Last match the score was low and everyone were expecting a win from New Zealand, but the match turned towards England. This match have got the increased chance of ending in a draw. Surely England will make a good score. Atleast we'll see a 400+ runs from England in its first innings.

After the first wicket England was able to build up a partnership and it looks like the pitch is not offering anything for the bowlers and there are bets coming in for a draw, but i still believe it is too early to predict that as there is plenty of time remaining in this match, i am expecting the pitch to slow down considerably in the final two days and the match depends upon how England will be able to score in their first innings.

New Zealand bowlers apart from Matt Henry are looking threatening. The outcome of the match will be clear by today (3rd day). If England manages to avoid the follow on, then in all probability they will be able to save the match. Given the lack of support bowlers (especially the pacers) are getting from the pitch, it is perfectly doable.

A good partnership is making by Alex Lees and Ollie Pope. Currently we see that 84 runs already earned by them. It really good start in the first innings by New Zealand and England also starting well though they lost Zak Crawley very beginning. After all we will have a competitive Match between the two.

There is no doubt that the pitch is playing well, however someone must show patience and coolness, especially Root to maintain 1-0 lead.

I hope the catch drope of Pope doesn't affect the outcome of this test match. He is looking more agressive than Lee and has already reached his half century. England still trail by 463 runs and I do not think it will be easy for them to chase those runs. I hope both Lee and Pope continue to bat in the same manner on day 3 too.

Definitely a draw this time. We are in 3rd session of Day 3, England trial byn198 runs and still 6 wickets in hand. They will comfortably chase this by day 4. Its a good track for batting and we saw centuries from both sides batsmen. Good start for Stokes as a captain.

They are also trailing by 80 runs. So, I am not going to be surprised if they actually end up playing till the last session and declare just before the ending of day 4.

At this rate, if England bat for another 60 overs, then they will score another 250-300 runs to the total. That will take their total to the vicinity of 700 plus runs. First of all, they don't have enough wickets in hand (Ben Foakes is batting as of now, with Matthew Potts and Jack Leach to follow). And even if they don't lose any wickets, I am sure that Ben Stokes will announce the declaration much before the tea break. The run rate is above 4 runs per over, and I won't be surprised if they step up the scoring rate even further for the 4th day.
