Nem appears to be abandoned by the dev. This was a launch and dump by the looks of it.
This sums up BTT in a nutshell for me. It's almost funny. NEM has proven to be the most promising crypto release in the last year and yet it still gets fud -- there's a good reason why BTT activity is limited and this is it. New algorithm, blockchain Multisig, encrypted messaging, mobile wallet, thorough IPO distribution...yeah, i'm sure it's worth dumping. I totally get that this forum has issues and seems to produce new trolls every day. I've complained about it myself. Having said that, I still do check this thread for updates. I'm involved in a number of alt coins, each of which has its own forum. I honestly cannot keep up with ten or fifteen different forums, not to mention chat groups, Slack groups, Supernet groups and more. For all its problems, BTT is a good hub for all the topics of interest. The "Show new replies to your posts" link at the top is a great tool which I use heavily. I understand that NEM devs have far better things to do than plow through a bunch of FUD posts to answer someone's question. If I have a burning question I will go to the NEM forum or the Telegram chat to get it answered if I don't get an answer here as quickly as I'd like. So no, I understand if my questions don't get answered here. However, can the devs please keep posting updates here, even if they are links to more detailed updates elsewhere? That way I can keep up even if this is the only place I have time to look for a while. Just post the updates--don't even worry about commenting further about them if you don't want to. And don't be afraid to use the IGNORE button. It's another great tool this forum provides.

Patmast3r, I've tried to contact you and Makoto via PM for the last 2 (edited) 3 months... regarding my account marked as sockpuppet. Honestly, in the meantime I really lost any interest in the project, since i've seen that nobody really care about issues like the one I have. Now, after a long while, I'm back to the forum (curiosity), and I see one of your post as last post. Then I thought "why not?" I'm back here just to see if it's possible to know WHY you guys acted in this way ? I've been polite in any of my messages. And you can see I didn't inundate you with PMs... well, Not even a reply. Nothing. This is the last reply from Makoto:

Pat and I will look at your data and get back to you.
More then 2 MONTHS AGO !!! At this point, i think at least an explanation is what i deserve, since i spent my time to get people involved in this project, and as "thank you", I found my account and my friend's accounts marked as Sockspuppet. Lets see if this time someone will spend 5 sec of his life to reply. Thanks (in case this time someone will be so kind to reply)

All I can tell you is that I have nothing todo with that anymore and makoto seems to have a massive backlog. I'm sorry but I can't tell you anything except to wait (I know). You can hate me for it but there's literally nothing i can do to help you.

Is there a more appropriate place where i can write or get more information regarding that? What do you mean you are not involved in that anymore ? Well, looks like I've been already patient for a long while.

I guess telegram or slack. That's where you could reach makoto for sure. Link to slack is a couple of posts above yours.

I appreciate your replies. Really. Don't get me wrong. But i don't think this is a professional and honest way to handle issue like this. I had big expectations. Now not anymore. I think I'll give up. At least now I have a title for my next blog's post. Thank you.

I totally and wholeheartedly agree with you. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it. No need to give up though. At some point makoto will get around to answer your pm.

about reward program : https://forum.ournem.com/general-discussion/nem-node-reward-discussion/msg17568/#msg17568"what the guy above said makes a lot of sense. Put all the people running nice performing nodes since the beginning out of free good will in the program. For the rest and newcomers, anything above the size of an original stake makes no sense (2.25M), just put 2M cause round number is better and be done with it. Time to move on, this thing is taking too much time "

you guys should be more active plotting quietly in the shadow of slack/telegram or whatever won't attract more people like it or not, btt is still the best showcase Ninja launch of features is fun but minimal support/activity on both this thread and official forum would be cool too.

Any decision ("should Makoto eat pancakes for breakfast?") will always produce dissent when there are thousands of initial stakeholders and then subsequent adopters. No matter what is done, there will always be the one or five people who are absolutely opposed to an initiative and they will shout the loudest and over the rest.
There is nothing stopping JadedJack from running 20 NODEs out of the goodness out of his heart. The dissent here is over the payout and the requirement to own 3 million XEM to be eligible.
Not sure what you can really do at this stage. It seemed like an good idea in the beginning, to stack multiple cheap VPNs, but it looks like the consensus is they don't want people to game the rewards through cheap servers in Brazil / Germany (technically you still can but instead of $5/M per VPN it's $5/M + 3 million XEM per VPN).

WTF are you taking about? you dont make any sense
So how much was the NXT reward for running a node then? They had some incentive program running. I think emonyru was managing it. So what? I am talking about supposed security issues in nem. They are claiming too many nodes by one individual is a problem. If it is, determine why, and fix it. It has not been an issue with nxt. Satoshi warned us about these trusted 3rd party schemes like masternodes Obviously it would be an issue for both NEM and NXT having large part of the network in the hands of an individual. NEM is more immune to this issue because of eigentrust++ NXT node reward program is run by few people. It has no dev or community fund support. Has a very naive node counting software and can be considered just a compensation for people running nodes. NEM node reward program aims to be much more than that. That's why it takes care of other aspects like bandwidth and distinct node keys.

Lead developer Jaguar0625 has not made a post since October 2014.
He gave up on btt because there were too many people spreading FUD. Now who could he be referring to? At least, the core devs should provide some kind of project dev-maps to the community. It is not good to keep mute . Projects always need leaders to focus the confidence of the community. BTT just isn't considered as part of the community I think. Can you blame them ? This toxic pit full of scum and 12 yr old fudsters isn't a platform for a healthy project. Just curious, was btt a toxic pit when Nem came here looking for people to participate in it's movement? Yes, it was but that was what was needed at the time. You can go to any worthy project in btt and you will always see somebody crapping around TaunSew style. I think it's very important to move away from here so we do not have to read all this crap. Others like Ethereum, Supernet, ... have done that and you hardly see any dev post in btt. Agreed, And NXT has done the same, most of their duscussion is on nxtforum.com...
