We don't expect such unprofessional gameplay from an experienced batsman like Steven Smith. He should have batted more responsibly and survived at the crease. He was able to collect only 6 runs. However, if Australia wants to win this match, they definitely need a big partnership. But if Usman Khawaja and Travis Head can't build a big partnership, it will be difficult for Australia to score 200 runs.

Australian middle and lower middle order is not weak. Even if Khwaja or Head fails, there is a good chance that upcoming batsmen such as Cameron Green or Alex Carey, or even Pat Cummins will be able to build a good partnership. Saw the highlights between Srilanka and Australia as I do not have the patience to watch it throughout the day and felt that the winner of this test match will be decided by the spinners again. Steve Smith's dismissal was unnecessary there was no need to take that run. The whole point of test cricket is to check the patience and skills of both batter and bowler. The game is still in its early stage but Australia needs to rethink its batting strategy as they have already lost 3 wickets and trail by 114 runs.

Australia was able to take a good amount of lead. And now Sri Lanka is batting. But I have particularly noticed that the way Sri Lanka has started batting in this Innings it doesn’t feel like the weekend is doing too much right now. Australia is still going on with the spinners. But Sri Lanka is not minding that at the start. And when I was writing that the Batman who was playing aggressive, Dimuth Karunaratne got out 🙂 and that wicket was also taken by a spinner 🙂

Sri Lanka is facing a batting collapse right now and the Sri Lankan team have lost 6 wickets for only 96 runs. And they are still trailing. I really don't see them winning in this match.

What a pathetic performance from the lankans and that too at home, no wonder test cricket is dying there for good and overall everywhere.

What happened to Srilankan batters? They were not able to play on a pitch created by them. This pitch from the beginning was a spinner paradise. Srilanka had more spinners than medium pacers but yet they were not able to stop the Australian batters and nor were able to play only two Australian spinners. What a shameful way to lose a 5-day match in a day.
