Is there a "request invite here" thread that I've missed or do we just politely ask here then?

It's just a visual thing to go along with the hashrate.  They've been there since day 1.

So, I think it's been about a week since I sent bitcoins to buy hashing power.
How long does it take?

I think we all need to come to terms with the fact that when a pay per share pool is giving .00003337, we probably aren't going to find buyers at .000055, which is why I've lowered my asking price.  Because the purchase price is still sitting at .000055 per share, I guess I'm the only one, and it is little wonder why people are unwilling to pay a 64% premium on a few minutes worth of 300 GH/s bragging rights.

mmm i think that even if we ask for 35uBTC per share the purchasing price per share is going to be 55uBTC (60 for priority) because is not the market (miners) that sets that price, gpumax does.

BTW i set my miners to 40uBTC, no leased shares

This is why I really believe we are currently doing things backwards.  The pricing power should be turned over to the buyers.  Only they know where it is profitable for them to purchase shares.  Let them compete to purchase shares, and we would see near 100% utilization of public shares.   I'd much rather get 100% of .000045 than the current 10% of .00005.

Currently, if a miner sets a low minimum, they currently get _only_ that minimum, no matter what the actual sell price is.  While this is Great for Pirate, that leaves no incentive for a miner to set their price at anything less than .00005.

At the very least, let us set an absolute minimum, but give us the actual sell price minus a flat 10% fee.

And yes, I have set my measly 5 Ghash at many veried prices between .000035 and .00005 and never, afterwards, have I seen the purchase price at anything but .000055.

Update

The soon has come! We'll be migrating the system to the new cluster today.  During this time we except the system to be down for about an hour.  Due to timing the changes with our DC we don't have an exact time for the down time, so please be sure to have a fail-over set for your miners so you don't get caught with your pants down.

I'll send another message with details of the update when all system are GO.

Thanks again for your patience and support.

-pirate

Cutover to new cluster has already improved things for me! Getting less rejects/disconnects now, plus the website seems to be improved (no transaction history, or payout estimate yet though, which would be nice!)

All my work seems to be going offline though  Sad  except for once and a while, where I will get lots of leased work for a short time, then back to all offline. Pirate, are you testing purchases on the new cluster still? Any idea when the cutover/testing process will be complete, and new purchases/resulting leased-work will be available?

I think we all need to come to terms with the fact that when a pay per share pool is giving .00003337, we probably aren't going to find buyers at .000055, which is why I've lowered my asking price.  Because the purchase price is still sitting at .000055 per share, I guess I'm the only one, and it is little wonder why people are unwilling to pay a 64% premium on a few minutes worth of 300 GH/s bragging rights.
