They sell the 11W/mK and the 17W/mK pads. I use the 11s cuz they're cheap, but if you need the absolute best, go with the 17s. There is literally nothing better for sale, anywhere.

What thickness would you recommend? *looks at pants* Well that's sort of personal question... It depends on the thickness of the original pad, but you want to go as thin as you can. I used 1mm for the RAM chips, and 0.5 for the VRMs.

Thank you I have a thermal paste similar to that one (same brand) that works pretty good. I didn't know that I should change the thermal pads from the memory also. one question, these pads are good for VRM's as well? thanks for the info!!

Change the paste. Install the heatsink then remove and check see what pattern the TIM leaves behind.
thanks for the info! What should I be looking at?, in the pattern I mean, other than the paste is well spread?

Watch this video and see how to thermal paste spreads. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyXLu1Ms-q4Then you'll get an idea of how to apply new thermal paste. Change the paste. Install the heatsink then remove and check see what pattern the TIM leaves behind.

Ok, time for a bit of showing off my rig: 5x Sapphire Radeon 7970 3750kHash/sec Litecoin and blowing the heat right out of the window! Is that window always open? What if it starts to rain? The roof over the window shields it from rain, as it covers at least half a metre distance from the wall. Plus, there is a bug net covering the opening, but it is not really visible in this image.

Sweet rig. Where did you get the aluminum extrusions? Is it 80/20? Ok, time for a bit of showing off my rig: 5x Sapphire Radeon 7970 3750kHash/sec Litecoin and blowing the heat right out of the window! Maybe instead of blowing out of the window, you could turn down that heater hidden behind the desk and reverse the rig to blow inside ?

Did you have to undervolt the GPUs to get it to work with the 1500W PSU?

Did you have to undervolt the GPUs to get it to work with the 1500W PSU? No undervolting done yet. Maybe some possible for energy saving, but not necessary. I like the stable settings for now. Current specs for litecoin: mem clock 1500 engine clock 1080 voltage 1.175 V (stock) power consumption 1400W (measured at the wall socket)

I would like to build one of these enclosures, either with the metal frame or wood. The metal frame ones look custom, where do you get the materials? Some of the wood ones look to be pre-built units that have been re-purposed. Any idea where those are from? Perhaps when people post pics they can add that info.
Thanks
