How is my new baby? Nice!!! I like it! What are the difference when the upper fans turned on or off in temperature? I was wondering to do that but not sure of the results, as every fan I put in my gear no matter where, it only make it worse.

What on earth is that MASSIVE silver thing in there?! Thats a lapped Zalman cnps 12x. It was crafted from a Diablo II berzerker axe that will smite ALL who dare impose their hot toxic computer fumes on others ! I'll never go w/c because its too risky. When the room is 20c or less.. I'm getting close to w/c temps anyways.. so meh.. 3 gpus @1200mhz or better.. 1482 mhash/s .. The 7870's TF III thinks its a triple slot HSF. heh.. I'd like to dedicate this one to Crazyates. So a some hot air is probably pushed towards the back. But if you look at my screenshot of a couple GPUs doing 59C and 66C, I believe it'll be fine. I think the other GPUs with higher temps need a TIM replacement. From reading the newegg.com feedbacks, the Twin Frozr 3 have bad TIM from the manufacturer. Once I get around to getting it replaced, I'm sure I could lower the temps quite a bit.
where do you get TIM replacements from? which ones should I buy? I have 1 7950 that no matter what I do is always 6 -7 degrees over the other ones, probably that is the case too (sapphire 7950 oc boost) also have another sapphire 7850 with heat problems but it's because one of the fans are acting up

Install the heatsink then remove and check see what pattern the TIM leaves behind. Also check the thermal pads on the memory and vrm chips and make sure they line up and are not sqeezed on too tight. eg.. one of my R7870s and mobo both needed some work that way..

Depends on your place or room. When we close the entrance door, we have to have such fans for the flow.

One of my new rigs - 3x5830 + 3x5850 = 2.2GH/sAnd no the Mobile Phone isn't a detonator I'm using it to restart the PC if it crashes. I love your setup! Really old school, and highest ghetto credibility so far!

Heya cryptokeeper,
I think you might have misunderstood my question, or I worded it poorly. One of your cables from the PSU to the video card is different from the other (I believe the PSU only comes with 5 PCI-E cables as opposed to six. Did you make the 6th one, or does somebody sell one?
Thanks!

Ah gotcha, I had to borrow another PCI-E connector from another power supply. The LEPA 1600W only came with five. Good eye on catching that. I guess they anticipated people to use the adapter that came with the video card. Heya cryptokeeper,

Finally!! Finally someone used the brains to have the rig pointing upwards, easing the heated air flow!!!
Well done, sir!
Go back to page 43 of this thread. It's been done many times already. Quite right, my mistake!

Ok, time for a bit of showing off my rig: 5x Sapphire Radeon 7970 3750kHash/sec Litecoin and blowing the heat right out of the window! Is that window always open? What if it starts to rain?

Ok, time for a bit of showing off my rig: 5x Sapphire Radeon 7970 3750kHash/sec Litecoin and blowing the heat right out of the window! A thing of beauty! I've seen a few pics today where it looks like there are fans blowing into the exhasts of the GPUs? OR are they pulling the hot air?

Most GPUs blow very little out the exhaust holes in the backplate. Maybe the ones with the old hairdrier coolers on them, but not the type with the 2/3 open fans. They dump their heat to the case, so adding a fan is ideal.

I agree with what you're saying. However since they do blow some heat out of those exhaust holes, blowing air into them would seem to be counter-productive.

With a big-ass fan like that, the added benefit greatly outweighs the tiny bit of cooling lost by blowing air up the card's exhaust.

that fan setup works with those type cards because there is no single exhaust point/hole in non-ref gpus http://cdn.overclock.net/e/eb/eb8c454a_nontraidtional.jpeg

Yeah, I concede that. The more I consider it, the more I realize you wouldn't be able to channel the air through the cards effectively, since it could draw from anywhere.
