i need 10 bitcoins for retire
well thats not enough for 20 years. even if you're from 3rd world country I still doubt if it can cover all  your expenses with this 20 years time span..

in wealthy countries you can't even do much with 100btc if you assume the price will rise to $5000-$10,000. you'll need to make sure you have at least 400-500 coins priced at $10,000 each, to fully retire from it for a normal person.

yes in European countries have a high cost, especially if your life of luxury, perhaps 100 BTC enough for 1 month.
but in my country 100 BTC could for living expenses for one year, even 5 years or more. and it depends on us, to grow by way of investment.
yes at least the price must be above $1k-5k to become a millionaire with 100 BTC

You people belong to the high class community, I can live with 100BTC for 20 years and that is already a good amount for my retirement. I would say that if I have that amount, I would really make a good business in our country and increase that amount in due time.

Lol it's beyond my expectations I think altcoin just a complement of bitcoin. I think there is no future for one altcoin dude ? altcoin will come and go and altcoin will die and then be replaced by another altcin. very risky if you use altcoin for investment in the future ?

Well those alt coins you have said have also the potential to pump for the next years, but still I'm relying to bitcoins since it is the most popular coins of all, but that is also a good idea to have some of that alt coins too and you will need to have it also for future purpose and it might give you also
some profit from it. But 10 btc I don't think is enough for retirement for 20 years.

It depends on what the price per Bitcoin is at that moment and with how much money you want to retire with. Lets say the price is $5000 with in 20 years, that means that with 100 you would have $500,000 which is not bad at all.

$5000 seems to be the price that is difficult to achieve, you have to imagine the next 20 years the price of at least $1000, so you need more bitcoin, 1000 bitcoin very decent.

$5000, i think he is not talking about 5000 BTC. But if he is telling that 5000 BTC, so it is too much biggest amount. i think no one have this amount of bitcoins in Bitcointalk.
For me reasonable bitcoin 1000 Bitcoin is enough but we are saving for 20 years, it is long time period, if we save now 100 Bitcoin in this time i m sure it is also enough amount for 20 years.
I think that $5000 mention for the amount of bitcoin is really high enough for me t save for my future and i am also thinking that will I be able to save that kind of money in real life. I really wish that I could be able to make it and even though it will be more than 20 years on my part I should start doing it right now like really now. I am getting older and I have to do more than I can while I am still be able to work. I am actually more focus on my family standing and my parents life.

I think altcoin would not survive in the future, but maybe you need very many bitcoin in this regard. probably more than 10 BTC, and maybe we need more than 50 BTC to become rich in the

That's a good amount for retirement but that's even too much for me, I would love to retire at 100BTC and in 20 years the value would be X100 with its current price, still a huge amount though.

It depends on the price of btc,,even if you save 1000btc after 20 years ,and the value of bitcoin is only 20$  and its worthless ,,and in other part you save only 100btc but the value is 5000$.. its not important how many you have  but rather how high is the btc price after 20 years

We can't say what would be the value of bitcoin after 20 years, and if it still on the trend and being used as universal currency in the world.
For me, you need thousands of btc just to sure and wise, and that amount is enough for 20 years I guess even the price of bitcoin will go down.

Like of the altcoins developer in the person of sasha ivanov developer of the waves, he said that there cannot be only bitcoins will perform in the future, the altcoins are designed not to outperform the bitcoins but to make it more popular using altcoins as the fuel for more modified transactions that would fit to different businesses in the world.

Lol if you think that bitcoin could rise as high as it was by your predictions. Why you should buy what you can afford to lose? if you think that the price of bitcoin was high in the future. then there is no doubt for me. and I will buy bitcoin as much as I can. and I will fill it up to the future

Lets say I want to buy bitcoins today and store them for 20 years to use a my retirement fund.  Live comfortably, but don't need to buy a yacht or anything.  How many do you think I would need to buy?

I think it is difficult to estimate the bitcoin you need, because only you know your needs. But I feel more secure if your money is in the form usd, because it is too risky to use bitcoin for long-term as 20 years. thank you
