Cutover to new cluster has already improved things for me! Getting less rejects/disconnects now, plus the website seems to be improved (no transaction history, or payout estimate yet though, which would be nice!)

All my work seems to be going offline though  Sad  except for once and a while, where I will get lots of leased work for a short time, then back to all offline. Pirate, are you testing purchases on the new cluster still? Any idea when the cutover/testing process will be complete, and new purchases/resulting leased-work will be available?

Ditto; my rejects are significantly lower. Any news on public work Pirate?

I must be getting some public shares to receive .02 btc from gpu max and the rest from my backup

In the last couple of days during the migration there were brief periods where they did the public work that is the payment you see, I also got one for those days.

People might have realized that its not profitable to pay .000055 a share.  Pirate might not have any buy orders right now.  I have been on public works since yesterday at .000036.

Guys seriously, transferring to a new server/cluster isn't an instant bang bang done thing, it usually takes a bit to optimize. Setting your price to something retardedly low like that will only make it impossible for everyone else to have theirs high. The reason you aren't getting leased shares isn't because you are charging too much, it's cause leased purchases likely aren't happening right now.

It isn't a price issue right now as rjk said...

I thought that Pirate said earlier that price is the result of some function and asking prices on miners' parts.

I thought that Pirate said earlier that price is the result of some function and asking prices on miners' parts.
The price paid for rented power is a function of how much the miners are asking to be paid. If the ask is too low, then the buyers pay less, and everyone makes less. If people keep asking 0.00003, then the buyers will only be paying 0.000035 or 0.00004, and those that are asking 0.00005 or 0.00006 won't be paid at all.

If you want the buyers to pay 0.000055 or 0.00006 or whatever, you can't set your price at 0.00003, it just won't work. I guess it's a little harder for people to figure out since there are no fancy charts of the bid/ask and also since bid/ask functionality is severely castrated in the current software's form.

Update

After a problematic migration we're now ready to fire back up the system and throw everything we can at it.

It's now time to get back to inviting.  To those that have patiently waited on the waiting list, I'm sorry for the delays and hope it will be worth the wait. Smiley

Enjoy,

And yes, I have set my measly 5 Ghash at many veried prices between .000035 and .00005 and never, afterwards, have I seen the purchase price at anything but .000055.

Sigg

The price people pay is based off the bottom 50% of what the average price is.  Do you really think your 5G is going to push around the price that these guys with 200+G have set?  You are small fish and get to swim whichever way the water is flowing.

I'm getting public work, but ~35% (!) rejects. Anyone else experiencing this?

One of my rigs with 1.7 GH/s running Phoenix 2 is getting 90-100% rejects, also tried phoenix 1.7.5 which got 100% rejects. On a rig with 235MH/s, phoenix 2.0 is running fine, but on newer drivers... Rig with 1.7GH/s is using 5870s/5970s, so if I update the driver I will lose a signifcant amount of MH/s. Also, I am not convinced this is driver related.

Have a rig with 1.5GH/s running DiabloMiner 11.12 drivers, which is getting an acceptable amount of rejects, but GPU usage is all over the board, jumping between 0 and 100% usage, and everywhere in between, in no particular order on all of my GPUs, this is resulting in about a 20% decrease in hashrate  Angry

Have a rig with 2.3GHs, using 7970's and DiabloMiner, which also has GPU usage problem, but much worse, resulting in about 50% decreased hashrate.

About a day ago, my rig with 1.5GH/s was working just fine offline, since public work resumed over the past however many hours, this problem started occurring.

I am curious why DiabloMiner, which is not listed as supported by GPUmax, works better than Phoenix 1.7.5 and 2, which are listed as compatible...

are you using BAMT? i had many issues with BAMT with phoenix and phoenix2 until i started using cgminer

but it looks like you have more experience building mining rigs than me so what do i know
