PoS + exchanges who keep the customer's PoS rewards = crypto central banks Shocked
It is very ecouraging to see how most of us are content to simply hold onto our CLAMs, and should serve as a good indicator of how evenly distributed the air drop really was.
Sell Orders Total: 940.57584004 CLAM
This is very true!
We have been amazed by the "strength" of many of the hands who are holding CLAMS.
That is not the 'norm' by any means in crypto these days.
You don't have to tell me. heh.. eg. My trust rating serves more as a shitcoin war log. Tongue

Somebody just swept the Order Book all the way up to 0.00395...
It's the only way to buy any volume... just take a look at the Depth Chart.
So few people are selling Clams that they are very hard to accumulate.
I've had a buy order at 0.001 for about a week now, but it hasn't been hit at all. The price was just a fraction over 0.001 when I placed it, and now it's around 0.003.
I'm not very experienced with exchange markets. Could my large buy order (I have a series of smaller buy 'steps' now) be driving the upward price movement even though I'm not actually buying anything?

I know I personally have been a bit stumped when it comes to the CLAM market at Poloniex.

When we designed CLAMS, we had some expectation that Users(Demand) would correlate with TotalMoneySupply(Supply).
However, we also have some business background on the team, and are intelligent enough to understand that a market finds it's own balance and equilibrium.

At the moment, it appears that there just aren't enough CLAMS to go around.  That is one of the reasons we see such low volume and also a reluctance for the price to return to previous values after a pump or large purchase.

dooglus' buy orders are certainly not hurting - and a buy order CAN give confidence to a market without actually purchasing any of the coin.

We think it quite valuable, simply by virtue of how widely we spread the CLAMS.
A wide distribution means security, awareness, and hopefully a measure of fairness.

But, we can't give anyone market or investment advice as we aren't qualified to do so; and that wouldn't be appropriate.

Where does it go from here?
Who knows, but it certainly seems it will be interesting regardless Grin

I'm just noticing CLAMS on Coinmarketcap.com for the first time. Go to: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/all/
Then reorganize the columns alphabetically according to currency name. CLAMS is there! It appears to be a brand new addition as there is not yet any historical data.
Yeah!

In my experience with coinmarketcap.com, coins listed at the bottom with "?" fields usually resolve into the proper list after a short period of time after listing.
Very interested to see how they handle our distribution.

It would be our argument that since all of the coins exist on the chain, in contrast to a "giveaway/air-drop" coin like AuroraCoin, that they should be counted as part of the total money supply.
After all, the coins could be claimed without any way to know they have been until they are sent or staked.

Anybody else had problems syncing? my wallet is stuck 1600 blocks behing even after i uninstalled and reinstalled it doesn't sync. Someone can help me out on this one?  Grin
current block is 35643
1600 blocks behind ~34000
there was mandatory wallet update for block 34000
i think you need to update wallet
I updated to 1.42 but stuck on 34000, any ideas?

You need to re-sync the block chain and it will resolve itself.

Please delete everything EXCEPT the wallet.dat file in your data directory.
On Windows, the data directory normally resides here: Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/clam

If you can't see the AppData directory, click the start button, type "hidden", select "Show hidden files and folders", select the radio button "show hidden files, folders, and drives", click "apply", then close the window.

Hope that has been helpful Smiley  If you are still having problems please come to the irc channel here:

The poloniex CLAM market has been fantastically profitable if you were trading from the beginning.

I have over twice as many clams as I started with, and a not insignificant amount of BTC too. =)
Impressively, someone beat me by about 5 minutes filling the sell-side orders last night.  Was planning on buying exactly the same CLAMs someone else filled, but the BTC confirmation came a bit too slowly =/.

SuperClam:  I have been working on a small utility that takes multiple wallet.dat files, strips the transaction data, and merges them into a single CLAM wallet.dat .  I'm wary of publishing something like this tho, because it ofc deals with private keys.  Would you be interested in integrating such functionality into the QT wallet?

Any progress on X11 for the multi-pool?

Absolutely, and it is already being worked on a bit.

is Clam on the vote list in Mintpal?

No; but not for lack of us trying.

They refused to even list us for voting: claiming "lack of innovation".

Moments later they listed _______ 100% clone coin.

We requested reconsideration, and they responded that their decision stands.

The moral of the story?
It appears that they are either incapable or unwilling to distribute their CLAMS to their users; or have already dumped them at market and would rather avoid the issue entirely.

I could be wrong, but that is the impression that I got in communicating with them.

Dev, how about a sidechain?
It's name could be Pearls and they could be claimed with high reward stakes of Clams.

MintPal should be a last resort exchange at this point, after what happened with VRC.  I wouldn't touch them with a 10ft pole now.

Consider: someone apparently had database access at MintPal sufficient to inject withdrawals, yet MintPal claims no data was accessed? Ya right... shit exchange lieing thru their teeth.

A very valid argument.
Our application with MintPal was submitted about a month ago now.
We haven't talked with them since then.

Quick question:

I bought 1.5 CLAM from Polo and transferred it to my wallet... it is not staking either...

Do transferred coins have to go 510 confirmations to be considered 'mature' as well? ( for staking purposes )

Some investigation is needed into exactly how mature coins need to be to stake.  4hr as listed in the OP doesn't appear to be correct.

Yes, it'll be 510 confirmations until the arrow turns green and then a "while" yet before you get a reward. I don't pretend to understand the relationship between "difficulty", "weight" and "netstakeweight" though; nor how the number and "maturity" of coins affects it!

As a datapoint I transferred approx. 10 coins on 17/07/2014 00:36 and got 0.1CLAM mining reward on 18/07/2014 16:58.

Basically we set up a 'public' staking wallet ( controlled by a trusted member ) Everyone who wants to participate sends like 2 Clams to it.

Say 40 people send 2 clams each... that's 80 clams staking.... you must stake for x-amount of time then you can withdraw your 2 clams + 1/40th of the profit. Or roll it over... then start the next enrollment period...

Perhaps we have open enrollment on the last day of the month, then end at the last day of the next month....

What you all think?
