This test series for me is really a waste of time. Since it was planned earlier that is why it is being played now otherwise I do not think the Srilankan cricket board has the funds to even host a series in their own country. I also do not consider Bangladesh to be a better side than Srilanka. Bangladesh being able to draw the first test with the Srilankan team shows how much the Srilankan team is affected by the current situation in their country.

If Srilanka can't host a series at the moment then ICC along with other boards must help Srilanka to host series inland or some other country. Its really a time of crisis for Srilankan cricket and ICC must not left Srilanka alone in this crisis. Right not the series is in Bangladesh and Bangladesh is taking full advantage of that.

Sri Lanka is going through an economic meltdown, while the situation has remained like that in Zimbabwe for the last decade or so. And in Afghanistan, the situation has worsened ever since Taliban took over the administration. So out of 12 test nations, 25% are in trouble. And this is a very large share, give the minute number of cricket playing nations. However, unlike the case with Zimbabwe the quality of cricket in Sri Lanka is yet to witness any significant deterioration.

True its not wise to travel to Srilanka for cricket but Srilanka with the help of icc can arrange its home series at some neutral venue like Dubai. We saw PCB doing that for many years since security situation in Pakistan was not good. I don't think icc won't allocate funds for that since there preferences are different.

Yes, that is true Bangladesh did not play for the win from the start of the match because if they did they would have had a very good chance to win actually.

But, I think in the second match they will be aiming for the win. this is a very good chance for Bangladesh to have a series win against Sri Lanka. but if Bangladesh wants to win they will have to bowl in very good line and length otherwise they will be leaking runs. Just like they did in the first match.

Bangladesh was not aiming for a win. From the start itself, they were on the defensive. The pitch was prepared to give undue advantage to the batsmen. Chances of getting a result was very low with such a track. On top of that, bowling from both the sides lacked venom. The pacers were defanged by the track and the spinners were not being aggressive. Nayeem Hasan bowled somewhat well, but he is going to miss the next test. On the Lankan side, Embuldeniya looked clueless. In short, this match did hardly any justice to the fans who watched it.

Their upcoming bilateral series against Australia is schedule in June next month, so far no words on cancellation from the both boards despite political and economical crisis.

Bangladesh vs Srilanka match has been ended in draw.This test match both team showed their great performance. Both team batsmen and bowler were showed well performance this test match.2nd innings Srilanka middle order batsman did very well.I think that test match was interesting to see.I hope cricket fans are very happy with this test match.

Honestly, I don't think cricket fans are happy with this match because this match could potentially have resulted if Bangladesh actually played for the win. Obviously, if Bangladesh played for the win either they could have performed a lot better or they could have failed miserably and in other cases, there would have been a result.

I don't think 16 million is a huge money that ICC should ask for the audit. ICC in turn is getting huge business from these countries. Srilanka are suffering since they neve prepared substitutes of there big players like Malinga, Sangakkara. When all these big names left at same time, Srilanka start suffering.

I don't have an issue if Sri Lanka or Zimbabwe wastes whatever funds they get. But the problem is that this funds were stolen from some of the smaller nations. During the 2007-2015 funding cycle, a total of $65.25 million was allocated for the associate nations, which was reduced to $20 million for the 2015-2023 cycle. This resulted in complete destruction of cricket in some of the countries such as Nepal and Kenya. The allocation for test nations were increased and this increase came at the expense of associate nations. And further, allocation within associates were changed in such a way to favor countries such as Oman and UAE, who have teams comprised 100% of foreigners.

Players who represent their country at national level needs to be very careful while speaking up. There will be millions of people who follow such players, and controversial comments may go viral and create a lot of controversy. Afridi needs to remember that his opinion may be considered as the national attitude towards certain ethnic groups and religions. And at the same time, Danish needs to remain under the radar right now. What he did can't be forgiven and he should thank the PCB for relatively fair treatment that was given to him after the controversy.

That happened because ICC doesn't care at all about the smaller teams in cricket. all they care about is how they are going to get money from cricket and how the flow of money is going to be maintained between the top teams and ICC. If they actually care about cricket, that money would have gone to the smaller teams that are trying to do well in cricket with their native players.

That is how the administration works in the ICC. In sports bodies such as FIFA, each and every country has same voting rights. Brazil has the same number of votes when compared to countries such as San Marino or Malta. That is not the case in ICC. There are 12 test playing nations, and each of them have 1 vote each. The 90 plus associate nations have 3 votes between them, and then there is one vote for an independent director (who almost always comes from the big 3). So it is not surprising to see the fund allocation for associate nations going down every year.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against Sri Lanka. And in the beginning Bangladesh faced batting disaster. They lost 5 important batsmen by 24 runs. The first two batsmen could not collect any runs. I have forgotten when Captain Mominul Haque last played well. He returned to the dressing room with 9 runs today. Shant was collected 8 runs and Shakib could not collect any runs. However, due to the responsible batting of Mushfiqur and Liton, Bangladesh's collection is now 265 runs.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 114 runs off 244 balls. Liton Das scored 128 runs off 213 balls. At the end of the day, Bangladesh will probably collect 265 runs and will not lose any more wickets.

The awful match become interesting for the partnership of Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das. Bangladesh has made a great comeback for their partnership. They lost the first 5 wickets too early. The betting odds was fully in favour of Sri Lanka when they took the first 5 wickets quickly. But the odds is in favour of Bangladesh now. Day 1 has ended, Bangladesh scored 277 runs by losing 5 wickets. Mushfiqur and Litton has added 253 runs with their partnership. Hopefully they will be able to make their partnership more long in the day 2.
