Did anyone manage to get a working vanityaddress? -X 38 resulted in an invalid privkey -.-

Vanitygen assumes the private key magic bytes are (public key) + 128, which is not true for lots of coins. For Gap its +59.

go to vanitygen.c

Line 399
   privtype = 128 + addrtype;

change to
   privtype = 59 + addrtype;

then hit make again

Now it generates valid private keys

Cheers, i've added it as a new Case

Code:
case 'G':
                        addrtype = atoi(optarg);
                        privtype = 59 + addrtype;
                        scriptaddrtype = addrtype;
                        break;
and added G into the opt list a few lines up
Code:
opt = getopt(argc, argv, "vqnrik1eE:P:NTXG:F:t:h?f:o:s:")

These slow blocks really seem to hit the network hard.  Wallets "hanging" for inordinate periods of time.

Anyone else notice this?

Prime numbers are interesting for lots of mathematicians around the globe,
and they're also important to every day cryptography (see RSA).

Researches about prime gaps could not only lead to new breakthroughs in the bounded gap,
it may also help proving the Twin Prime Conjecture and maybe even the millennium problem,
the Riemann hypothesis. Who knows?

To sum it up: Its a lot more than just "cause we can".

So the pool has 85% of the network hash rate. Should this be a concern?

ever tried that? Price rises a lot and you end up with just a few coins.

There aren't many out there.  3 BTC makes you the richest GAP holder in all the land.

Well someone just dumped down to 0.00012001.

It's that time of the month.  AWS bills are due in a few days.  Happens with all cpu coins.  Those EC2 costs start adding up.  People sell to pay the bill.  When people realize it's not profitable to mine dumping at those prices they'll either stop mining or dumping.

This coin is too young and inexpensive to be worried about  the price at this time.  I think that whoever sold at 0.00012001 will regret it.

You think it's AWS dumping?

Seems like more of a statement to me, like someone's trying to say that there's a GPU miner and they're looking to take the market to pasture.

I mean .. there's not so much profit to be had on this market like you said, selling now seems like a loss .. unless .. GPU miner.

W/e only .38 BTC value dump anyways, too little to tell.

Hope whoever was lucky enough to catch the sell is happy they're a proud owner of what is now 1.2% of the currency, and a top twenty owner for sure Cheesy

And it's only at the end of fall, that we discover it was naught but the wind that knew when one particular leaf was to fall from one particular tree, only to land in one distinct spot .. to be left for an eternity, and waste its time in a wait sublime. C0A2A1C4

Even though I doubt that somebody secretly wrote one already, the beauty of this coin is that a GPU miner would likely benefit us all, even if we had no interest in GAP coin... But, especially if we had interest in GAP coin.

I agree, it would be very beneficial!

It's starting to get pretty cold where I am and the CPU just doesn't keep the room warm.

I just hope whomever does put one together decides to share it in some way.

Where did you get that all have GPU miner?
no it, the rate dropped since it time to pay for leased AC.
When all the while I noticed as soon as pool risen AC, mining darkcoin they fell, analyzed pool suchpool.pw/

And now they're back  Smiley
