly I’m looking forward for the auctions to begin, because there’re so many good player’s up for the grabs, and when the auction ends it’ll be really interesting to see the final squad of each team.
That would be overstretched if we think some might get fasttrack and find their place into national setup. It's extremely tough, unless someone is generational or exceptional talent, may be after 3-4 years but not right away. Ideally they should grind in domestic circuit first and crack into India A, then we can think about fast track.

The Indian Premier League auction pool will have to wait a little longer for eight players from India's U-19 World Cup-winning team. Because only U-19 players who have competed in at least one first-class match or list A game are eligible to participate in the auction. List of players who are not eligible are Dinesh Bana, Shaik Rasheed, Ravi Kumar, Nishant Sindhu, Siddarth Yadav, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Manav Parakh, Garv Sangwan, Nishant Sindhu, Siddarth Yadav, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Man

Following previous year's practices, are we making a betting pool for the IPL this year too? Usually, the participants and funds of the pool collection start a month before the start of the tournament but i don't see any such announcement on this thread yet. Though i didn't participate in previous years, but perhaps i could take part in it this year.  Smiley

It looks like something is wrong with the URL you've entered or the search pattern. I find PSL matches being on the bet365 platform. I see today's match added, which is better Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi. Maybe few matches were the top team playing might've been added.

Multan Sultan are once again playing fabulous cricket. Shan masood scored 68 runs while Rizwan got out on 34 today. I can say it's safe to bet on Multan Sultan today. 163 for 3 wickets in 18 overs is good score. If Sultans can finish there innings at 180+ they have confirm chance of winning the game. I m not much hopefull for Peshawar.

Shan masood and Muhammad Rizwan are having ideal PSL both are at at no 2 and 3 in PSL In terms of runs scoring. Shan masood scored 275 while Rizwan 215 runs. In bowling Multan Sultan Imran Tahir and Khushdil are at no 2 and 3 in terms of getting most wickets. Imran has taken 10 wickets while khushdil has taken 9 wickets. Odds are very much in favour of MS.

Feels bad for Imran Tahir. His cricketing career is almost finished and he never got a real chance to compete at international level in a regular basis. He made his debut for South Africa in his 30s and played just 20 test matches. That was a good move anyway, because if he had stayed in Pakistan then most probably he would have never got a chance to play international cricket. I consider him as one of the best spinners of his era. But unfortunately he was not able to convince this to the Pakistani selectors. At least South Africa gave him a second chance.

And this brings up a question, You've got Pakistani selectors are not being able to identify the talent of a player like Imran Tahir, isn't there any kind of problem in the selection board?

I know I am a nobody just guessing things based on facts but this is actually very true isn't it?

A man who could have had a really bright and beautiful career started his career at the age of 30 and that's absolutely shameful.

Yes he is from Pakistan and migrated to SA for better cricket future. In Pakistan there is lot of talent for cricket but due to corrupt system talent is neglected and players who have relatives in PCB makes it to playing 11. Imam ul Haq (nephew of Inzamam), Azam Khan ( the fat giant is son of Moin khan), Usman Qadir ( son of Abdul qadir) are few living examples of current time. Imran tahir has played 20 tests and 107 ODIs for SA, so it's a good migration for him.

I have also done some search about this Imran Tahir and have few very interesting facts that while his very early days in cricket he meet with Intikhab Alam a legendary spinner and coach for Pakistan and after having few sessions he gives him tip that he must leave this game cricket because he has never been a good bowler but his addiction and love for this game was not allowing him for this, and he plays few years in domestic level in Pakistan and then shift to England where he has not good response then he shifts to South Africa and has chance which was late, but he still achieved the best bowler rank in ODI and T20 which is really great achievement from this guy but sadly in test matches his start was really nightmare as he played against Australia and conceded nearly 260+ otherwise his career was good but best thing with his hard work and addiction he achieved really great milestones in his life.

AustraliaVS Sri Lanka

Australia will play 5 T20 matches against Sri Lanka. They will play the first match of the series today. We all know Australia is always a terrible team at home. So in all the matches of this series, I think Australia is the favorite. Sri Lanka will probably not win either. Because they are not in good form now. We have seen their poor performance in the World Cup. And this is their first T20 series since the World Cup. Let's see how they perform.

A competitive match is all we expect. The Sri Lankan team has drastically improved in the past few months. Could this be a challenge for Australia? It's no secret that Australia can be very dangerous. There will be challenges in beating the current world T20 champion team at home. However, Australia lost its last four T20 series.

Does not matter if Australia lost the last T20 series, it is never easy for any team to beat Australia in Australia. Also, they are in full confidence after the recent Ashes win while there is no significant performance by the Sri Lankans recently.

The news from Sydney is that the match is stopped because of the rain and before that the Australians were cruising easily with 59 runs and one wicket down.

Match resumed after it was interrupted by rain. In 14 overs Australia were 106 for loss of 4 wickets, star performer so far is Ben McDermott who is not out on 53 runs (40 balls). Sri Lanka is not in good form these days and it will be interesting to see how they will perform in this T20 series in Australia.

Australia easily won the match under the DLS method. They should get enough practice with the Srilanka team as their next encounter will be with pakistan and they will be coming to Pakistan.  Smiley

Coming to the PSL, today is a big match between Lahore and Multan. The reason i am saying this a big match is because Lahore team will be playing at their home soil and the match is against the tournament unbeaten team Mutlan Sultan.

Aus vs SL match result was very much expected as Aus recently won T20 WC followed by 4-0 Ashes win. Aus gave target of 149 which was very much chasable but in reply SL were never in the game they lost wickets regularly.  Hazlewood got 4 wickets but Adam Zampa was man of the match for taking 3 top order wickets.

^ Nepotism is a really big problem especially in Asia and now it has traded really badly e in all the spheres of work and also sports so it will be really hard for this thing to fix. '

But this certainly causes a lot of problems because the people who are actually the fittest for a certain job or work are being left out and those who are not really the best at it seems to be the one doing the job.

So the quality comes down drastically. If these types of nepotism and favoritism continuously happen then it will be really hard for the cricket of this region to prosper.

Just like Imran Tahir a lot of young talents are absolutely uprooted at a very young age, just by telling them that they will never be good enough.

This absolutely kills their confidence to even think about chasing their dream. But hats off to Imran Tahir for believing in himself and doing almost everything to chase his dream and I think we all can agree that he was really successful doing it. Easily one of the greatest leg-spin bowlers of all time.

First of all, I really feel like the DLS method should be looked into and made corrections in some ways. I really believe this is one of the most bullshit rules that cricket has ever made. But it obviously might take a lot of time.

Secondly, I don't think that Lahore is going to get too many advantages because they are in the home ground against the Multan sultan. At least not that much help which we are expecting in my opinion. But this match should be interesting.

I agree nepotism is big problem but not in team, instead its in management as far as Indian cricket is concern. So i think you're mixing nepotism with favoritism.

Guy like Pandya comes from very humble background and had virtually zero backing when he started his career. I don't like his personality at all when it comes to discipline, attitude etc but i can't point finger on him as far as nepotism is concern.

I have never seen nepotism when selectors select the National team and i admire this quality of BCCI because sometime local management neglect this very attitude when selecting Ranji, club team etc.

Venky and Nattu are talented players but i can't blame selectors because in recent time Indian bench strength is getting bigger. Its nice headache for cricket loving country but tough on selectors and they are bound to make mistake sometimes. Nattu was injured btw (surgery i suppose).

If nepotism is there like you mentioned then where are Arjun Tendulkar, Rohan Gavaskar, Binny etc?

I don't think in Indian team there is so much nepotism. Pandya made it to the team on his own and was once known for his hard hitting before indulging too much into showbiz and losing his form. Even son of Sachin Tendulkar is not included in indian squad team till date because he fail to meet the selection criteria.

This issue of nepotism is present in all of the South Asian boards and there is no quick fix solution. Even in the Indian team, useless players like Hard dick Pandya were retained in the squad for many years, despite not contributing either with the bat or with the ball. And in the end, promising youngsters like Venkatesh Iyer and T Natarajan finds themselves out of the team. Even from Bangladesh, I have heard about similar stories. I agree nepotism is big problem but not in team, instead its in management as far as Indian cricket is concern. So i think you're mixing nepotism with favoritism.

I don't have much knowledge about Indian team family backgrounds so I can't comment on them but in the Pakistan team, yes there is a lot of nepotism. Remember the Akmal brothers (Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal), both remained in the team together for a long time even one of them does not have good performance, the other brother ensures/pressurzies that he plays in the team.

Coming to the PSL, the unbeaten Multan team faced their defeat against Lahore and this makes the tournament even more interesting. From today we have allowed 50% attendance in the stadium and from 16 feb, there will be 100% crowd attendance allowed.
