Some thing might be wrong with my staking. My first and only was 0.11 48 hours ago. And for some reason while staking sgminer 4.1.0 crashes every so often. Crashing only started since wallet update.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

So now the "Clam Shell" consists of about 10 BTC in buy orders slightly above 0.001...
Everybody can relax... and get a good night's sleep.

This is great...
Because so many young coins steadily drift to zero and get delisted...
And "Clam Shell" looks to be great stabilizing solution for this.

Now we need to get some Alt Press about all features...
We have at least 3 interesting features worth writing about.

I have ~.13 CLAM in an address with 8 inputs.  The most recent input has ~1000 confirmations.

Can anyone explain to me why these aren't staking?  Mainly curious.  Are the TXOUTs too small to stake for some reason?

There is a minimum balance for staking on some coins, I don't know about Clams.

But is your wallet encrypted? Staking won't occur if it has a password.
Not encrypted.  Anyone have a clue what's up here?  Is there a minimun balance required to stake?

Ideas anyone?
More algos coming to the multi-pool anytime soon?
Viking coin has 5 Mill.coins only ,but almost dead though. May be interesting to pick up. Dunno.
Small Correction Viking Coin has 5,000 (5 thousand coins.) Viking is far from Dead, we are in the process of adding merged mining to Viking Coin.

Sure, we have all of the graphics in vector format.
I will look into getting them into an archive and posted in the OP Post soon Smiley

Grin Sweet!
My math may be wrong (you seem to be the expert mathematician, dooglus) but what does the ROI on the CLAMS Lottery look like at the moment? lol.
Why would anyone invest in an A.S.I.C. or mining rig when there is a proof-of-pearl(stake) coin like CLAMS that essentially functions similar? Grin

Another coin with a similar method of distribution to CLAM launched recently - there are free distributions for Dogecoin, Bitcoin and several other coin holders too.
It's called LottoShares, and users can immediately use their funds to play the lottery!
More details here -

Glad to see someone taking the CLAMS Proof-Of-Chain idea and running with it. Don't entirely agree with their choice to only distribute to the richest pubKeys, but the thought is nice.  Let us hope that they are as trustworthy with their user's privateKeys and their code as we have been.

No idea what the issue is with sgminer, as it shouldn't be related.  Concerning your staking, it appears that staking is enabled and active - I would expect that your outputs are simply not old enough or large enough yet to stake again.  Regardless, time will march onward and age will accrue; making staking inevitable.

I will ask one of the other Devs next time I see them; but I am not aware of a minimum size to stake.  That said, 0.1 coin @ 10 age == 1 coin @ 1 age, ergo it may take some time for those small outputs to accrue enough age to stake.

The blockchain viewer is down Sad

khashier.com:2750

Also, since I'm writing...

When staking, would having several good sized blocks or one good block be better? Will multiple blocks in a single wallet stake at the same time? Or does it have to wait to complete a staked block?

We were hoping a community member would step up and create a block explorer for CLAMS - the explorer @ http://www.kHashier.com:2750/ was not intended to be a permanent solution.  Getting it back up now.

Multiple outputs in a single wallet can be combined to stake in the same coinStake if they are controlled by the same "address"/pubKey. Honestly, this is not an optimum solution considering that CLAMS does not give a bonus reward based on output size.

Outputs controlled by separate "addresses"/pubKeys operate independently as far as staking is concerned.

Concerning optimum stake output size, this is ever changing as the network weight changes.
I don't believe anyone has done the math as of yet, though the distribution amount of ~4.6 CLAMS seems to stake quite well.

Hope that is helpful Grin

Right now Viking is trading on two exhanges that don't see much volume. RockyTrade.net and Allcrypt.

KGW still in place for now which makes for good mining. Once merged mining is finish who knows where the diff will end up.  Viking Coin page in my sig.

Not encrypted.  Anyone have a clue what's up here?  Is there a minimun balance required to stake?

There's no minimum balance, I don't think. There's a minimum time of 4 hours.

After that, you work out the "clam days" of your outputs. If you have 0.13 CLAM that hasn't moved for 3 days, you have 0.39 "clam days" (multiply value by age). I think that 0.39 is then rounded down to an integer, which might be your problem, since it will go to 0 for you. But suppose you had 13 CLAM that hadn't moved for 3 days.  That's 39 clam days. That gets multiplied by about 4000 (depending on the current difficulty). So you get 39*4000 = 156,000. Then every second your client hashes a bunch of stuff and gets an effectively random number between 0 and 4.3 billion. If the number is less than your 156,000 then you get to stake. 156,000 is about 27,500 times smaller than 4.3 billion, so you get to stake about once per 27,500 seconds (458 minutes, 7.5 hours).

So 13 CLAM that's 3 days old stakes every 7.5 hours or so. As it gets older, its chance of staking increases.

And I think your 0.13 CLAM needs to be 1/0.13 = 7.7 days old before it gets over 1 "clam day", and so even has a chance of staking, though I might be wrong on that point.

We would appreciate it if someone with experience parsing block chains would verify our work, however:

Super Rough Estimated Total Current Distribution of CLAMS:

~8,280 "Claimed" + Staked CLAMS = ~9,000 CLAMS.

The "Staked CLAMS" is about as rough of an estimate as exists.
It is late, and I will get an exact figure on "Staked CLAMS" tomorrow Grin

That some serious clam. If ( and I hope 'when' ) this CLAM thing takes off people will start digging for more clams.... until then this is one of the most rare coins in history....

I see the network weight increasing.... more people must be staking..
Me? Up to about 5.2 CLAM.

I stupidly moved all wonderfully aged 27 clams over the exchange initially, so now I'm playing catchup, which is difficult if not impossible? After 3 days (even though it continually said 10 hours and then 3 hours near the end for a whole day) it *finally* staked, and now after staked claim is matured it says 29 minutes to stake, but it's been that way for over a day now?? So the lottery incentive is kinda lost for me.. Sad
