Honestly I cannot understand why people keep answering scum like Bobsurplus, or trying to reason with people like smoothie and their army of alts.

After ignoring them for more than a week this thread has become so much better

Though smoothie I have to vouch just has his opinions on how he sees things.....

This is the point, all differences of opinion are not FUD. It's not necessarily what is said but how and, why. There is a basic human need to be recognized and to get attention from other humans, good or bad. On the bad side, most of us will put up with a crap spewer once or even twice but that's about the limit. If the crap starts to interfere with our enjoyment of whatever it is we are doing, such as reading this forum, then one of three things happens depending on the individual:

1. We crap back
2. We move somewhere else
3. We ignore

#1 is the first response that comes to mind. Most people want to prove the other person is an idiot right away, doesn't work though because a response is what they need. Trust me, proof is not required, it's obvious.

#2 is difficult and counter productive since the forums are specific to the readers interest.

#3 works best since it takes the reader out of the situation and, has the side effect of angering the crap poster though most won't admit it.

The only problem with #3 is that, after all, we are still human and most of us still want to engage the antagonist even though we know better. So, take the high road, don't engage and they will eventually fade away. There's plenty of real estate to spew crap on in these forums and it's easy to move on and ruin someone else's day....

PS: If you MUST engage, try to be intelligent, use words with more than one syllable, don't curse, don't drop to their level and above all, don't post more than one reply...

Just my 2 cents...

It was just restarted yesterday. They took it offline when the hack happened, along with veri-bit, to limit any potential problems.

It was up and running again as of last night. They also have another Zues miner giveaway going.

I asked that question at the irc channel, now it works. I got my first payouts after the rollback.

Looks like my buddy didn't want to wait anymore. We come to rescue a few thousand VRC from the coffers of bittrex and return them to a personal wallet for staking!

1 more VeriCoin supporter out of NY. He is right now buying 1 btc, and I can't help it, decided on getting 1 for myself to.

If someone wants to put up a couple bitcoin at a nice price I'll mow that down, thx!

*edit So kind! over 1 btc filled, I must have more! Sorry for jumping the price  Grin

I just want to take a moment to say I'm very impressed by the VRC community for not jumping ship when the whole MP fiasco went down.

I have been a strong supporter of VRC for about 4 weeks now, ever since I first heard about the coin and talked to the dev team. While I don't chime in too often on bitcointalk.org or the IRC channel, I am watching 24/7 and follow any/all news I possibly can.

I would say what happened over the weekend would be one of the worst case scenarios that most of us couldn't have even predicted. Now that the dust has settled and we are still trading in the 30k+ statoshi range, well it's just awesome. I was hoping for the best but planning for the worst and I have to say out of all the possible outcomes we could have seen following the MP hack, I think we came out on top.

Nice job everyone! Now back to business as normal Smiley

In Bittrex is around 110BTC, not so bad at all, the platform is good, UI not so bad, fees a bit higher but swallowable (sp? hehe) and you have more advanced trading options than in MP

Worth a shot.

Anyone with questions about how useful the VeriCoin wallet is, really needs to show it to some friends and get a real world feel for its practicality.

My friend that I set up today thought that the veri-bit thing was in his words "that's smart". He uses Bitcoin, but has never even made a personal wallet. He uses Coinbase w/2FA and plays poker mostly. I went to the VeriCoin website. As we downloaded the wallet, I pulled up the bio's of the developers to show him.

He was very impressed with the wallet and how easy it was to back up and secure. He was impressed with the quality of the products, and even more with the quality of the people involved. He got a few thousand coins for now but everyone has to start somewhere. This is his first real investment in crypto aside from holding bitcoin as a transfer medium. He really can see the vision here and he was really excited about his investment in this coin.

Common people see the vision here. Its just a matter of time before more, and more people get sick of anonymous devs, PnD games, and they start to see that crypto can become useful to more people.

I also looked into it and found the github the best place to find a decent script for it. I am now testing https://github.com/tuaris/multifaucet.
Sorry but I can't help you further then that.

It is a bitch bro I gave up on it due t the amount of time it was taking. But yes there is multiple scrypts on Github that can do this if you have the time to alter them from BTC to VRC.
