Right now I have about 25 different addresses, a weight of 370 and maybe staking 1 a day.

Yet, oh how one would kill to have a calculator hashing BTC from the beginning.....

Have faith; join #clams on Irc; help out where you can... If we have our way, there are great things in store for the future of CLAMS Smiley

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Lots of staking, no lottery blocks...  YET!!

I went for days with no decent lotto wins at all, then hit two out of three blocks!

Lots of staking, no lottery blocks...  YET!!

wow very nice...
kinda envy, when I see people (yeah you dooglus Grin) get around 5/hour
while I'm only able to get 1/day or 1 every other day Cry
oh... and I thought I would never get orphaned block on clam, turned out wrong couple hours ago
it was my 1st orphaned block since I started about a month ago

edit: btw, if I use vanitygen to create an address, what is the number I need to use following the -X ?
If I'm not mistaken the priv key should started with a 5 or L, right?
so I tried 136, 137, 138, 139 for X but none returned priv key started with 5 or L
can anyone tell me the right way to generate vanity address for clam?

You're right. The numbers are as follows:

BTC 0
DOGE 30
LTC 48
CLAM 137

but vanitygen thinks that the private key versions should be 128 bigger than the public key versions, which isn't the case for CLAMs.

If you're building your own vanitygen from source, it's an easy fix:

Code:
$ git diff
diff --git a/vanitygen.c b/vanitygen.c
index 9d88121..396b770 100644
--- a/vanitygen.c
+++ b/vanitygen.c
@@ -396,7 +396,7 @@ main(int argc, char **argv)
  break;
  case 'X':
  addrtype = atoi(optarg);
- privtype = 128 + addrtype;
+ // privtype = 128 + addrtype;
  scriptaddrtype = addrtype;
  break;
  case 'F':

Then rebuild ('make') and it works:

Code:
$ ./vanitygen -X 137 xDooG
Difficulty: 4553521
Pattern: xDooG
Address: xDooGuSKzocJbCKCBvw9LcFz5WVaaeaa7f

Hi guys
I notice a new a new release on OP version V1.4.2.2. is this a mandatory update? I'm running V1.4.2.1.

Hi Jon Smiley

The last mandatory release was the Lottery update; though a considerable number of fork-inherited legacy bugs have been fixed in the latest version (and we have yet to have a single report of problems with the build).

Also whats planned going on in the background? The forum seems very quite so any info would be great, Thanks in advance

Our apologies, we aren't much for 'message' or marketing Tongue

First:
We have almost a dozen people working on about a dozen different aspects of the project.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in any way they are willing.  We have need for literally just about any skill-set at this point: so if you have a bit of free-time you are invited to join #clams on freenode Irc and help out.  We would love to have you Smiley

A few highlights:
The upcoming client release will include a complete make-over.  This includes both functional and aesthetic improvements.  One of the most exciting functional improvements has to do with the addition of lottery specific functionality to the RPC interface and GUI.  If all goes well, this should include lottery specific data such as Top and Recent lottery results as well as exposing functional settings such as the split/combine thresholds.  Our view is that the more information and control our users have, the healthier the CLAM network will be.

Another interesting and possibly fundamental change to CLAMS involves privacy and anonymity.  There are at least two efforts currently underway to improve this aspect of the CLAM network; though we would prefer to remain a bit tight-lipped at the moment as to the specifics.  Ultimately, simplicity and security is the primary concern before implementing any core protocol changes, and we would like to avoid hastily implementing an experimental anonymity "improvement" without proper testing.  A fact that may well set us apart from some of the other teams that have recently attempted such an improvement.

Work on getting a custom block explorer up, possibly ported over from `insight`, such that it FULLY supports Proof-Of-Stake/Pearl/Lottery is also underway.  We don't want to rush this one as ultimately we would like it to provide the back-end and infrastructure for a web-wallet/network API system and countless other web-based projects.  It needs to work, and it needs to work flawlessly, before it can be relied upon for these types of sensitive ventures.

A working OSX build has been a thorn in our side for some time.  Due to the sensitive nature of 'claiming' CLAMS and the CLAMClient, we refuse to allow a third-party to compile the official build.  We have a working compile on hand that testing has shown to work for the majority of newer versions but were holding out on release, hoping to get it perfect.  At this point, we may be simply aiming for a level of perfection that is unattainable; you may well see the current compile released in the coming days.  We have a distinct shortage of test users to test the builds on various versions of the operating system, and would encourage users to join us on IRC to help test.

Work has also continued on a new homepage for CLAMS; the idea being that we need a fast and professional/presentable 'face' for CLAMS.  Currently, this work is based in 'ghost', a node.js blog/CMS platform.  This is another area where just about anyone could contribute.  We need people who have a bit of knowledge concerning crypto-currency to contribute and write content to assist new users and generally describe and explain the CLAM network, client and features.

Although there are quite a few other projects in various states of completion, the last I would to talk about at this time is the CLAM Desktop Suite.  Considerably progress has been completed on a suite of applications designed to integrate with the CLAM Client.  The first of these to be released will likely be a peer to peer CLAM Chat Application.  The concept being that users are able to broadcast streaming video peer to peer and enter private sessions.  Accepting and attributing tips in CLAMS will be automated and integrated into the Application.  Much more complicated, the second CLAM Desktop Suite Application released will likely be the CLAM Trader.  The CLAM Trader will eventually include multiple exchanges/markets in one interface, basic trading, automated trading triggers and strategies, and data mining.  The concept being that the application releases with full support for various features in the CLAMS markets, to allow testing and encourage activity and liquidity in the CLAMS market, and basic support for other markets.  To unlock some of the more advanced features for non-CLAMS markets, some form of requirement associated with CLAMS (such as a CLAM balance requirement or net-positive B/S ratio) will be required.  If anyone has any additional ideas for Desktop Applications that lend themselves to integration with crypto-currency - Please share.

I know I didn't list every project, and likely missed a large one somewhere along the line; to whichever member is working on it: sorry Tongue

To the rest,
Thank you.

Hope that is helpful on getting a 'feel' for some of the ways in which we are working on CLAMS; and plan to continue to do so into the future Grin

I appreciate such a quick and through reply. Sounds like you guys are quietly working away, awesome. I have recently joined the pool but it looks like I'm the only one. I don't have much in the way of usable skills to offer

although I have given some Clams to my stepson to give him an interest in crypto he's 22 studying gaming programing and not into crypto....go figure. Anyway I will continue to mine and keep an eye on this thread and upgrade to V1.4.2.2

Awesome Smiley

I will be honest concerning the pool: at the current hash rate we will find nearly no blocks.  You are essentially solo-mining.

Your time would almost certainly be better spent mining at a different pool and purchasing CLAMS with your proceeds.
Sad, but true.
I have sent you a few CLAMS for your trouble.

That said, there has been some talk about changing the function of the kHashier pool such that users put in their CLAMS address and are given a BTC address to which they can mine (or send funds) at any pool that pays out in BTC.

Just an idea, but it is something we are considering seriously.

Feel your pain, really do.  There is a bit of coinage sitting on exchange, but by time you figure exchange fees and what-not withdrawing it would mean a massive percentage in fees  Angry

So sitting it remains, for now.

What about a sha-256 pool, I have an old blockerupter and maybe some others do too.

At this point, I am starting to feel that the $$$ we are spending on the powerful server to run the pool would be better spent elsewhere, not to mention the time committed to development.

Even simply taking that money and buying CLAMS, to give out for bounties seems like it would be more beneficial than propping up the pool Sad  Not an opinion set in stone, just a pattern that has been noticed Sad

I thought attempting to create a place to mine where the attention and objective wasn't for short-term gain, but long-term investment was a good idea Tongue
