The debutant Potts had a perfect match today, but in the end he could not get to a 5-wicket haul and had to leave the field as a result of injury. Anyway, it was a dream debut for him. But the most important thing is to perform consistently. Ollie Robinson had a dream debut sometime ago, but after that he went through a lot of turmoil. BTW, today once again James Anderson excelled with the ball. Picked up 4 very important wickets and it is just a matter of time before he becomes the first pacer to get to 700 test wickets.

Potts and Anderson both absolutely destroyed their opponent's batting lineup. Getting a team like New Zealand all out for only 132 runs in 40 overs is just an unbelievable performance from any team.

I honestly believe that a lot of people expected England to play well but this was absolute domination in the first innings from England.

Now England is batting and they have scored 75 runs at the loss of only one wicket. this has indeed been a dream debut for the bowler,,

England's first innings is coming to an end soon. And it remains to be seen whether they will be able to score 132 runs. It does not seem that England can collect 132 runs. After losing the first wicket for 59 runs, they lost their seventh wicket for 100 runs. England started their innings quite well. I didn't think there would be such a sudden rhythmic fall. My guess was that they would collect at least 200 in the first innings. Bt I was completely wrond.

New Zealand top order batsman has failed to make a good start. It could have been a low scoring match, but they have collected 132 runs with the help of their lower order batsmen. Most of the batsmen got out by giving catch in the slip, otherwise by giving catch to the wicket keeper. Similar thing happened with the England team. Although they have made a great start, but their batting lineup collapsed after the fall of 3rd wicket. There is a high chance that this test match will end within the first three days.

It is a really interesting match going on between New Zealand and England, i thought England would run away with the match when they restricted New Zealand for 132 runs and i was glad to see James Anderson and Stuart Broad playing together and England had a great start as they went wicketless for 59 runs and now they lost 7 wickets at the close of the day.

17 wickets in the first day and the match wont last in the final two days and the match is getting interesting as one good session with the bat will change the match.

I look forward to watching the first Test match between England and New Zealand. These two teams are very strong for the Test format. However, New Zealand's performance in the last few series was not as good as we expected. They also lost a Test match against a team like Bangladesh. But the New Zealand players are experienced enough. Hopefully they won't make any mistakes at Lord's. And we will have the opportunity to enjoy a competitive match.

Yes, this match will be intresting to watch. England lost its previous test series against West Indies but Newzealand were able to draw their previous series against South Africa. In my opinion Newzealand are still in a better position than the English side. The only advantage England has is that this match is being played in their home ground.

The match is being played at Lord's, England's home match, so I think the England team is the favorite in this match. The New Zealand team also played poorly in their last two series. They drew the series with South Africa and Bangladesh. Both teams are now very weak in the Test format. And so now it is very challenging for New Zealand to perform well against a strong team like England.

The pitch seems to favor the bowlers. At first, I thought that the English bowlers did an amazing job by bowling out the NZ side for just 132 runs then after seeing how the English batters played it seems that the pitch was made for bowlers. England still trails by 16 runs and have already lost 7 wickets.

I look forward to watching the first Test match between England and New Zealand. These two teams are very strong for the Test format. However, New Zealand's performance in the last few series was not as good as we expected. They also lost a Test match against a team like Bangladesh. The match will definitely be competitive, no doubt about it. After New Zealand lost all their wickets for just 132 runs, we thought we would see a one-sided match. But New Zealand's bowlers have done exceptionally well. Trent Boult bowled 10 overs and took 2 wickets for 15 runs. Since England's collection is now only 116/7 runs. So now it is difficult for them to collect 132 runs. Batting in the first session is hard work, on the other hand, it is a bowling-friendly pitch.

And this is the same pitch where Zak Crawley and Alex Lees added 59 runs for the first wicket. What happened to the famed England middle order (Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes.etc)? I admit that New Zealand has the best pace attack in test format at this point. But England had the home advantage and in form batsmen. Really shameful.

We are in first session of Day 2 and 23 wickets have fallen. Both NZ and England failed miserably in first innings and NZ once again repeating batting performance in second innings. NZ top 3 gone just for 39 runs. May be we have result of this match today.

They are now 100/4. 40-year old James Anderson is once again shouldering the heaviest workload, along with Stuart Broad (Anderson has 645 wickets now, and I would love to see him getting 650 in this series). Matthew Potts took 2 wickets and his match total stands at 6. 40 plus overs remain for today's play and in case New Zealand manages to survive, then who knows, they may get to 200.

It is very difficult to win by batting against more than 200 runs in the last innings on such a pitch. Since New Zealand has lost only 4 wickets. So it is expected that they will be able to collect more 60/70 runs very easily. It would be very difficult for England's batsmen to win this match if they set a target between 270-280.
