An experienced opener is very much needed for a Test match. If a team can't get off to a good start, they have to fight hard to get back on track. It would be a blessing for India if Rohit Sharma plays as Agarwal's replacement. India will be able to perform better if there are skilled and experienced players like Rohit Sharma in the team.

Rahane has shown that he can win test matches as a captain, which means he need to get more opportunities. I do not think it would have been right for him to be replaced by Rohit Sharma. That would not have been ethically wrong. Keeping Rohit Sharma as a vice captain is a good decision as he has proven his ability as a good captain in ODIs in the past. His inclusion in the squad as a vice captain will only make the test team strong and he will be a great help to the captain too.

Rohit Sharma was not a regular test cricket player, he concentrated more on the shorter format and got huge success as well in the recent years. He also can be considered as one of the best scorers once he reached certain balls and score on a game so early stage is the big issue for him even in this IPL he didn't play outstanding innings, he was an average player but compared to the young openers who failed miserably then he is the only choice for replacement now.

If India playing Test match in their own backyard then Rohit sharma should be in the Playing XI without any doubt, even ahead of likes of Pujara, Rahane etc but when playing away then i am not too sure, his batting average is less than Jadeja. Hope this help....

Despite all this i am in favor of him opening the inning because last year he opened the innings against SA, BAN and made 3 tons. So team should try him at least 1 time.

you are right. The most important thing is, he is enough experienced. who knows how to play in any situation. He can perform well in the needs of the team. I want to see some great innings of Rohit Sharma against Australia.

Its not good to hear this news. I still think that they should of just played the third test match in Melbourne but now with the virus growing in NSW and now here in Victoria it is making it hard for the series to go on as borders are now shut to NSW and Queensland have shut their borders to NSW so after this test match in Sydney I don't know what they are going to do about the fourth test match which is meant to be played in Brisbane. The ACB have some big decisions to make right now.

So what happens if they are quarantined and how many days they will be kept under observation and in normal circumstances it is one week and with that the situation, is it possible for them to play the next match and if not it will be a huge setback as Gill will be the player that will be missing from the team and who will be replacing him.
Ganguly suffered a heart attack and was rushed to hospital and now he is in stable condition, hope he recovers soon.

Of course Rohit is going to replace Mayank Agarwal for sure because in both the matches shaw and Agarwal didn't give a good start to their innings which bring the struggle in real quick for other batsmen so having an experienced opener will solve a lot of problems in the middle order batsmen if they did then all the three departments of the Indian team will look too strong.

Rohit Sharma is not a regular opener in Test matches even though he is the regular openers in T20 and ODI and playing against moving balls will cause some issues as Rohit Sharma is not playing for a while and he was injured even during the IPL.

They are in isolation with the rest of the team but they are allowed to practice separately and there are no reports regarding them missing the next match and no confirmation from the BCCI either regarding the situation.

He quickly deleted the tweet after a few minutes of posting it, but Cricket Australia and the Australian government is looking in to it very seriously. Quarantine breaches put a lot of trouble for the Pakistani team, while they were visiting New Zealand. Visiting teams need to understand that the governments take these restrictions very seriously.

It all depends now on the Australian government, these guys would be punished for sure but what kind of punishment has to be decided. This same incident in NZ created a lot of problem and embarrassment for pakistan board.

The visitors have been very clear since arriving in Australia that once they were done with their initial 14-day quarantine at the start of the tour, they be treated as anyone else around Australia in terms of freedom of movement. And with fears now that they would be back in a less porous bubble which is likely to see their travel being limited from hotel to stadium to back upon reaching Brisbane, via Sydney, the Indians are keener to stay away.

"If you look at it, we were quarantining for 14 days in Dubai before landing in Sydney and doing so for another 14 days. That means we were in a hard bubble for nearly a month before coming out. What we don't want now is to quarantine again at the end of the tour," a source in the Indian team told Cricbuzz.

They might get bundle up before reaching 300 mark but it was excellent batting performance from Pakistani batmen on green pitch, considering Babar is not playing and they still manage to reach respectable total.

The whole series was one-sided. So far Pakistan has not won a single match. In the previous Test match, they could not reach 300 runs in any innings. I hope this match they will not be able to make 300 in any innings.
Their first innings is over, and they have lost all their wickets for 297 runs. I hope NZ will win this match easily.

I don't know is there any official news about those forum players will be playing or missing the next match but lot of memes on the social media mentions that they will be out for the remaining series.
