New Zealand scored 431 in their first innings. Now Pakistan has started batting. I think Pakistan will lose all their wickets in 300 runs. New Zealand's pace bowling line up is very good. Fighting against them on a bouncing pitch is very difficult to survive.

I would be happy if Pakistan lose all their wickets and still manage to make 300 runs. I fear that they ma be all out in much less runs and may not be able to avoid the follow-on. Although its too early to say this but i don't see any positive energy in the team. They have lost one wicket in the first 16 overs of their innings.

They lost 1 wicket and managed to score 30 runs. I would be happy if they follow-on and lose the match by an innings. I don't see any experienced Test specialist players in their team. It is not surprise that they lost the match by an innings.

Like I said in a previous post before the match started that there was a tinge of green in this pitch and it showed with the great bowling performance by Bumrah. Now India need to keep this momentum going with the bat today but I think we will see rain delays maybe as its not looking too good right now as its overcast and they do expect rain later in the day. 

The 4th wicket partnership has so far added 48 runs and this has given the advantage to India. At one point, they were struggling at 64/3, but the partnership between Hanuma Vihari and Ajinkya Rahane has rescued them. But still there is a long way to go for India. They should target a total of 300 plus, which should give them a lead in excess of 100 runs. 

A target of 300 can only be achieved if this partnership continues though out today but unfortunately Bihari has left and now Jadeja needs to be there till the end.

Finally the Rahane came into the rescue while he is leading the team, surely a class performance from him when everyone is struggling there. And Jadeja also giving good partnership so they posted a lead of 80 runs while still having 5 wickets in hand. Another 70 runs into the scoreboard will put India in the comfortable position to win this match.

@mersal the momentum is with team India because their skipper is making sure that they post a healthy lead, and further I’m sure that he’ll hoping to take few quick wickets which will help team India win this match quickly.

It’s also pertinent to note that the play’s over for today, and currently India has a decent lead of 82 runs, and if they add more to it tomorrow then I feel that team Australia will be in big trouble.

Rahane played a composed innings and Australia dropped some catches which was disappointing and Pat Cummins bowled really well and yet India was able to build partnership and with Jadeja giving him good company they were able to increase their lead by 82 runs and the match for the day is called off due to rain.

The match can end up in a draw with the way things are going while i thought Australia could win the match.

Lol. I guess Sanjay will continue getting trolled for this comment for the rest of his life. As expected, Jadeja comes to the rescue once again just like he has done so time and time again in the past. The way he held the catch despite colliding with Gill was brilliant.

What made you think Australia could win this one? India are in a way better position and they will probably win this one as long as rain doesn't mess things up.

Australia cannot win the match unless India repeat the poor batting performance in the 2nd innings as they did in the first innings. India are on top in this test match and if rain does not spoil the match, India should win it from here.
On the other test match, SL are playing very well against SA and are  at 374/6 looking to make a big score in their first innings.

It will be almost impossible for Australia to win, unless they could restrict India to a lead of less than 100. With 5 wickets remaining, India's lead is already 82 runs. In all possibility, tomorrow they will be able to extend it to 150-200 runs and Australia is at the risk of an innings defeat here. But then looking at the way India played during the second innings of the first test, it will be very difficult to say anything with full guarantee.

And also the way Gill approach was positive than what other players doing in the first Match. I don't think the rain will spoil the party, looking forward to see the comeback of Indian innings more stronger.

Jadeja always had the potential, and during this series he got the opportunity since the top order batsmen failed. And regarding Gill, he looks to be much more confident when compared to Shaw in the first match. It will be quite a surprise if India manages to win this match, without their star players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami. And it will be a significant boost to the captaincy of Ajinkya Rahane as well. But right now it is too early to reach any conclusions. What happened in the first test is still fresh in my mind.

Ajinkya Rahane is the star as a captain and he made the right bowling changes and then scoring a century and leading the team from the front even though he was struggling with his back when the rain stopped the match, if India is able to score a lead well above 200 runs then the chances of India winning the match is a possibility and if that happens the power of captaincy by Rahane will be the shining factor and his stock as a captain will increase considering how badly India lost the first match.

If OZ go on to make a big score things may slip away from India.

2 days done and dusted. 700+ runs scored in 168 overs, almost 4.2 runs per over. Surprised to see that scorecard as you don't expect batsmen to dominate in such manner when playing in South African pitches, not sure what's happening. Are bowlers that bad or batsmen playing too good?

That's what he is very deserve for that as Rahane playing a captains inning and scoring an unbeaten century. At the end of the second day India lead by 82 runs. India are in control where Australia’s poor fielding has dropped their way out of the game. India has a great chance to win. However, The job has not done yet till then keep watching.

I am not sure whether the BCCI has enough courage to make Rahane the full-time test captain. Kohli and Damaadji (Shastri) are not going to accept this graciously, and Rahane for sure will be facing a lot of hostility. But personally I believe that this will be a step in the right direction. Kohli needs to be told that captaincy is not his birthright and he needs to improve on his performance as a captain.

The pitch is quite batting friendly and as well spearhead in bowling is missing from both sides. SA just behind by 79 runs and if Du plessis makes a century then SL might just be in little trouble as SA may take some decent lead here and still there would be enough days left in match to get result and SL would surely looking to wrap up SA as early as possible . Not very frequently we all see like 700+ runs being scored in just first 2 days of match.

I was expecting much from South Africa and i placed a bet before the match and i was surprised to see many new faces in both the teams. I have no idea about the team members in Sri Lanka as i am seeing those names for the first time and South Africa is also placing a new team and i cannot identify many players in the team and now i regret placing a bet on the match.
