Every game could be "luck", even if you have the greatest team in the entire world, some luck wouldn't hurt. Considering Nigeria didn't really play all that well, and Tunisia played their usual self, it was expected to have a result like this. The best version of Nigerian team could easily beat Tunisia, we have seen them be awesome many many times, but sometimes teams just do not their best.

This could be considered as a way to gain experience and sometimes even the best teams have bad games and this was one of them for Nigeria and nothing more. Obviously if they played 10 games, I would wager Nigeria to be winners 5+ times. Tunisia also played with the similar roster for a while now and this allowed them to be a lot better than expected, having the same tactics with the same players is not something national teams get to do too frequently.

The game wasn't fair and not in our favour when super eagles played 10 players against 11 player and ended the game with 0-1 isn't really bad.
Alex was one of the top player that Nigeria depended on as a midfielder but unintentionally got a red card in the first 6 minutes of the game and the whole player became off balanced. Thanks to Okoye, the Nigerian Basket goalkeeper is just a no no for me with his style of jumping and handling balls.
Give Nigeria another chance Tunisia, we will show them what eagles are capable of doing under no pressure.

However, conflicts persist despite the end of AFCON. The Player of the Tournament award was given to Sadio Mane at the Afcon 2021. His penalty win in the most important game of the competition earned him the award. Many fans believed that Vincent Aboubakar should have won it. In the third place match against Burkina Faso, he rallied his teammates and would win him such award. Does this sound shady?

That's just the way those things often go. A player from the winning team is often favored against potentially better players from a losing team. I guess Aboubakar would have been the top player for sure if Cameroon had won the tournament.

Being a man down shouldn't be a good reason that players will get discouraged. On that game yes that the officiating didn't favour Nigeria but the players didn't come to the party themselves coupled with the choices of the coach. He brought in sodiq late in the match and we saw his impact. Some other strong attackers like Odion Ighalo was there but wasn't introduced. Team playing a man down is a time to fight harder, example Comoros played a man down against Cameroon but fought more until they got defeated eventually.

Sadie mene is to be named after a stadium in Senegal by one of the in South West Senegal.  This is to honour mine due to his great performance in the AFCON tournament and also as the best AFCON player of the year. Mene deserved to be celebrated,  he played a good role in the just concluded AFCON and also in Liverpool his club.

Don't go too far they also came second is the previous AFCON before winning the just concluded one. Mane is a very lovable guy in his country, he does alot of charity for them so the recognition would have come even though he didn't win them an AFCON although this just put the icing on the cake as now he'll be idolized.

When it comes to the premier league, Mo Salah will still be better than him at Liverpool, I feel Mane should leave to some other clubs so he can get more recognition. He's a good player but when there's more than one superstar at a particular club usually one gets outplayed and if they try getting into some competitive, the club surfers as the chemistry fails between them for selfish reasons.

The results of this qualification games will be different than the previous Cup.
Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Nigeria to qualify imo. Tunisia might get a chance also if it performs good against Mali. Well this is my first impression, things could change until then.

@snipe I was expecting Egypt to win the cup, but Senegal showed great resilience and won and therefore I expect them to beat Egypt again in the qualifying rounds. Furthermore the only way Egypt will win with ease if Salah completely dominates the fixtures, but if he’s not at his best then I don’t think that Egypt will win.

To be honest, I didn't think that Egypt could reach the final game when I saw its appearance in first games. They improved later but they were exhausted with successive 120 minutes games + stress, climate and so on. Many of these conditions won't be present in their next face-off + World Cup qualifiers aren't the same as AFCON. It is hard to predict which team will pass for sure but I believe Egypt could make it for the moment. I might change my opinion later in case of injuries...etc

It was a very good team work that gave Senegal the victory. There has been build up of the team like a long time like 9 years and with same coach also. It was a joint effort because they played like one family. For his performance in the club, he still may use this current foam and increase performance and Salah itoo.

Really mane put smiles to the faces of Senegal, the trophy alone is memorable and remarkable in the history of Senegal, i doubt that the eagles in mane in AFCON will not allow mane to participate well in Liverpool, i bet if he will he do well because of pride of wining African world cup. I think he has return, let us see if the pride will let do ok

Nigeria is really in big distress because I don't even see any reason they should be kicked out in round of 16 after playing all those number if matches unbeaten; it's a shame to them and I was thinking they were gonna claim this cup for once but it failed!
Mane has made great impact on the senegalise and even if he's gonna be named after football itself, he deserves it  . Although he lost a penalty that would have ended the game ever since between them, but he also scored a penalty that ended the competition and had them with the cup as the champions, bug congrats

No this is not correct because Nigeria has won the Afcon cup three times, the last one won as the most recent of them is 2013. The highest winners so far is Egypt and 7days. Senegal is now winning the cup for the first time. Congrats to them and mane .

In fact for the sake of information, 14 countries have won the Afcon trophy so far with Senegal as the current champion.

Sadio Mane is a great soccer player and more than this he is one of the best human on earth special for his own country men because he is doing some good charities and other things for helping his countrymen in different fields which is really great from this great person. Now authorities have named stadium with his name, it's very small from them because peoples like Sadio Mane is having more impact on their communities.

I am also big fan of this great fan even I mostly never watch his matches but still read some good and great works by this person for this humanity we need sports stars like him for having good impact on all communities without any issue. Senegal this win is also really amazing as they deserve this win after having very good run in this AFCON cup from start to end.

The world cup qualification for African nations will not be an easy one for each of the nations. What happened in AFCON can happen again, leaving everyone speechless of the results gotten.
All the same, am expecting Nigeria, Senegal, Cameroon, Tunisia and Egypt to come out strong to represent Africa in the world cup in Qatar 2022

Well Senegal and Egypt can't both go to the world cup, one nation will be dropped since they'll be playing against themselves which is very sad as either Mo Salah or Mane won't be playing at the world cup stage. Egypt will be wanting their revenge so this isn't going to be an easy one and probably the most heated match if this qualifiers than you have the match between Nigeria and Ghana. Both countries are rivals and would be putting in all man power ti win this. Although on paper, Nigerian looks favorite but I won't be surprised if Ghana come out the better team.

Another match to pay attention to is Cameroon vs Algeria. With Cameroon recent form, I think they should be able to defeat Algeria bit they shouldn't underate them as they're the previous AFCON champion for a reason. All the matches are looking intense, maybe African nations can prove something this time around.

I have to say they qualification for the World Cup for African teams is a bit weird with their small groups of 4 teams and then they have a K.O. round. Like this it is almost guaranteed that some good teams won't qualify? (as they have to eliminate each other in the K.O. round or lose there because of a bad luck game)
They should convert to the European style with slightly larger groups with a direct qualification of the 1st in the group

I'd love to see Tunisia truimp over Mali, they have a good game management and studies opponents very good, I'm looking forward to see them in the world Cup coming up June.
Now I can't just decide who should win between Egypt and Senegal, they have come this far and I think and see Egypt coming fir a revenge, they can still loss at the end of the day, back to back loss it happens in football.

Nigeria should be my favorite off course, yes my country ain't doing that great, but when it comes to qualifications like this, I'm sure certain they'll give it a hundred percent performance.

Unfortunately this factor is so important especially in Africa where the attack line is based on 1 player. Salah in Egypt, Mane in Senegal...etc I still remember Cameroon game where it was humiliated by Burkina Faso with 3 goals until Aboubakar entered the game and changed the game completely. In case he was absent, Cameroon participation will be a joke in their home.
Well, this is also available in most nations and local teams. CR7 in Portugal, Lewandowski in Poland and so on. Even if there is good players within the team, the absence of the best one will have an impact.

If you really check your records well I believe Nigeria already wins African cup of nation multiple times already so this is not the first time which Nigeria is trying to win. From what happen in this African cup of nation Nigeria real tried because Nigeria was the only country which qualified from the group stage with 9 points, even as they where disqualified from the knock out stage i believe they will do better in the next African cup of nation and also congratulations to Senegal.

Egypt wanting to have their revenge on Senegal will not be enough, they will have to play better and play to win because if it is in their plan again to drag the games to penalty, i don't think it is a good plan, I still think Senegal if they play with same squad that played in the finals should win this.

Nigeria and Ghana game is quite tricky to predict, we all know ghana didn't have a good run in the AFCON and have coaching/technical challenges, they just appointed Otto Addo as interim for the games against Nigeria, he may want to impress. However i still wish the super eagles well.

I predict Cameroon to qualify as well, i would love to see Aboubakar and Ekambi at the world cup battling for top scorers.

Egypt was lucky to have ended the AFCON in a penalty shoot out and still lost after all. Senegal would defeat Egypt with a clear margin because Egypt lack the squad to hold down senegal not even for a draw Mane would do what didn't have the chance to do against Egypt. Its only Salah i am seeing in Egypt and him alone can't move the team
