Stay foolish and stay strong Monero HODLers. The words of the critics will fade, but Monero will not. It takes a lot of courage to be wrong, and not be on the Bitcoin train or supporting the biggest altcoin, Ethereum. But we know what we have. We know that Monero, unlike most of the others, may actually be able to make a difference. It is one of the most important projects in human history: https://youtu.be/Wb9gmN_znyg

You certainly can, but the act of partitioning your time, assets, or resources in any way towards Monero weakens your commitment to the others. So your sacrifices towards a superior technology are still just as valid as someone who goes 'all-in'.

Thank you for the mention. My two week estimate was my best guess for completion following funding as of the time I made the post. It may end up taking slightly more time depending on my schedule as of the time it gets funded. I am always working on more than one Monero related project at a time some being more time sensitive than others. My goal is to get as much of the community involved as possible. Personally I am happier to see donations of time more than monetary contributions. There are many ways to help Monero without providing monetary support. Please obtain a 200+ reputation rating on a non area 51 stack exchange site and commit to the Monero SE proposal as well as the I2P proposal that I expect will be coming soon. Be prepared for multiple reminders on this topic until our goal is reached. We need lots of community support in order to accomplish our Stack Exchange goal. Details can be found on https://forum.getmonero.org

I speculate that in less than 2 years other cryptocurrencies (including bitcoin) will be implementing LMDB and using Monero's implementation as a launching point. I wonder how portable it is.
where's that prediction market when u need it. or I could just put it into a block.

I speculate that in less than 2 years other cryptocurrencies (including bitcoin) will be implementing LMDB Possibly. and using Monero's implementation as a launching point. Unlikely as the structure of the code base is quite different. Monero's implementation could be a source of sample code for people wanting to use LMDB for all sorts of things though. I wonder how portable it is. It seems quite portable when moving one application across platforms but different applications using the same database are still different.

This is major news. Especially if things go well with Bitsquare and monero can attract the kind of liquidity it has on centralized exchanges (mostly one though). Can this exchange be used in an anonymous way?

Can this exchange be used in an anonymous way? From bitsquare.io: But no worry the Bitsquare user don’t need to do anything. It is all integrated into the application and no special setup is required. There are also no performance drawbacks with the small amount of data sent by Bitsquare. Using Tor not only solved the network connectivity issues but also adds the high level of anonymity Tor provides to Bitsquare. In fact we use Tors Hidden Services for every node to make the P2P communication completely anonymous (as far Tor provides that).

Awesome. Can't wait for ETH support to bring in the drooling masses! I wonder if Poloniex will get around to adding an ETH/XMR pair before Bitsquare makes them obsolete...

Has anyone tried the site (Monero or other coins)? It sounds like a great concept, but I haven't seen any user reviews. I've successfully completed one trade on bitsquare. This is fantastic news and I hope everybody support bitsquare by adding liquidity to the market. I certainly will. Hueristic, When Bitsquare grows to include lending/margin markets and Tether, why would anyone want to put up with Polo's counterparty risk, trading fees, KYC/AMA, and PG rated troll box?
