I never understood why NXT went with 64 bit addresses. They're still long enough that you have to copy and paste them, but they're significantly less secure than bitcoin's 160 bit addresses. This is an unfortunately part of NXT that Burst has inherited.
If it were up to me, I would transition Burst addresses to standard 160 bit scheme used by most other crypto-currencies. I'd also change the account system to discourage address re-use rather than encouraging it. This is better for user privacy, and more resilient against the advent of quantum computers.
I would use a longer wallet address, agreed. But I love Nxt's RS wallet address. It's a great idea to somewhat protect users against copy and paste mistakes and that kind of thing. Which their wallet address does. Bitcoin-style addresses are also hardened against copy/paste errors. The last 4 characters are a checksum, so any missing or mis-typed characters will be detected. They don't do error-correction, like NXT-style Reed-Soloman addresses do, but that's completely unnecessary in my opinion - error detection is sufficient.

I suggest using checksums of reference plot-files to verify results of different plot-making software and drivers (OpenCL versions). Some conditions: - different AccountIDs (and it`s sizes); - different startNonces; - different fileSizes; - with/without staggering. Sample-files MD5 checksums (download files here: https://yadi.sk/d/Qt4I7lRldTfHP): 8013d20e24e577bdd1f675de9ed832bd 1234567890_ 0_ 1024_ 10241a7b3998b0a5d5e836a727c931330c34 9876543210_ 1024_ 4096_ 1024443aa638290a85485ebef7db9af8aa4e 12345678901234567890_ 1048576_ 65536_ 1024005ba57308ddaace41fadc529962f4ba 987654321987654321_ 1073741824_ 65536_ 65536Somebody please check that data.

Big Update!I'm really glad to announce that the first Burst payout has been made. This means that BLTPS Project is officially in its Phase 3. The price was fixed to be ~8% of the initial investment, specifically a total of 251'000 Bursts (500 per BLTPS share) have been payed to investors. This percentage will be increased to ~20% starting from the next payout which is scheduled for the 07/jan/2015. All the details, with transaction IDs and payed shares, can be found in the official thread on BurstForum. Investors may want to have a look at their wallets If you want to start investing or buy some more shares, the price won't change 'till the end of Phase 3. Thank you to all Phase 1 and Phase 2 investors who made this possible. Update v1.3 - First Payout and Phase 3Burst Long Term Price Support project(BLTPS) Changelog - v1.3 - 18/dec/2014Phase 3 has officially started Added "BLTPS Payout Report" section with all the details about the payouts made to investors Added a "Next Scheduled Payout" to the status report Updated both F.A.Q. and Project Details sections to properly explain Phase 3 The first BLTPS Project payout has been made BLTPS Project StatusShare value: 0.01 BTC - Sold Shares: 502 - Next goal: 800 502 405 250Booked Shares (waiting for payment): 0 Hashrate supporting Burst: 800 MH/s (LTC) Next scheduled payout: 07/jan/2015

My friend, We disagree here He has been asked very simple questions each of the eight times he posted it here, and not once has he answered them. He provides a damn virustotal link and think that's fine in crypto. That's just not good enough. As I said, this might be a great program, but why can he not just answer the really easy questions, I keep asking myself. Thanks for taking the risk and running it though

Thanks for taking the risk and running it though Yea, all good man, I'll let you know if my 2 million burst disappear. haha. But no, in actuality, the main reason I tried this is because I trust Pilotseye, he's a friend of mine. I don't think he would give out a link, albeit multiple times, if the link was a virus. I just don't see him doing that. Plus, I got tired of everyone blasting him when I believe he was literally just trying to help people with performance issues. So, I hope that me, being the member I am, jumping on this, using it, and telling people what I find, would help to alleviate this problem we seem to be having. Thanks!

i have a question for all tech gurus out there. can anyone explain how the "generationSignature" the java miner shows for a block is calculated?
{"requestProcessingTime":1,"baseTarget":"1539509","height":"46225","generationSignature":"28dc74770c5735501c44b747d782f30f4b77e962a068b67b4f834544a258274a"}
i tried to read the java source but the part creating the signature creates several objects i have'nt checked in detail yet. the graph on the first page explaining the mining says the the NewGenSig + blockheight is used to calculate the deadline. is the generation signature a shabal256 of my numeric accountid as 32 byte + the blockheight as 8 byte?

I suggest using checksums of reference plot-files to verify results of different plot-making software and drivers (OpenCL versions). Some conditions: - different AccountIDs (and it`s sizes); - different startNonces; - different fileSizes; - with/without staggering. Sample-files MD5 checksums (download files here: https://yadi.sk/d/Qt4I7lRldTfHP): 8013d20e24e577bdd1f675de9ed832bd 1234567890_ 0_ 1024_ 10241a7b3998b0a5d5e836a727c931330c34 9876543210_ 1024_ 4096_ 1024443aa638290a85485ebef7db9af8aa4e 12345678901234567890_ 1048576_ 65536_ 1024005ba57308ddaace41fadc529962f4ba 987654321987654321_ 1073741824_ 65536_ 65536Somebody please check that data. I'm sorry if I offended you. However, it's you that have promoted this program and repeated to refuse to answer simple questions about the statements you made in the posts. We still do not know who the member s are you are referring to. I don't even think you are doing some maliciously by intention; often bad code spread just because people aren't critical enough. That's why you have gotten the responses you have here. I don't know what's in the program, I don't know what it does (despite mining); and that is really bad. If you can't answer questions, I think you should be very careful recommending stuff to others. So even if you only have good intentions, and even if I trust crowetic more than I trust almost all in own family, I'd never run the program. I hope I've explained myself better now, and I'm sorry I got angry when I didn't get any answers.

I suggest using checksums of reference plot-files to verify results of different plot-making software and drivers (OpenCL versions). Some conditions: - different AccountIDs (and it`s sizes); - different startNonces; - different fileSizes; - with/without staggering. Sample-files MD5 checksums (download files here: https://yadi.sk/d/Qt4I7lRldTfHP): 8013d20e24e577bdd1f675de9ed832bd 1234567890_ 0_ 1024_ 10241a7b3998b0a5d5e836a727c931330c34 9876543210_ 1024_ 4096_ 1024443aa638290a85485ebef7db9af8aa4e 12345678901234567890_ 1048576_ 65536_ 1024005ba57308ddaace41fadc529962f4ba 987654321987654321_ 1073741824_ 65536_ 65536Somebody please check that data. Good job! oh, vsje! are you saying to plot the same file using different plotters and then compare the md5 of the file to see if plotters produce identical content of the plot files? of course what else?
