What a difference in performance between the first innings and second innings. In the first innings it was said the pitch is bowling supportive and it has turned completely or the players have begun to play in a much responsible manner. Tremendous performance from Daryl Mitchell and Tom Blundell. Made a big partnership at the right time. If these two wickets have gone at a lower score, now the innings could've come to an end. Both nearing the century and facing close number of balls is really good and giving a hard time for England.

Even i was expecting New Zealand to fold today but Daryl Mitchell Tom Blundell is pilling up a huge lead and saved New Zealand from a defeat and they now have a lead of 227 runs and three more days left in this match. A good second innings total with a lead of above 350 runs and England is in trouble chasing the score in the last two days as i am expecting the pitch to be uneven in the final days.

And they are more familiar with this Lord's pitch than the New Zealand players. However, if the target goes beyond 300 or 350, then it will be very difficult to win in this field. This test match is very unpredictable I was expecting both Mithcell and Blundell to stay on the pitch till the end of the first session. Unfortunately, that did not happen and neither were the batters after them. A lead of more than 300 runs would have been competitive by the NZ team but they were not able to do that too. England needs only 61 runs and Root is still going strong. I hope he stays till the end and wins this test match for his team.

With such conditions where pace bowlers are being favored, scoring another 61 runs is definitely not going to be easy. If Ben Stokes was there, then I would have said that England would definitely win the match. But Jamieson got him a few overs before the close of 3rd day's play. Ben Foakes is the last recognized batsmen in the playing XI, and after him the lower order starts with Matthew Potts and Jack Leach. And after them, we have genuine tailenders such as James Anderson and Matt Parkinson. Not going to be easy for England.
