Anyone with questions about how useful the VeriCoin wallet is, really needs to show it to some friends and get a real world feel for its practicality.
My friend that I set up today thought that the veri-bit thing was in his words "that's smart". He uses Bitcoin, but has never even made a personal wallet. He uses Coinbase w/2FA and plays poker mostly. I went to the VeriCoin website. As we downloaded the wallet, I pulled up the bio's of the developers to show him.
He was very impressed with the wallet and how easy it was to back up and secure. He was impressed with the quality of the products, and even more with the quality of the people involved. He got a few thousand coins for now but everyone has to start somewhere. This is his first real investment in crypto aside from holding bitcoin as a transfer medium. He really can see the vision here and he was really excited about his investment in this coin.
Common people see the vision here. Its just a matter of time before more, and more people get sick of anonymous devs, PnD games, and they start to see that crypto can become useful to more people.

Is anyone familiar with making alt coin faucets?
I would really like to make a VRC one if anyone can help.
I also looked into it and found the github the best place to find a decent script for it. I am now testing https://github.com/tuaris/multifaucet. Sorry but I can't help you further then that.

It is a bitch bro I gave up on it due t the amount of time it was taking. But yes there is multiple scrypts on Github that can do this if you have the time to alter them from BTC to VRC.

If you've ignored a number of users recently and, like me, are mildly annoyed by the fact that the ignore "feature" doesn't remove their posts (it simply replaces their text), I've made a little TamperMonkey/GreaseMonkey script just for you! https://greasyfork.org/scripts/3372-bitcoin-talk-forum-ignored-user-cleanupThis script completely removes any posts created by ignored users; you'll be blissfully unaware of their annoying blathering! For this script to work, you'll need to have TamperMonkey (for Chrome) or GreaseMonkey (for Firefox) already installed. I've only tested it in Chrome, but it should work in Firefox, as well. If you're wary of installing custom scripts, you can view the Code for this script on the site linked above and see that it's really just a single line of code. It removes all HTML Table Rows (new forum posts) that contain a child element with an id containing the text "ignoremessages". That id is assigned to the messages of ignored users. Edit: I tested the script in Firefox; 'works like a champ!

"The greatest change is that anyone using a New York-sanctioned Bitcoin or cryptocurrency service will no longer be anonymous". "Now, any business whose essential service is buying, selling, or processing Bitcoin will have to maintain records of their customers' names and addresses, and check them against the Treasury's list of bad actors". The spread of this kind of regulation will leave few exchange options for anon coins like Darkcoin (which will be renamed to Mafiacoin).

Veri-Bit is a really nice feature. I don't get what all the fuss is about over it. Veri-Bit actually can save you money in some cases.
With current prices, a withdraw at cryptsy is 0.0005 Bitcoin (0.305 USD) cents or 0.0002 Vericoin. (0.000038 USD)
Veri-bit = 1 VRC (0.191 USD) The only limitations to this whole situation is the 1 btc cap on veri-bit for now.
So you can transfer coins to Vericoin wallet from cryptsy, or ANY place that has high bitcoin fees. Earn interest if you stake the network, And you will save your money with none of the inconvenience, or fees associated with transfering them to exchanges to sell, and then back to your bitcoin wallet to be sent out in a merchant transfer. Veri-Bit makes this so easy... Its almost TOO tempting!
Every time I see the veri-bit feature in the wallet I think its subconsciously saying, "hey man, come click on me, lets have a good time"
will they remove the 1 BTC cap in the future? that way, Veribit can be used for buying tickets (international) like i do with bitcoin..

I guess the 3-4 fudders who kept vrc at the top of the forums posting 12 hours straight 5 times a page finally all bought after getting their victims to sell to them.
Was actually very impressive how badly they wanted to buy. No sane person posts the way smoothie and crew did without needing/wanting to buy a substantial amount.
Why do people assume (and make accusations with no proof) that I wanted to buy a substantial amount of VRC? FULL DISCLOSURE: I own 0 VRC and will never buy a single one ever. REASONING: I would not ever want to be a part of the catastrophic effects of a rollback in the future should a massive hack/scam/theft happen related to VRC. My posting has much to do with pointing out BS and calling things as I see it. If you knew my reputation on this forum you would know what is how I operated from day 1. Tell me about which part of the rollback is catastrophic. In the future a merchant could take payment in VRC and a huge hack comes along...rollback...oops VRC gone from your wallet even thought you sold goods. Please explain to me how this is different from the risk every credit card accepting merchant faces every day. What risk are you talking about exactly? Chargeback. More commonly known to those outside the industry as a 'dispute'. Credit cards are weighted in the consumers' favor by a substantial margin, and having a transaction reversed is pretty commonplace. Selling goods or services for an agreed amount and then having the transaction reversed is pretty much a standard cost of business for any merchant, and occurs far more often than a rollback. Hell, more counterfeit currency is accepted daily than the total dollar amount of the transactions effected by the rollback. In other words, why should a merchant be afraid of a loss in a transaction when they already assume far greater risk of loss every day? You presume all merchants like the fact that they can get a chargeback. Personally as a merchant myself I dont like chargebacks. I honor what I say I will do and accept only cryptos that have a track record that I trust not to do that. Your definition of "standard" is not necessarily what people would do as oppose to what they are required to work with. Just like how we in the US do not have a choice but to use Dollars as the currency for most debts private and public and for payment. Just because it is a "standard" doesn't make it morally right nor does it mean that it is the way things should be. Ask any merchant if they like having charge backs. I suspect you will find very few that enjoy getting a chargeback especially if they held up their end of the deal and delivered the goods. In my scenario it would assume I sent goods to another user for payment in VRC...then a huge VRC scam takes place...then a roll back occurs and I do not have my VRC because of the roll back. Now tell me how that would be a fair/standard situation which is what we are really discussing as opposed to your "every day business" scenario? How? After reviewing your posts, you do seem a bit butthurt dude, like you where losing something really valuable with the rollback... I mean, what the f*** its in it for you, you aint invested, you could not care less as you already said few million times, yet you keep posting your BS in here, and seriously dude, starts to be pretty boring : / how about some porn, a good wank and relax a bit... after long day trolling, give yourself a break
