Aeon is a very good coin to invest in my opinion.  However it urgently needs a wallet gui and/or a mobile wallet to have a massive adoption. I can see there is some activity towards that. So, a nice "wrap" and could be a top 30 coin at once!

Without me having knowledge about programming, is it so difficult to make a mobile wallet like Monero's Monerujo, working with remote nodes; Or even help Monerujo adopt Aeon. Code should be very similar i suppose.

Seems like AEON is getting some love finally. Have there been any fundamental news for the latest price spike or is just normal speculation / proper valuation?

Don't trust any exchange!

No news as far as i know. Probably some whales doing speculations. The cryptomarket is going nuts at the moment...

I added Aeon to the Cheddur app (https://www.cheddur.com/) by request! This will allow new users to learn about Aeon and join the community. Cheddur allows you to link wallets, exchanges, and other services that support Aeon so that new users can easily get started. You can also review the project and post your AEON addresses on your profile to receive tips / payments / donations in AEON from other users Smiley

Can others from the community please review the profile for quality and help me add supported services? The more active the Aeon profile is (via user reviews and addresses), the higher it ranks in search results and the more likely newcomers are to discover the Aeon project!

Not to worry Smooth is on the job. Aeon rebase will happen in 2018 sometime. From what I understand this will move the DB out of RAM and onto HDD (leveldb). Then it will be more like Monero than any other cryptonote coin. I'm sure once that happens we will see a mobile wallet come out.

People who are accumulating this coin will make bank in a year or two.

Discovered AEON only a couple of days ago when I was doing some research work about new coins to mine. Wallet get synchronized extremely fast, love it! Ran a full cycle: mining, collecting mined coins into wallet, transfer to exchange - all good. But, can we have a graphical wallet?
Listing on bittrex is a huge plus.

Anyone aware of what happens if you try too many transfers in quick succession? I did two transfers last night, the second one being before my unlocked balance matched the balance.

Transactions in the second transfer do not appear in the AEON blockchain at all, yet my wallet balance is terribly low, so the wallet thinks those coins were spent.

Will the transfer time out eventually, and coins appear back in my wallet?

Think it can take up to 24hr for it to return to your wallet

I've really tried to find this on my own but failed, TIA for any help.

This was my first ever try to update the AEON wallet, assumed going from 0.9.12.0 to 0.9.14.0 would be fine, downloaded and installed.  Entered the same wallet name, and the original password, but as I quickly noticed this had just generated a completely new wallet.  So now I have two working wallets, the first has my coins and the new version has none.

To just update the existing wallet to the latest version, I'm thinking I was supposed to copy a file from the old folder to the new one before starting it up?  The keys file? Thanks!

<3 In my experience, Aeon is like a Monero that is fast/light enough to be actually usable. (I have both running on the same machine with the same compiler settings.) I have a hard time understanding the success of Monero with so much better variants out there, but I guess it's just for being there first.

Boolberry is another interesting variant, with more advanced tech in some ways, e.g. having a GUI very early on, but less lucky with its developers and exchanges. I'm still rooting for BBR, but of these three, Aeon looks like the most likely to be of practical use in the future.

Assuming you're using Windows, make sure that simplewallet.exe and the wallet files (with .keys file extension) are in the same directory. Then type:

Code:
simplewallet.exe --wallet-file <your_wallet_file>.keys

Thanks for your reply! Yes I do have windows, but sorry, need to clarify.  I'd have to get rid of the second wallet and start over again, right?  And the typing occurs in the aeond window?  Again, sorry, this command line interface is quite new to me, plus having the two separate windows (my other coins have noob friendly gui wallets).  Thanks.

Usually it's unnecessary to delete the wallet file created by the older version of the software (unless the file format becomes incompatible); the new software should be able to open the same file. But it's advisable to make a copy of the old wallet file just in case.

And this is all separate from aeond.exe. You need to run aeond.exe and simplewallet.exe at the same time.

Again, sorry, this command line interface is quite new to me, plus having the two separate windows (my other coins have noob friendly gui wallets).  Thanks.

The ease of use will improve eventually. At the moment you need to make some efforts to get around. But in exchange you get something immeasurably precious called privacy.

The reason payouts find yourself in trouble happens because the dev of the coin hasn't released any updated to repair the wallet "caught" problem like cash such at BCN and MRO he done.Around the swimming pools, when the daemon car saves, the pocket book times out and then will get Inchstuck," causing payouts to get caught before the pocket book is resynced. This can be a recognized problem, and was a known problem with other coins too, and the dev's for all those other cash have fixed this issue.I've informed the dev for Aeon of the issue along with the fix, publicly on this thread, but I have yet to see an update to fix it.  Hopefully there is was soon.  For now, like I stated several articles up, I simply got back to my computer and I will undergo and connect all impending repayments soon, should go out within the next hr.av

I just found out about AEON and was happy to have found it and wanted to invest, but there is a problem with the wallet that is not fixed yet am I understanding correctly? I dont understand all the tech talk, so please elaborate to me in plain words: when I buy AEON now, will I be able to transfer them from the exchange to a safe wallet and hold them there and eventually send them out again? Hope I get an answer!

Thanks for the quick reply! Great to hear this, I will buy me some AEON! This coin is amazing on the first look. Is there constant developing happening? Milestones from the roadmap achieved? Can you also tell me the initial price of AEON? Im sorry for the noob questions, I just found out about AEON now and want to gather some info.
