Everyone, quit farting around and just leave it at 0.00005.  What is so hard about that?

We're heavily backed up on purchases ...
From page 72.

Yeah but heavily backed up on 20000 share purchases is probably not enough to satiate everyone's desire for leased shares 24 hours a day.  Wink

Except leasing doesn't run while pirate sleeps.

Anyone is getting public work today? I couldn't lease any shares the whole day! It seems to me leasing is more stable night time! I even tried to set the price down to 0.00004 and 0.00003! nothing! no public work!

Please go back and read previous posts about this.

Current purchase price per share is 0.00005116 BTC/share.  BUT, that doesn't include pirate's cut, right?  So if I set my workers to 0.00005115 BTC/share, I wouldn't get work, because the threshold is somewhere below that after the cut?

Correct, you have to subtract ~10%. In this case you should get work (when purchases are running) around .0000046. The price is fluctuating quite a bit though.

More specifically you should divide the current purchase price by 1.1 (a little different than just taking 10% off).  Issue is (could be) if purchases are backed up at different amounts, the "current" purchase price might not be relevant.

No one is actually going to pay attention to this, but here goes anyway...

Purchases happen when they happen. Stop constantly asking if there are any running. Stop changing your pricing to check if purchases are running. Pirate will let us know when there are not purchases running. Just because server upgrades were performed does not mean that purchases are started automatically.

What needs to happen is Pirate needs to implement one or more of the following...

A way to track whether or not purchases are running, something simple like a little icon on the GPUMAX page.
A better bidding system where the buyers set bids for shares and miners can either accept or reject offers for shares. That would be a true marketplace.
Automated purchase handling.

I know Pirate has many projects going. I'm wondering what he's actually doing behind the scenes. Is he just trying to keep up with the backlog of stuff that's building up?

If so, take some time to sit down and focus on one thing and get it done. Make an improvement, for now it just seems as if this beta has just stalled to sit around and do nothing.

Anyway...carry on.

It really seams like so,  I see the purchase price changing more often as sign something is moving though.

announcement?

There is talk / rumour of pirate announcing some radical changes to how the purchases run and how the price is determined rather than the current confusing system.

Or so I think / hope Wink

Is this even worth subscribing for a beta invitation? Or is there a backlog of several years anyway?
Would be nice to show that on the registration form.

Years, NO... Maybe just 13 months.  Nah, we stopped invited due to maxing out our system.  We should be able to get everyone on within a week.

Hm, apparently not, from what it looks like?

I think I signed up about a month ago & haven't gotten anything...  On the question of your hash rate, I put 5000Ghash instead of 5Ghash, though..  Grin

Way more than a month here, just 500MHash, and still no invite.
Doesn't seem like they are interested in new users at all, so it's probably not worth waiting for it.
Just use P2Pool, if you have a low-latency setup you can make 105% PPS there as well, and earn an additional bonus from merged mining.

I was mining for GPUMAX for about a month solid.  Then something happened to purchasing or whatever.  Kept messing with my price and never getting any shares.  I went back to BTCGuild in the meantime.  Every time I come back to this thread I keep reading about people having the same problems.  Is this project going to get development and head towards stable?  I think it's cool to get more than the major PPS pools, but we need to get out of alpha/beta stage already.  It's coming up on 6 months of development.

So if I set my workers at 0.00004, where does the difference go?  I get what it's set at.  Does the buyer get a discount or does pirate just pirate the difference?

Not hating - just wondering.
