Another failed reverse sweep by Pant caught by Root at slip! A single here and there with odd boundaries would have made a major difference compared to this approach. The results of such unnecessary aggression and over-smartness are not always desirable. It is certain that India needs more than 400 runs on board. It will be a hard slog for England if it comes less than that.

Indian fans are very negative tbh.

This kid made 200+ runs in this test match, with this very technique and fearless cricket with great maturity but still we are cursing him. We should cut him slack as this is always high risk shot but also very rewarding, sometimes its going to come off and sometimes it's not, it's just part of the cricket.

Playing in game and talking from outside both completely different things, and we never know what is going to happen in ground but giving negative comments about any player is now usual business even we all know he has done amazing job and bring India in strong position with his crucial first inning but still want more from him is surely ill mind thinking.

I am satisfied with his both innings even after second now India is having troubles but just blaming his sweep is never been acceptable it's time for selectors to think about future and take some tough decisions because with current batting lineup you can't do good in SENA countries specially in England and New Zealand.

Kohli is also going more down with his effort and performance, need to think about his future and try to settle for IPL instead of doing these poor stunts.

This 119 is not a big score for English batsman, they are super kool like Aussie.
It is a real hard task to defeat English Team. But no doubt India's too played well. Winning and losing is the part of game. Good crickets we have seen so far.

It's actually a big score for them if both Root and Bairstow get out soon which is why ruling out India already is silly to be honest. England bounced back really well unexpectedly, but the game is far from over.

If other bowlers can support Bumrah by taking wickets, India could regain control in their favor. If not, it will indeed be a smooth ride for England from here.

He and coach together changed the mindset of this English team, at 1st inning they completely lost the plot with bat and ball but in second inning they ticked all the boxes, be it bowl, bat or persisting with their short ball tactics, which by the way back fired during Indian first inning.

Indian team now need a another magical spell from the bowlers just like "Oval" last year.

So naturally, everyone expected India to be able to deliver at least 400 runs target but none of the other batsmen in the team was active in the crease except Pujara and Rishab Pant. However, the target of 378 runs was not an easy target for England. Indian bowlers have failed to control bowling. England is collecting 107 runs in the first wicket partnership. After losing 3 wickets for just 2 runs, Root and Bairstow's unbeaten batting helped England collect 259 runs.

We cannot call the target of 378 runs an easy target. England lost all their wickets in the first innings for 284 runs. Even though India gave less target than we expected, I would say the 378-run target was enough to win if the Indian bowlers could bowl well. But the bowlers managed to take only 2 wickets in 57 overs. And England's batsmen have scored 4.54 runs per over. If India's bowling does not improve in the first session of the next day, then India will lose in the first session

I would say that at this point, the match is poised even. It can swing either way. England needs another 119 runs, while India needs 7 wickets. The partnership between Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow is now worth 150 runs. As long as these two stay at the crease, there will be no chance for an Indian victory. In case they manage to win this match, England would be able to draw the series 2-2. And that would be a big morale booster for them ahead of their test series against South Africa (starting on August).

England need only 119 runs to win. And England lost only 3 wickets. Experienced batsmen like Bairstow, Root, Billings, and Stokes still remain. I don't see any chance of India winning this match. For the first 3 days, the entire match was under the control of India. But on the fourth day, India is going to lose the match due to the poor bowling of Indian bowlers.

LOL.. they need to score another 119 runs and I don't know why you guys think that it is an easy target. Given the performance of the Indian bowlers so far, it is definitely not going to be a cakewalk for the Poms. And imagine what will happen if one of the set batsmen get out early during the 5th day of play. 
Ben Stokes and Sam Billings are next, and after that the tail starts with Matthew Potts. IMO, the situation is more like 50/50 now and if the Indian bowlers can get either Root or Bairstow during the first hour, then they may win the match.
