By the way, I'm new to proof of stake "mining".

Does it do any kind of brute-force search to mine blocks? I see stuff about a "target" and see it using a fair bit of CPU.

Yes. It's basically CPU mining, but the client will only try to generate a block when it is actually eligible. It is not mining 24/7.

(Still, would be interesting if the client was able to outsource mining to an ASIC as necessary. Wonder if this can be done, and whether it would give you any advantage?)

can you add a paper wallet  KEY ?
how do we do it ?

The key should be in WIF(wallet import format) for the importprivkey command (I believe).

I would expect that your papet wallet likely has your key in that format.
Nothing stopping you from trying, regardless.  If you do, please report back with exactly what paper wallet software you used, and what your results were.  We will post it in the OP post Grin

Proof-Of-Stake uses something called the stakeModifier to prevent folks from brute forcing stake blocks.
Proof-Of-Stake is still new and essentially being tested, but has fared quite well thus far - CLAMS itself was in some ways an attempt at testing PoS, as we did not have a public mining period, i.e. as far as I am aware are the first truly PURE Proof-Of-Stake coin, though I may be missing an IPO or Giveaway coin I am unaware of.

It is possible to tell if you have clams just by putting the public address in the block chain explorer?

This is theoretically possible, but made much more difficult for a couple of reasons.

#1 The protocol uses something that are called "change addresses".  Every time you send coins, the remaining unused coins from those outputs are sent to a "change address" in your wallet.  This means that your BTC/LTC/DOGE is very likely not presently controlled by the privateKey/publicKey/Address set that you think it is.

#2 It is possible to convert your BTC/LTC/DOGE address into a CLAMS prefix/network address, but not extremely simple.  I believe we used python or GO to get in done when we did the distribution.  You would have to convert it to check.

What about MultiDoge wallets? I tried same way like Multibit but doesn't work.

I see no reason at all that MultiDoge should not function very similarly as MultiBit.

Has anyone in the community successfully converted a MultiDoge wallet and claimed CLAMS?

If so, we would certainly appreciate a report on how it went for you, or even a guide that we could post in the OP Post.

We would be more than happy to post your donation CLAMS address below your guide if you were to do so!

Guys I need you help. CLAM client loads but turns off after loading.. I'm working on linux. What else can I write yo help you to examine my issue?

There have been reports of a start-up database issue that we haven't had time to correct, and also affected our fork BlackCoin, but I believe that only affected Windows users.

As with any bug-stomping endeavor the more information you can provide, the easier it is to work through these problems.

this coin suck for any one like me that use coinbase wallets . and never brought into the hype of LTC/DOGE or mine directly to exchange Sad

I think this is a great time for you to consider re-evaluating who you trust with your Crypto-Currency.

If you utilize a service that refuses to give you access to your private keys, or worse, only stores your "account" information in a database and co-mingles your private funds........

I would consider sending a support message to this service demanding the CLAMS which are rightfully yours.
They did, afterall, receive your portion despite the fact that it was your funds that they were attributed to.

There is an older thread floating around the forum here with a list of Scams and other coin theft or male-feasence.
It is an educational read that every crypto-enthusiast should take a gander at.

All clams sent to my wallet never show up, and the mining part is super opaque/non transparent and has not paid out either. Does this mean all the clams I bought on poloniex are vanished in transaction?
Withdrawals from poloniex.com disappear... whelp, that sucked.

If you had a withdrawal from Poloniex disappear you should certainly contact support at Poloniex!

Note that if you do add a paper wallet key, and then your computer gets compromised, you lose the balance of your paper wallet. A smart hacker will recognise that all the keys in your clam client correspond to BTC/DOGE/LTC keys, and will try importing them into each of them.

Indeed.

If the paper wallet was intended for secure offline coin storage, importing the wallet/keys would expose them to the internet connected system and all the security risks that entails.

A very good point.

Dooglus,

Sent the errors and issues you reported over to some of the more intelligent folks on the team.

Issue tracking and submission should be available on git, as well.

I am loving this coin/concept....  Wink

Am I right in thinking a Block Explorer for CLAM would be sort of useless for getting a true sense of how many CLAM has actually been claimed?
Or is there a way to indicate how many have actually been 'dug' up?

This is something we are currently wrestling with as we speak.

There have been some ideas posited that it might be possible to query the chain data identifying outputs which have moved since the distribution ended.

This wouldn't identify CLAMS which have been claimed but not moved, but it would identify distribution outputs that had been moved, and therefore clearly been claimed.

Not an easy task however, as there are a lot of outputs -> but we are optimistic.
